I would give Providence Place in Fremont 10 stars if I could. I have read the other comments, and in particular, the one posted by Marie is heart breaking to me. I can honestly say that I have never had any issues or concerns about the facility, the staff, or the care my grandmother was given during her almost two-year stay. The goal of an ‘Alzheimers facility, in my mind, is to love and care for our family members when we cannot, and Providence did just that and more for my grandmother. My grandmother, at the time of her passing, had suffered from Alzheimers for seven years. During that period of time, our family tried in many ways to keep her home. She lived with a daughter for three years and with myself for two – during those years, I assure you we didnt do everything perfect; but what we did do was love her and care for her as best we could. Eventually, it became very clear that I would no longer be able to care for her the way she needed to be cared for, and that began my mission to find a facility that would love her the way her family does. God has a way of making things happen, and Providence was placed in my path. I knew immediately that this was the place for her. Everyone was so sweet and kind and loving – I couldnt be happier at that moment. I had interviewed a lot of facilities, and although there are great options in Fremont, this was the one; I knew it instantly. The transition was difficult for her, as it is for most patients when they have to be moved, especially when they suffer from dementia. The staff was so patient with her (and with me) through this transition period. They did everything possible they could to make it as smooth as was possible, given the circumstance. Providence quickly became her ‘home. Instead of asking me when she was going ‘home (referring to my house) when we would go out for lunch or to get our hair done, she was always anxious to go home (referring to Providence). This is where she felt safe, where her friends were, where her family was. She quickly started getting involved in the daily activities. For the two years she lived with me, she refused to do any outside activities, so I wasnt sure if she would ever leave her room. But within the first few weeks, they had her involved in every activity, and she was doing it with joy. When I went to visit her, she was always sitting in the main area, enjoying spending time with the other patients or the staff. She was so happy to be there. She recently passed away from this awful disease and during a terrible time (COVID) when it was hard for family to be there, but the staff was diligent in their communication to me as well as the ability to be with her for her final moments. Being there during her final hours reminded me just how many people loved her – not just our family, but her new family at Providence. You could feel the love and the heart break by everyone. I would recommend this facility to anyone who wants their family member to feel loved and cared for.

Providence Place is a unique memory care unit that offers specialized care for those struggling with dementia, as well as their families. I have seen many wonderful things happen in the daily lives of those cared for at PP. The staff often goes above and beyond as they use the exceptional dementia training they have received.

Providence place is a wonderful place to work! They treat their staff and their residents with respect and love. My last job was not like that, they were so negative towards residents and staff but at providence its the opposite! I love working there and hope to for a long time ♥
