We recently travelled to Edmonton with my mom, 89 years old, for a family wedding. I hired Harmony Caregiving to stay with mom at the hotel. This gave her independence and flexibility in a safe environment. She had caregivers with her day and night and they joined in family events with us. The caregivers were wonderful with mom, they were all reliable and professional and my mom received excellent care. I found them pleasant and personable and I would definitely call on them again in the future and would recommend Harmony Caregiving.

I am so grateful for all of the wonderful care that my mom received from Harmony Caregiving! It was very important for my mom to continue living in her home of 45 years, and near one of her best friends, and all of my mother's kind caregivers made it possible and joyful and fun for her! My mother often talked about how happy she was to have visits from her caregivers- how she enjoyed listening to music, going for walks and sharing stories with them. As I was living far from my mother, I really appreciated the excellent communication- often weekly check-ins, regarding my mother's care needs and how she was feeling. As my mother's dementia progressed I am also so grateful for all of the guidance and attention given to help reduce my mother's anxiety and confusion. Especially during these last three years as Covid has brought so much uncertainty and stress, I always felt that I could count on Harmony Caregiving to ensure that my mother had consistent and wonderful care. Our family cannot find enough words to express how grateful we are to the wonderful team led by nurse Suzanne that cared for our Mama 24/7 allowing Mama to leave the hospital to return to live in her own home. From the quick initial response done so professionally (all set up in one day!) to the kindness, compassion and care Mama received each and every day, we thank you. Trying to match staff to not just Mama's physical needs but also her personality was appreciated and helped our Mama accept strangers into her home. The staff became almost like extended family as they worked with all of us to meet our Mama's needs. We would highly recommend Harmony to help care for your loved one. They were a godsend!

My wife Ann and I travelled to Canada in May/June 2023 and spent three weeks in Edmonton, whilst I worked at the University of Alberta. Ann required support in the way of companionship during the weekday afternoons whilst I was at work. I " discovered" Harmony Caregiving on- line before leaving Melbourne, Australia. Kaylee was most helpful to me in identifying the type of help required and the costs involved. Jennifer, Gavin and other Harmony staff also provided support. A young second year nursing student named Muslima became Ann's companion from 1 to 5 pm each weekday. This worked wonderfully well. I retained Harmony Caregiving to provide companion care and health care aid support for my mom who was designated SL4 and in a great facility. Harmony worked collaboratively with me to find the right staff fit for my mom and the facility. Ultimately mom became palliative and her end of life process was enhanced by having the consistent one on one support from Chantal and Shereen who had become such an important part of her life in her final months. I frequently refer people to Harmony Caregiving. They really came through for my family and I when my mother was placed in a long term care facility. It was a really hard process and my family appreciated the peace of mind Harmony was able to provide by providing companion care on the nights my family could not visit. They were with us all the way even during the heart wrenching period when my mother forgot myself and my siblings. Sherry was so kind and reached out to me personally to see how I was doing. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. It was such a simple thing to do, but it really showed she cared about my family. At one point during COVID, the rules at my mother's home relaxed enough to allow two people to visit my mother. This was a hard decision for us as it had to be same two people every time and we are a family of four siblings. How could we possibly decide? After much discussion, we decided as a family that one of the people should be our usually care giver from Harmony. They were able to provide great companion support and we felt that this was in mom's best interests. Again, could not recommend Sherry and her team at Harmony Caregiving enough.

Harmony caregiving team was absolutely incredible with supporting my family through extremely difficult time. Their caregivers were very attentive, caring and warm when looking after my grandfather. The nurses went out of their way to help us make my grandfather comfortable and ensure he has the best care and that I have all the needed support in order to care for him at home. They are also very responsive and very quick to set up an in-home assessment (I reached out to them on Sunday for services and already had a nurse in our home the next morning to do an assessment). It allowed my mom to be supported in her own home for much longer than she would have been able to without the help. Additionally it gave my husband and I some respite time which was much needed. Harmony was always prompt in communicating back to us when needed and worked very collaboratively with us in determining what might work best for my mom (which was often very challenging as mom had not previously been open to the idea of help). The care and compassion exhibited at all levels of Harmony staff was exceptional - from the hospital visit to the in-home consultation and eventually to the care givers who provided their utmost in empathy toward my palliative father and our family on scene. The staff they send are incredible: they can help you with cleaning, chores, companionship, errands, or any sort of care you need. The owners take the time to really talk to you and understand you and to set you up with staff that they think will best be able to meet your needs. Sara has been a great addition to my needs. I lost my husband in September of 2019 and I was overwhelmed with all of the work that needed to be done during this time. My husband had been in the Canadian Armed forces for over 33 years. I approached the Legion and the Canadian Armed Forces and they assisted me with everything. They suggested that I qualified for assistance with housekeeping and lawn maintenance. Because of my own health issues, I contacted Harmony Caregiving for an estimate and set up a housekeeping routine to assist me with heavier work loads such a vacuuming, washing floors and keeping me normal. The service has been great and they worked with me to coordinate my needs. Sara does a wonderful job. She is here for three hours every two weeks, she is reliable and completes the work assigned to her and (helps me with little things that I have forgotten to do.) I am very impressed with this company and would recommend them to anyone in a position the requires any type of assistance.

Harmony Caregiving were very helpful over the past 5 months with caring for our family member. Respite - Sherry and Darla came out to our home and assessed the needs of our family. The caregiver they picked was a perfect match to look after our loved one. For follow up visits they were very conscientious about sending the same caregiver so continuity was kept. Care Placement - When our family needed to make the decision to place our family member into Memory Care, Harmony Caregiving sent representatives to our meeting with Alberta Health Services Care Placement. Their presence and knowledge changed the energy of the meeting to be very positive and productive. Darlas experiences and contacts with the different facilities helped with making our decision of placement for our family member. Harmony Caregiving has been providing dementia support care for my mother for the last 9 months and I am thrilled with the service my mother receives. I met with Sherry Gibson-Walters, the owner of Harmony Caregiving, in November of 2017 at the Extendicare facility where my mother resides. Not only was Sherry kind and professional, she was sincerely interested in hearing about my mothers life, her care needs, and most importantly, the activities that my mother would like to do with a caregiver, such as: going for walks outside when the weather is nice, watching the children play at the splash pool across the street, listening to music, doing jigsaw puzzles, crafts, and colouring. In addition to employing well trained and kind-hearted professionals, Harmony Caregiving has an amazing web portal that allows to me login and check to see the report from the caregiver for each visit with my mother. The report states what activities my mother and the caregiver do, such as coloring or going for a walk outside, what care was provided such as brushing my mothers teeth and applying lotion to her face, and my mothers overall mood or health that evening. The caregiver also fills out a paper form of report that my siblings who dont go online much can peruse when they visit my mother. Sherry specifically matched a caregiver with an outgoing personality to my mother. My mother used to be very outgoing herself, but since her decline into dementia, has become increasingly non-verbal. I am thrilled to advise that on several of the reports the caregiver remarks that my mother was quite talkative during the visits. Clearly, Harmony knows how to match caregivers to clients. Harmony Caregiving is also great at communicating changes, be they permanent or last minute. For example, if my mothers usual caregiver is ill, I receive a text message that the caregiver wont be there tonight but a fill in is on the way. Also, I get messages from them about whether I want to change the day the caregiver comes if the calendar shows that the caregiver would be scheduled to visit on a major holiday. All of my siblings and I have full-time jobs and visiting my mother on a weekly basis is sometimes not possible for all of us. I feel very relieved knowing that Harmony is there with her for those weeks that we dont find the time to visit. In fact, I think that sometimes my mother prefers the caregivers company to the company of her own children. Again, I cannot say enough about the wonderful service that Harmony Caregiving provides and the passion that its owner, Sherry Gibson-Walters, has for our seniors, their care, and their lives. I would happily recommend Harmony Caregiving Inc. to any individual or family that is considering companion care or support care services.

My Dad recently had his 9th brain bleed and we were guided to ask Harmony Caregiving to be present at a very important meeting at the hospital regarding his future care.
