My wife and I were researching elder care for her sister who was suffering from dementia. We visited 6 locations each had their plusses. We had narrowed our choice to 2 locations and chose Brookdale Dublin due to: 1. Care offered specific to my sister in-law’s needs and small enough for personal care 2. Brookdale stood out by Dana Segal was our initial contact and we were impressed with her understanding and ability to help us with all of our questions as we have never been through this process before. She was thorough and followed up This made our movement of my sister in-law less traumatic 3. We worked with Kyle Duffy, the director, as well He was warm and always had time for us. He also has promptly prepared insurance paperwork. The insurance company commented the thoroughness of his timely paperwork submitted Unfortunately, he has moved on to another job 4. Dana was very patient with the difficult process of getting my sister in-law into the home. 5. The staff is very attentive and promptly reacts to needs 6. Finally, the dining services manager June is a prize to this facility My first experience was the apple pie she gave us on our initial visit It was delicious ! Her meals follow that as well My sister in-law has been at the home for 3 months and so far we are very happy with Brookdale Dublin

I recently visited Brookdale for a tour of their community. Wow! The staff was so warm and welcoming, even just waving from down the hall if they weren’t close enough to greet me in-person. To me, that is the sign of a community that cares, and that always starts at the top. The director, Kyle, stopped to introduce himself and really make sure I was comfortable. The residents all seemed so happy and well cared-for. It is definitely a community I would feel secure recommending to family and friends.

I recently stopped by this community with my brother in search of a future residence for my mother. Although we did not have an appointment scheduled, the Executive Director, Kyle Duffy, immediately took the time to meet with us. Kyle was professional and knowledgeable, and was able to answers the many questions we had as first time visitors to a senior living building. The community itself was clean and well appointed, the residents were well cared for, and the staff was welcoming and engaged. If and when the time comes when we need to find placement for mom, Kyle and Brookdale Dublin will be our first stop.

The facility is home for my dad. He’s content, comfortable and safe. The staff are the best; treating the residents with respect. I found no family support in the doctor offices or communities to help us, the caregivers and how to navigate dementia care or resources. Once I met the staff at Brookdale Dublin, they hooked us with resources and dad moved in within 2 weeks.

My father has been in this location for more than a year and couldn’t be happier. The staff is his extended family. He tells me quite often that his room so clean and the food is like a five star restaurant. Thank you for taking care of my father. He’s a WWII Veteran and a retired policeman and a great father.

It is always a difficult decision to place a loved one in the care of someone else but Brookdale made that decision much easier. It is a smaller community which provides more personalized care. The staff knows not only all the residents' names but also their family members, too. There is a real family feel about the place which is comforting. I can't thank the staff at Brookdale enough for their dedication, professionalism, care and love they showed my mother.

After a rough winter and even more horrific holiday season, my brother and I were faced with the decision no one ever wants to make. The time had come, our father needed 24-hour care. Our dad had been in a facility in NJ after a hospital visit that absolutely did not live up to our standards and we knew we had to find a place that would treat him with the dignity and respect that he deserves. We were referred to Brookdale from a trusted person, whose father had been in their location in Tennessee. After meeting with the Dublin team the decision became quite clear, and we haven’t regretted that for one single moment. The level of care and respect that they deliver is one to be emulated. They treat their patients with dignity and above all, make them feel valued. No one ever wants this for their parents but if it is necessary, please know you need look no further than Brookdale in Dublin. The relief that is afforded to myself and my brother, knowing the care our dad is receiving is something that is immeasurable. An enormous thank you to the entire team at Brookdale Dublin for all you have done and continue to do for our dad!

Being a relatively small and specialized facility means that ALL staff at Brookdale Dublin have significant interaction with the residents everyday. Social interaction time is NOT limited to a prescribed, scheduled activity like it is at some care residences. Whether one is a custodian, an aide, a med tech, a cook, or an administrator, ALL Brookdale staff informally interact in a loving and positive way with the residents. The patience and love of the staff for their charges is genuine. On numerous occasions, I would stop by my mom’s room for a visit to find her door closed as staff helped Mom with dressing or toileting. On these occasions the staff person had no idea that I was there. My mother was ALWAYS spoken to in a caring and gentle manner, even when I know she herself was not being so caring or gentle! Some people are concerned that placing a loved one in a care facility will lead to a physical or emotional decline. Prior to entering Brookdale Dublin, Mom had lived at another care facility for a year. At the previous residence, Mom had lost weight, she became unable to walk, and she was nearly 100% nonverbal, changes all related to dementia. After just a couple months at Brookdale Dublin, mom began to talk and eat again. I attribute these changes as being almost entirely due to the staff’s commitment to engage Mom socially and to not give up on her. This past October, at 91 years old, Mom passed away at Brookdale Dublin. It was not from COVID-19, but the visitation restrictions were in place. Allowances were made for flexible family visits along with hospice care in Mom’s last month, however. I was incredibly touched when I learned (and saw in person) staff who gave up their break time in order to visit with, talk to, or play music for Mom when I wasn’t there. I can only hope that my final days are spent in the company of people of the same caliber as Mom got to at Brookdale I Dublin.

When my Hiroko started showing signs of dementia about 10 years ago, I tried to rationalize her behavior by saying she was just having a bad day. Soon she began wandering about the neighborhood. Twice the police brought her home, and my neighbor, Gale, took her in and fed her cookies and milk. It wasn’t until the winter of 2017 that I understood the seriousness of her disease. One cold January night she wandered off into an ice-covered march and began calling for help. I could hear her but couldn’t for the life of me find her. Luckily Gale had more acute hearing than I and was able to find her and bring her into the warmth and comfort in her home. Hiroko was going to die unless we did something drastic. I had nurses visit a few days a week, I put double locks on all the doors and I disabled the electric stove. Nothing worked for very long. Finally I did something I should have done long ago. I gathered up a list of assisted living facilities in my area and began visiting them. I was not terribly impressed with the first two or three. They had a hospital feel about them and at least one had a disagreeable oder. Finally I met Natalie Romano, the administrator of Brookdale Dublin. What a difference! Brookdale Dublin felt like a fraternity house. It felt like family. Everybody had their own room with flowers and pictures on the walls. I knew immediately that Brookdale Dublin was where Hiroko needed to be. For the first few months she wanted me to take her home, but gradually she lost her memory of home. She made some new friends, gained some weight and really began to thrive. Gradually she forgot who I was. On some days I was her brother or father. Other times she would just fake it with her big, beautiful smile. She was happy, and I had a huge weight lifted off my chest. Dementia is a vicious, incurable disease. Until they find a cure, there will always be a place for compassionate elder care. I’m so glad Hiroko’s last years were spent in Brookdale Dublin. She died last May surrounded by friends and Brookdale staff. I saw her a few hours before she died, and she said goodbye to me with her gorgeous smile.

My husband has been a resident at Brookdale for about three years. Brookdale is a small, homelike long-term care facility. I know that my husband is well cared for, loved and treated with the utmost respect. Before COVID, when I could visit on a regular basis, I entered his room while he was in the bathroom with one of the caregivers. I was listening to how she spoke to him (she didn't know I had entered his room) and it was calm, loving, and patient. All the caregivers are like this, and I know them all. They feel like family. They are kind and truly love the residents. It shows. Not having been able to visit has been extremely hard during the pandemic, but I have no anxiety relating to his care. The staff keeps the families updated and encourage Skype visits. Caregivers routinely call me or Facetime me to keep me updated and to let me say hello. My husband is at home there. Staff and management go over and above on a daily basis, and I cannot thank them enough for keeping everyone safe and well during these extraordinary times. I look forward to this pandemic being over and being able to visit again!

I am so pleased with the love and care Mom is getting at Brookdale! I was driving home from visiting her the other day and was flooded with such a warm feeling as I thanked God for the care she is receiving. She loves looking at the birds that come to her bird feeder and would always yell at squirrels that come to feed, so a still mysterious staff person brought her the cutest stuffed squirrel animal a while back. In my most recent visit a new fall chill was in the air and that same mysterious staff person put the cutest scarf around the squirrels neck. Mom loves this squirrel and really feels loved and cared for at Brookdale! I am just so thankful for the loving caring staff here!

The staff and service at Brookdale Dublin are exceptional. They have an obvious and sincere love for their patients and show such compassion. The facility is cozy and welcoming, and every effort is made to make residents, friends and family comfortable and welcome. Their medical expertise with Alzheimer's and dementia is outstanding. Our entire family is so very grateful in particular to Natalie, Alesia, Sterling, CC and June. They went above and beyond every day.
