We have been very happy with New Perspective Senior Living Memory Care Cottage in Mahtomedi. The small cottage feel is comforting and feels more like a home for my dad. The staff has been friendly and caring. We have also been able to enjoy taking my dad outside to the backyard garden area during the warmer months. I would definitely recommend this facility for families that need 24 hour care for their loved one.

This facility didn’t work out for my loved one at this time but I was very impressed by the warmth & comfort I felt while touring. Dave Smith the housing director was very open & informative- and had a few care tips he passed on to me that I appreciated. The interior was clean & residents seemed content & cared for. I’d feel confident in recommending this community to others looking for a safe caring environment for their loved one.

Im so glad I found New Perspectives - Mahtomedi for my mother! She was living in another facility that was more concerned about finding medical issues that dealing with her real issue -- mental health issues stemming from her Alzheimers. At New Perspectives, she is loved and gently guided to fresh activities, healthful food, companionship with fellow residents, and a beautiful place that is truly home. Each residents room is not far from the living area, which has two conversational spaces, a fireplace, pianos and a puzzle table. There is a secure outdoor garden space and an outdoor porch for summer days. The small and attentive staff give hugs and encouragements and truly love their residents. And there have been no Covid cases in this place! I feel so comforted by the care my mother receives!

I moved my Mom here almost 2 years ago..I cant believe I am just now doing this! I have had a lot of time to observe and meet all of the wonderful staff and residents at New Perspective-Mahtomedi. My Mom adjusted rather quickly to her new surroundings due to the outstanding Nursing Staff. As my Moms cares have increased they have not missed a beat! The facility is kept very clean and tidy, laundry is always done on time, meals always smell delicious. The kitchen-dining area is large and inviting ,the staff eat meals with the residents (not currently due to Covid). The large living room area is very cozy with a large fireplace! The residents rooms are a nice and bright yet private and secure. The fenced in large yard is beautiful in the warmer months and very safe and secure. I would highly recommend this facility for your loved ones....I am so thankful daily for this place and the caring staff and can not imagine having my Mom any place else.

New Perspectives in Mahtomedi was recommended to my siblings and me by a nurse when our elderly Mom was no longer able to care for herself. We met with the manager - Brittney - and were immediately impressed with her and the facility. Brittney described how everything worked. She explained that their philosophy was that the facility was the residents home and the staff was visiting them in their home. We toured the facility and watched the staff and decided that this would be a good home for Mom. When she or we had questions as she adjusted to her new home, Brittney and all the staff were very friendly and helpful and worked through all issues with us. After a short time, Mom found friends and her place there. She told us she was happy she was there. If we had it to do all over again, wed choose New Perspectives at Mahtomedi again.

I have worked with New Prospective Mahtomedi for the last several years. Their team is amazing and is so focused on patient care- it is beautiful to whiteness. They go above and beyond each and every day to meet the needs of the residents and their families.

Our mom is a resident of New Perspective Mahtomedi and we couldnt be happier with the facility and the care she receives. The staff is very attentive and engaging with all the residents. The staff truly cares for the residents and is shows in the way the care for and interact with them. We have total piece of mind with our mom being at this facility. The setting is very home style. It was a tough decision moving mom into a facility, but her transition was quick and smooth thanks to the staff - mom liked it their immediately.

My mom lived at New Perspective of Mahtomedi for her last 3 and a half years. The staff is awesome, very caring and attentive to the needs of the residents. The ratio of staff to residents is a good match. The rate per month goes up as the needs of the resident increases, so it can get expensive, but the care is very good.

Making the decision that it was time to find mom better care than we could provide was difficult. However, New Perspective in Mahtomedi was the answer. Walking into their senior community and seeing the comfortable home setting and caring staff made our decision easier. Moms experience since moving into New Perspective has been nothing but positive. Though it was initially hard, with the kindness and professionalism of executive director Brittney Burnside, nurse Jackie, and the entire staff of New Perspective, we know that we made the right decision for her.
