So grateful I found Summerfield of Roseville memory care for my mom. The facility is small but immaculate with a lively garden area. The staff treats residents with kindness and dignity (I visit daily). Jane makes sure my mom is engaged and happy as do all the staff including the front desk. My mom feels independent and taken care of. Couldn't have found a better place!

My experience here at Summerfield memory care of Roseville has been uplifting and cultivating. The ambiance of home and family, where the caregivers have the remarkable ability to care for and most of all put love into their work. You walk through the halls and will hear conversations between residents and caregivers like they are family. It is truly amazing to see the residents happy and cared for. If you have a family member or know of one that would fit into our family, come on down and let us take it from here.

Making the decision to move my dad into a memory care facility was difficult, but after I found Summerfield, I knew he was home! Jane and her staff have put my mind and heart at ease with the care they provide and open communication they have shown. Jane took a lot of time to get to know my dad prior to moving in, so that once he was there, they felt like they had a solid foundation to support his transition. Their nurse, Jasmine is also wonderful and has supported my dad’s transition to ensure he gets all of his medication and care needed. Consistent updates from the facility about how he’s engaging in activities, making connections with staff and his overall mood has helped me be able to fully support Summerfield.

Somerford Place deserves more than five stars. Hundreds more! Our mom was diagnosed with dementia and we knew she needed more care than we could provide. In addition to memory loss negatively impacting her daily activities, Mom was becoming withdrawn and apathetic. We researched and visited many memory care facilities before selecting Somerford Place. Although several offered quality programs, Somerford stood out from the beginning. The facility is warm and cheerful. The activities are designed with flexibility to suit each individual resident. Everyone we interacted with was responsive, helpful, and caring. Before we moved Mom into her new home, all of the staff members learned her name, her needs and preferences, and names of all of her local family members. Mom has been living at Somerford for over two months now, and in that short time, we’ve seen a huge change! Her physical health has improved, she engages in memory activities, socializes with other residents, enjoys the garden, and most important… she has her smile back. Family members visit regularly, and are always welcomed in. When we are not visiting, we’re kept up to date with calls and emails. I’d like to give a special thanks to Jane for her expertise and infinite patience answering endless questions, to Deborah for her professionalism and help with transition, to Mary for caring not only for mom, but the whole family, to Nadia for assisting with paperwork and insurance, and to all of the Somerford staff for continual attention and compassion. We are so very grateful!

I can not thank THE STAFF at my grandmas new apartment in the memory care unit for Alzheimers. I feel at home visiting when I can, per their protocols. Covid has put a damper on the staff and residents. I can see theyre giving it everything theyve got so we can visit. I love this place. They truly love your loved one like theyre their own family.We left behind a place I wont mention, to drive 40 extra minutes to visit with her where we KNOW shes taken care of and we are informed of her well being. Her medical power of attorney is always filled in when needed.THE BEST PLACE IS THIS PLACE for your loved one when you can no longer do it your self.5 stars isnt enough!!!Love and thank you,Ruths family and adopted granddaughter.

I would like to take a moment to thank the entire staff at Somerford Place of Roseville. You provided excellent care for my father during his 2 year stay.Somerford is very well managed and both my brother and I had numerous interactions with multiple staff members. Each interaction was very professional, and we truly felt like our needs, as well as our fathers needs, were extremely important to the staff and sincerely addressed. I feel like the staff bent over backwards to help our family. There were multiple occasions when we would stop in (pre Covid) to check on our father. We would watch from afar, typically without staffs knowledge and each staff member interacted with the residents with respect and genuine care. What an extreme blessing to leave our loved on in a facility that was staffed by such kind and dedicated human beings! I personally previewed numerous facilities before finding the perfect place for our father.There are many group activities for residents and our father reported that the food was excellent. The facility was extremely clean and well decorated. It felt and looked like a resort, but still felt like home.Something that was very special to me personally, was the frequent updates and pictures on their Facebook page. During Covid, visitation was kept to a minimum, so the frequent updates-pictures on the Facebook page were extremely comforting.My father recently passed, and I must say that we will miss our Somerford family. Well miss the friendly phone calls and emails regarding our fathers conditionI would, without hesitation, recommend Somerford Place of Roseville.

3rd year update - still 5 stars. I visit every day so I get to observe a lot of activities and have gotten to know the Staff and the other residents. This caring team gives my Mom the attention and compassion she needs - she is thriving to the best of her ability. The staff are proactive with great attention to detail. The Somerford team has been the ideal partner in providing the right care for my Mom.Year 3 update: Mom is on Hospice and is bed bound. The team still takes loving care of my Mom and have provided excellent healthcare keeping her comfortable. They have enabled me to Skype-video call to stay in touch and keep me informed. In difficult and vulnerable circumstances, Somerford has handled the pandemic as well as possible.

My wife was diagnosed with Dementia 7 years ago, while we were residing in Houston Texas. My oldest daughter convinced me to move to California so she could provide care for us. As her Dementia progressed, we decided she needed full time care. After we looked at several places, we were referred to Somerford Place. After a tour and speaking with the staff it was a no-brainer decision. Somerford was excellent. My wife has been a resident for a month and I can rest easy knowing that she is in loving hands. A great relief!

The Patient Care Directors leadership is exemplary, other facilities should emulate her kind of leadership.The patients rooms are huge and pristine which reflects a homey atmosphere. I searched many places and from my first contact everything about this place, the people and the facility, felt amazing. I felt a lot of fear about placing my mom anywhere. The staff created an awesome atmosphere where I was supported and both my mom and I felt safe and secure in the transition of her care. We needed to arrange transferring of care for our mother from home in Colorado to California. The entire staff assisted us so professional and lovingly. Thanks to Jill, Debora, Barbara, John (the chef), Tammy and last but not least, Jane. Mom has adapted very well, and has to some extent regained her singing, panio playing and interest in others. Everyone is respectful, and kind to Mom. I even observe the gentle considerate care provided to other neighbors in our community.

Jill, Barbara and Debbie that work at Somerford Place have been terrific from the moment we toured the facility. We were trying to find a place for my mother in an urgent matter and they helped us with the process and made use feel so at ease. We are truly blessed with the care that they and all the staff show the residents. They work with the Doctor for the best plan of care. My mother has made a big improvement from the day she arrived and I owe this to the loving care she receives, mom loves the activities and the nutritional meals. I would recommend this to anyone that is needing a great place for their elderly loved one.

After a review of a few facilities, I decided to place my mom at Somerford. The staff has been very friendly and prof. But importantly they look after the patients as guests there and stop to give them attention or guide them to their destination (within the facility of course). Plus outside services to care for grooming. Though my mom has only been there for a few months, she is looked after and involved in the activities; as much as she can be. A few other reasons; close to our health care provider, and their memory care program. I am please with Somerford Place.

My mom has been a resident of Somerford Place of Roseville for over 2 years. The staff, including the Directors, Caregivers, Nursing and Office Staff have always been very attentive to moms needs. They have also shown a lot of compassion for our family and include us in the decision making process when it comes to meeting moms needs. Several times during the year, Somerford invites the families to come celebrate holidays and special occasions with our loved ones. The Lifestyles program provides daily activities which helps to keep mom engaged and social. She struggled in these areas before but now enjoys and looks forward to going. We are very pleased with the care mom receives from Somerford Place. Mom says she feels happy and safe living there.

I had to make the sad decision to place a loved one in a memory care facility. I researched and visited many facilities to no satisfaction. I knew my search was over when I visited Sommerford Place Roseville. I was impressed when I walked in and more impressed when I met Deborah the facilities director. She made me feel certain that my search was over. I had trust in her from the beginning and she worked with me and my situation. The facility is clean and their is a loving and caring staff and group of directors. I have great faith in Tammy and Jill as well that they have the best interest of their residents at heart. I know this was the right decision because they are becoming family. Great job Sommerford!! You deserve better than a 5 star rating but thats the highest I could pick. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Mom is treated with kindness and patience. I have often seen her hugging the caregivers and she tells me how nice they are.They worry about her and always have time to address my concerns and to make suggestions for her care.She is clean, her hair well cared for and they even take the time to paint her nails a pretty color.The administration is just as involved in the care, I have seen the director of the facility helping an upset resident who is crying. Sitting with her, taking the time to settle her.Their kindness to the families of the residents is just as amazing. It is a tough time for all concerned and the staff of Somerford realize this and go far out of their way to help the families dealing with this difficult time.I really cant recommend this facility highly enough.

My mother had been a patient at Somerford for about a year. Overall I think that her care at the facility is very good. I do think that they are understaffed. These patients need more care than the average assisted living patient. There have been times when someone needed help eating, going to the restroom or with clothing and there were no staff around to help. The majority of the staff that they do have seem very good and seem to care about the patients.I recently heard that the monthly patient rates are increasing by $900 a month. This is disturbing and seems abit drastic.

I am giving this facility a very good rating because in my situation, they have been fantastic and a total God-send! My husband has FTD (frontotemporal dementia) and has been in the DayBreak program for almost 3 years. Because he is still relatively young energetic, he felt no need - desire to be in a memory-care environment, but the Marketing Director (at that time) helped me to formulate a plan to help him come in as a volunteer, which seemed to fit right into his DNA of helping others. As hes become more comfortable there, and his need for supervision and socialization have increased...his number of Volunteer days have also increased, which has given me renewed strength and perspective for this very demanding job of care-giving. All the staff....from the workers to the Directors... have been extremely helpful and understanding of his ever-changing moods and needs, and I have become very comfortable leaving him in their care. Even though my husband cannot fully participate in many of the LifeStyles activities, I can see that they are working very hard to engage the residents in stimulating experiences and conversations. No place is perfect, but for our familys needs...Somerford Place has been the perfect fit.

My mother has lived at Somerford Place for about a year. She has advanced alzheimers disease and is unable to do much for herself. She is totally dependent on the staff for all her needs. Since the onset of her disease she has resided at a number of care facilities. Somerford Place is by far the BEST !! The staff is always friendly, the environment is clean, food looks appetizing and my moms care has exceeded expectations. As I walk through the building I am always treated with respect, caring concern and a cheery attitude by all of the staff. My mother was recently hospitalized and the staff was amazing at going above and beyond to help me get her out of the hospital and back to her home. She was so miserable being away from Somerford. Upon arrival at Somerford after 5 days away she was greeted by all the staff as Annie helped me get her settled back in. Annie displayed such professionalism in getting her new meds recorded, instructing the staff and reassuring me that I had nothing to worry about. My mothers anxiety seemed to disappear as she was fussed over. There is no way to express how grateful I am for all the staff. From the Executive Director (Judy Rodrigues), who is amazing, to the janitors, cooks, care staff, nurses and med techs I have never had a negative experience. If you are looking for somewhere to care for your loved one, this is the place.
