Meals here at Country House are geared toward residents meaning the meats always come in small pieces and the seasoning is appropriate, not too spicy. My mother was in CountryHouse for nearly 18 months. In that time we got to know all the staff and what a pleasure it was to do so. As with all families it's an excrutiating process and decision trying to find a nice place to house our loved one that needs constant caring and help. I had been in a great number of care facilities over the years in my previous carreer as a paramedic and was not looking forward to placing my mother in any such facility. The need eventually arose and the skeptical search was on to find an exceptable facility. After a significant search my siblings and I decided on CountryHouse. It turned out to be an absolute blessing!! Me ... the eternal skeptic that thought we would never find a place that we would be able to comfortably leave our mother ... became more and more convinced that CountryHouse is the standard that all memory care homes should be judged by! The facility itself, the food, the enviroment, the many activities and interactions given to the residents, and the most kind and loving staff that I have ever had the pleasure to deal with for my mothers care. They did so very much more for mom and us kidsthan we ever had the right to expect!!

This is the best place we found for our Mother. Staff are caring and loving. They engage each resident and make special times a big deal for the resident and family. They take trips two to three times a week with residents. They go and eat pie or appetizers at local restaurants who close for an hour or two to accommodate the residents. Shelly, the Chief executive, works holidays giving her staff time off with their families. Mom is a Razorback fan and wanted to go to a game while they were here in Omaha for the College World Series. Shelly suggested we make a big deal out of it and stay at the facility. It was a good time. Mom is happy there and your’s will be too. Being from Arkansas my wife and I would love to move back but will not because Mom is getting such good care at Country House in Council Bluffs.

My mother moved into CountryHouse because of a rapid and really distressing dementia. I am so grateful at how helpful and kind everyone was. She had a beautiful room in a genuinely home like environment. I felt comfortable coming in to see her at all hours. It was a huge improvement over regular assisted living which was not addressing her dementia struggles.

Ok I don't do this often but out of the three places we have placed my mother, one in Colorado, two in Omaha, Country House is the best by far. The staff are caring, kind, and competent. Having Dementia is a disease that affects the family most and this place gets it. Moms first week was awful, she fell and ended up at NebraskaMed which is another story. That said, Country House staff worked to mitigate the hazards getting bed alarms, motion detectors, and even placed a rail on moms bed. They have activities from dawn to dusk they create a community with structure and routine just what patients with cognitive decline need. They take trips most days even it's just a drive around the several parks in Council Bluffs. They have partnered with local restaurants that close for an hour or two a month to allow residents to dine out. Their COVID response, like most places, follows State of Iowa guidance and has about 80% of residents fully vaccinated. Their medication management is spot on with mom not missing a dose. If your looking for place that specializes in memory care for that special someone, I cannot say enough good things about this place. Mom has never been this happy since she moved from her Condo. Country House isn't perfect but they care. A small place with small nurse to patient ratios that insure your family member gets the attention they need and deserve.

The experience here was wonderful! In looking for a place for my grandma the staff knew it was a tough decision to make and really took the time to get to know us and my grandma. Tiffany asked about my grandma and who she is versus just talking about cost of their care and the activities-services they provide. The atmosphere is great, residents seem happy and cheerful, and I felt very comfortable sharing details of my family with the staff. Thank you Tiffany and the rest of the Country House staff for being so amazing! I would highly recommend this facility to those seeking care for their family members!

I have worked at CountryHouse for almost a year now and I have to say this company is the best place I have ever worked. I have worked at many other corporate companies in my career and this one is different than all the others. They are more family oriented and care more about their staff than any other company I have worked for in the past. At CountryHouse, I am not just another number that the company doesnt care about, they actually appreciate me and what I do. On top of that, they have given me more fulfillment in my purpose to help others. I can feel this when I come to work and know that I am helping our residents with something they can no longer do for themselves. I really enjoy going somewhere that I get to do what I love and I am not treated like just another warm body, that no-one is interested in unless there is a problem. My gramma was moved to the Country House from another adult living facility when she began to roam and it became a safety issue. Once moved she thrived at this facility until her passing. She was always happy, singing, dancing. I remember one visit, she told us she had to go as it was activity time. HA! Her fingernails and hair were always perfectly done. She loved the bus rides and all the activities planned and crafts. The staff loved her like family and worked as a team with our family to ensure she was well cared for. They were quick to call if there were any problems. I would say Yes in a heartbeat if that time comes because of my confidence in the staff, the programming that we offer that is truly above and beyond, and the importance in family involvment that we strive for. Country House is a great place for peace of mind if you are looking for a home for a loved one with dementia. The staff is genuine and caring. The atmosphere is warm and homey. The facilities are spotless. And your loved one lives in a room furnished entirely with their own stuff. Nothing hospital or sterile about it! I love the fact that it is small, the staff know the residents, and residents have access to the entire home. The only thing locked is front and back door. There is a secure outdoor courtyard that overlooks nature as far as you can see. Activities are obviously planned with enjoyment for residents uppermost priority. I am so happy we found this place!!!

My grandparents were moved to CountryHouse Residence a few months ago and my family has been extremely pleased with the care they have been provided. Their goal is to provide care that promotes the dignity of older adults with memory issues and it is apparent that the staff are passionate about this. The environment is clean, the staff are dressed professionally, and the food is quite good. Each time I have visited staff have been kind and respectful in all their interactions with my grandparents and other residents. There are multiple activities each week to encourage family to visit and promote a sense of community among the residents. There is also a support group that meets routinely and has been immensely helpful in dealing with the impact of my grandmas memory loss. I am relieved to know that, since my family cannot be available for my grandparents 24-7, CountryHouse Residence is providing the best care possible in our absence.

We moved my mom to Country House about 4 months ago and she has been so much happier and active! She made some good friends with the other tenants and adores the staff! When I come to visit, Mom is usually in the main lobby area sitting among others and chatting with them or busy with the many activities. She enjoys the bus rides around Council Bluffs and their stop at Village Inn on Wednesdays. Im very thankful with the staff keeping a close eye on my mom with her recent medical issues. Theyve done a good job keeping me informed about any concerns or changes theyd like to make. I can reach staff by calls or texts and they get back to me quickly - even after work hours! This gives me a great piece of mind when Im not able to be watching over Mom at all times! The biggest thing that warms my heart about Country House is when I bring Mom back after an outing and we pull up to the building and Mom replies, Were home! That tells me shes happy living at this memory care facility and she trusts those around her. The move to Country House hasnt been an easy one for her as us kids moved her away from her home town, away from her close friends, and a place she feels safe. My mother has those things at Country House! I believe it is a caring and loving environment!

The staff is friendly, patient and attentive to the residents and visitors during meals with our dad. Evening times can be more of a challenge, but the staff continues to be respectful and helpful. Meals are usually very good and substantial and I havent heard many complaints from residents. They especially seem to look forward to their deserts! It might be helpful to talk to residents about some of their favorite dishes in order to add some variety to the menu!

Being a shy person, it is hard for her to join in group activities but the staff encourages her. If she does not join in she at least observes the activities. Country House has been a tremendous blessing to our family, including both of my parents who live there. This residence not only cares for those who live there, and they do that extremely well, but also for the families. We are encouraged to attend monthly support groups, social hours, activities, meals, holiday celebrations...all at no cost to the families. These relationships have comforted me in knowing I am not alone in having parents with memory issues. I cant say enough good about the caregivers and staff who all work together to care for our loved ones...every employee, at all levels, gets involved when needed to help out in a day at Country House. About a month ago, we wrote a review including concerns we had regarding Country House. Staff members met with us to listen to us and address those concerns, and we were very satisfied with the discussion we had. (I cant figure out how to change the star rating above but would definitely give a higher rating now.) Country House is a lovely facility with friendly, caring staff. We appreciate their family activities and that they welcome family to eat meals with their loved one. We love the staff!
