My Mother has been at this facility since March 2024, she is wonderfully cared for, and engages in daily activities that help her stay involved. Her adjustment was hard at first, but the staff and caregivers were patient, kind and loving to her. She loves puzzles, arts and crafts, and the trivia games. Every other week, young people from a local organization bring live animals and teach all of us about their lives and habits. It takes great leadership to understand and support persons of various ages, and with varied degrees of dementia and Alzheimer's but they work constantly to make sure the residents and families are seen, heard, and responded to.

We recently toured Arden Courts as we are beginning our search for a residence for our Mom, who has Alzheimer's. What really impressed us was just how naturally friendly everyone was before, during and as we were heading out. Also, and I don't think this can be understated, the tenure of the staff at the facility completely wowed us. Many, many people had been there for double-digit years and some up near 25. While we're not yet ready to move Mom to memory care, that type of statistic in an industry that sees annual turnover rates of plus 50% is pretty compelling.

Upon my visit to gather information, Mrs. Mitchell surpassed my expectations with her outstanding customer service. She not only provided me with crucial information relevant to my father's needs but also conducted a comprehensive tour of the facility. Additionally, she took the time to print out important information for me, assuring me that she was available for any further inquiries. But her dedication didn't stop there; upon my return home, I received an email from Mrs. Mitchell, which included follow-up information and applications for services that could benefit my father. This level of care and attention was so remarkable that I felt compelled to share my experience in this review.

Caring and compassionate with absolutely cleanliness throughout. My mom was completely comfortable at Arden Courts with its homely atmosphere and design. The staff was amazing especially the nursing staff and particularly Rohey and the cleaner Dave. Care was part of everything they did to include visiting my mom at the nursing home and find on her list things months after her passing. Rohey called me to say here pictures were found along with other items 10 months after my mom passed away. The staff reconnected with me when I went to reclaim her photos and other information. Arden courts goes the extra mile while also providing superior care to their residents!

We placed mother in Arden last October 2022. Other than the fact that is has been in business for decades, and the business remained in good standing with the state of MD, I really did not know much, except that it offered a lock-down facility for dementia, etc. residents. While the monthly cost of this facility, is high, in comparison to others, it seems in this case, you really get what you pay for. I waited to write this review, because I wanted to take about a year to get to know the staff, pop-up without notice (24-7), and observed the health and care, overall well-being of mother at Arden. I am comfortable to say that we made the right choice in placing mother at Arden. Arden has exceeded my expectations in many concerns: medical and daily care for residents (hygiene, clothing, bedroom cleanliness, etc); dining hall experiences, social activities, interactions with staff and their responsiveness to any concerns or questions, ATTITUDE of staff and leadership, pleasant decorated surroundings for holidays and daily building decor, etc. Mother always seems clean, happy, well cared for, and equally important, the STAFF is always pleasant, patient with my questions, etc., they have good morale, and I have seen them clearly care for not just mother, but other residents in a loving manner, MUCH better than I can, because I have too many negative historical emotions with mother. This important because I have seen other care facilities where the staff is rude, clearly unhappy and overworked, and that translates directly to lower standard of overall care to the resident. Where does this positive environment stem from? I'm not sure, but I can you that from past experience, the top leadership sets a mentality and controls a mentality by how the leadership treats its employees. If the leadership treats its employees poorly, statistics will show in general, I believe, then the staff has low morale and that causes poor treatment to the residents. I believe the leadership at Arden, currently Bobbi, has a direct relationship to the exceptional care that mother receives on a daily basis. The staff handles so many screams and cries and crazy behavior, etc. from mother, but they do it in silence, and rarely tell me, unless they suggest her meds be changed, etc. They relieve me of so much stress knowing mother is well cared for at Arden. I truly believe mother would get much worse care in other facilities that have miserable staff, and cost a lot less, of course..usually, you get what you pay for..and yes, I know the annual cost is slowly going up for mother at Arden, and it will be sad when we can no longer afford to keep her at Arden, but until then, we are very grateful. The nurses are outstanding, the visiting doctor is personable and friendly, and MOST important, the bottom level nurse aid care-takers who give daily care (dressing, feeding, cleaning) are amazing beautiful Angels every time I go. I hope they get paid more for their time, they deserve it, their job is so hard and they work tirelessly LONG shifts. My family was able to celebrate for free, mother's 90th bday in the Arden beautiful party room, and the staff was so helpful and they room was decorated beautifully with flowers, nice decor. We were grateful it made it so easy so we did not have to take mother out of Arden which is a major hassle for her and us. Executive Director Bobbi Mammen, runs a ship that floats, performs, above and beyond my expectations. I hope Bobbi too and all of her staff, gets a raise, and that she is able to continue to provide the excellent care for residents in the future. Thank you Arden for your continuing excellent service to those suffering from dementia, Alzheimers, etc.

After four years at Arden Courts, my mother passed away. I cannot say enough how wonderful all of the staff were throughout our journey. My mother had been in another facility that claimed to do memory care, but they were not equipped to handle the behavioral issues that come with Alzheimer's. From the first day, the Arden Courts staff cared for her with compassion. Every person..director, receptionists, nurses, CNA, house keeping maintenance, etc..was incredible. I strongly recommend this facility for your loved ones. The peace of mind I had knowing my mother was in excellent hands was life saving.

My mom suffers from Alzheimer's disease and has lived at Arden Courts in Silver Spring for about a year and a half now. I am very pleased with the attention and care that she receives from the staff on a daily basis. The facility is nicely laid out with safe outdoor spaces to enjoy on warm days and plenty of cozy spots to sit and talk. I appreciate how hard it is to care for people with dementia so seeing how the staff handles the residents with kindness, patience and positivity is very comforting. My wife has been a resident for 1 1/2 years. I could not ask for better care in a better environment. The staff are warm, sensitive, gentle, and respectful of the residents' wishes and dignity. I had a relative that stayed at Arden Courts for two months. I can honestly say that the staff members are very patient, kind, and genuinely care about the residents. I would pop-up to see how my relative was being treated at various times of the day. I not only witnessed the kindness that my relative was being shown, but I was also pleased to see how nicely the other residents were being treated. The only issue that might occur would be the way that the residents, (due to the condition that the residents have been diagnosed with), have a tendency to wander into each others rooms and possibly remove another patients personal items. If a personal item is missing, the Arden Courts staff members will definitely try to locate a displaced item. I really enjoyed working with the staff, so much so, that I would go back to visit the staff, eventhough my relative is no longer there.

Worked with this company for over a year and the staff are very caring and take excellent care of the residents. They provide activities that keep the residents engaged and encourage higher level thinking and the residents seem to enjoy it very much. While working there I saw many residents create friendships that were similar to a family environment. Many family members of the residents form bonds with the staff and other residents. I would highly recommend this company to anyone seeking a loving home like environment for their family. It is also wonderful place to work.

My mother has Alzheimers and we looked at many places locally for her to live and be cared for. We chose Arden Courts of Silver Spring for many reasons: Really caring staff and management, a safe environment, almost 20 years of experience with memory care, full time on site nursing, and a comprehensive program that of course does not cure Alzheimers, but helps to slow decline and reduce anxiety in residents. Everyone from the marketing staff to kitchen to the maintanance staff is versed memory care and relates well to residents and will help them if needed. Every staff member seems to know all the residents and they have incredible patience with them. I honestly can say I feel I have found the best place my mother could be.
