I have had the opportunity to visit The Classic on numerous occasions as well as have friends with family members reside there. It is obvious when first walking through the front doors what a top-notch facility it is. The residents are encouraged to participate in any one or more of the numerous activities and social events. (Their activities director is AMAZING! So incredibly creative and fun!). And the food!!!!! Not your typical “senior center” menu. I’ve been lucky enough to join the residents for a few meals and they were all excellent!!! Hats-off to the chef!!! I could go on and on about what makes The Classic so special. With that being said, I can confidently recommendThe Classic at Hillcrest Greens to families looking for a caring assisted living community for their loved ones.

My wife has been in the Memory Care unit now for a little over two years. The day-to-day care that is required Is very well done! A key component of that Care is the activities that are done each afternoon. These activities are outstanding and incredibly creative. They clearly do a lot to contribute to the welfare and happiness of my wife. What I really like is the staff and how friendly and professional they are. They’re positive and compassionate care is Heartwarming.

The Classic for many years was a nice place for my family member and friend to live. Sadly, they hired [name removed] in the office who has no compassion or even cares about the residents. I have heard several complaints about her from other residents and staff. She is focused on making money not the residents. After over 8 years with no problems, my friend was told there were complaints he was rude to the aids, but they refused to give him any specifics. Two weeks later he was given an eviction notice to be out in 30 days. It would seem reasonable to me that after so many years with no problems, they would ask if he was ok or having any health issues or problems. They were just focused on getting his room so they could rent it to someone else for a higher rate, and charged him erroneous fees after he left. Some of the aids were sad and crying when they heard he was leaving, telling him they enjoyed having him there, he had friends and was well liked. Very sad way to treat someone ageing and disabled. I see the owner [name removed] has left herself a 5 star review.

No matter where I take her within the entire facility everybody knows her by name and have special stories to share with me of moments with her. The communication is outstanding! The classic truly feels like one big family. The staff and the residents all together. I have never seen an establishment with staff that goes above and beyond like the classic. Their heart for what they do and the people they serve is so evident in everything they do from the fun and unique activities that change weekly, to the care they take with prepping their menus, to most of the staff knowing almost all the residents names (hourly staff and administration included!) and being curious about their lives and their stories. Best of all, they care about feedback and are truly seeking to create the best living space and community for their seniors.

My family was very fortunate to choose The Classic as a placement for my Mom when she moved to the area. Mom loved it there! She started out in independent living and moved to more care as her health deteriorated. At every stage of her journey, her needs were fully met at The Classic. It not only has welcoming and attractive grounds and common areas, but it also exceeded our expectations for care, activities, dining options and so much more. Mom participated in so many activities that we had to keep a calendar so we knew when she was free for a visit! She made wonderful friendships and frequently told us how happy she was. I cannot express our appreciation of the wonderful care the staff provided during the very difficult COVID years and during Mom’s end of live decline. Those times were hard on everyone, and the peace of mind we had knowing that Mom was well cared for, comfortable and content was invaluable. We will forever be grateful to the staff for the wonderful care they took of our precious Mother.

The Classic is a special place. It’s like living in a beautiful, warm home with an amazing chef, the best get togethers, a housekeeper, your best friends next door and always a neighbor to lend you a cup of sugar plus a built in caregiver should you need it. The memory care unit has its own special features. For an individual who has reverted back to their most vulnerable state, they deserve the most loving and gentle care. They receive that here. They are safe and loved in a place that feels like home. It feels like family here.

The classic is not a classic, but a nightmare. I’ll start with management, first off will take your PTO hours without informing you of doing so. Management will gather all information on you and will hold on it until they feel like it’s okay to kick you out the door. Staff supervisor is rude with staff and doesn’t seem to ever show compassion or even a care in the world for them unless if staff are just picking up shifts. A supervisor should never act that way much less towards staff. Staff members are snitches here and are more than happy to kick you out the door as well if they don’t like anything about you, even the way you talk. Due to that, lots of staff were fired. I would never recommend working at this place, you get over worked, underpaid and you work with snakes.

My mom has been a resident in The Garden for a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with the facility, the care, the staff, cleanliness of the facility (no nasty nursing home smell), and the activities. There are nonstop activities all day long from yoga to music to games to cooking classes to arts and crafts. They even have happy hour every week! My mom has always been very social and the activities are lifesavers. She loves the weekly dog visits, she also loves the fact that when I visit her I can bring my own dog in to spend time with her. I feel she’s safe and happy. Residents are engaged. They are able to close and even lock their doors, and are treated with the respect they so deserve. Memory care is a sad place but this is the happiest memory care I’ve ever seen. I’m an RN (as is my mom) and and I would recommend The Classic to everyone, it’s perfect!

The staff is amazing, the facility is is in pristine conditions and the food quality is top of the line. Since moving into The Classic my father has personally started to enjoying life more and has attended numerous social events-happy hour, yoga, Senior Prom, mix & mingles. The Classic at Hillcrest Greens is the place to look at if your loved one needs to be in independent living or assisted. I have a very dear friend whose parents were involved in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. The result of that accident is that both parents suffered physical and emotional damages which resulted in their needing around the clock care. My friend took great pains and effort in finding just the most perfect facility for her parents' care. When she came upon Hillcrest Greens she was so excited and felt that her parents would receive the best care possible. Hillcrest Greens has not disappointed my friend. Because she is out of state she can not easily check on the care her parents are receiving but she has many friends and family who can and their reports about Hillcrest Greens have been stellar. My friend sleeps better at night knowing she did the right thing when she placed her parents in the care of Hillcrest Greens. When I see photographs of her parents they always have wonderful smiles on their faces and even a sparkle in their eyes. The Classic at Hillcrest Greens has met the extremely high expectations of my friend. I love seeing her face when she shares with me the different experiences Hillcrest is providing for her parents. I share this because my friend is the perfect daughter and found the perfect facility for her parents.

I feel extremely blessed to have found the Classic at Hillcrest Greens. In December of 2017, it was decided that my mother needed to be moved into a memory care facility. I grew up in the Eau Claire area and reached out to several friends for places they would recommend. I created a list, researched the available information on the internet and narrowed the possible choices to 3. I drove 500 miles from Michigan and spent several days touring facilities and interacting with staff members. I can tell you that within 10 minutes of walking into the Classic, I was hopeful that it was the one. After 2 visits and several hours there, I knew it was the place I would entrust with Mom's care. We moved Mom in on a Friday. Through a series of unforeseen circumstances, we moved Dad in the following Thursday. The staff at the Classic was concerned about my father's well being and reached out to me. They explained what they had observed and jumped through hoops to make it possible for me to move Dad in too. I've have been visiting the Classic on a regular basis now for 2 years and I can tell you that while their task of caring for memory patients is nearly impossible, they have exceeded my expectations. That is not to say there have not been bumps in the road. On several occasions we have had to deal with difficult circumstances and each and every time I have appreciated being able to communicate very directly with the staff to resolve the issues. I am so grateful for all of the care my parents have received over these last 2 years and know they will be cared for and loved at the Classic until the end of their journeys. I am such a fan of the Classic that I may just put my name on the waiting list when I turn 55. That way when I am ready to move into such a wonderful facility my name will be at the top of the waiting list.
