Been here for a year so far and it offers a very carrying atmosphere from the staff and residents. From the very first day moving, ALL the staff knew me by name, though I hadn’t met most of them yet. The kitchen offers a varied menu and the ability have “alternate” food selections which was a big thing for me, having gastric reflux disease. I can still go out and buy groceries to supplement the three meals a day menu. There are a variety of activities, with exercise and games rooms, library and multipurpose room for social events, music, videos and special events including tai Chi, Yoga, and other instructor led health sessions. The suites have an ensuite washer and dryer which is a big plus, as well as a garbage room in all of the resident wings. The Villa is an inset of Beer Creek Park and has access to a viewing bridge over a water tributary of the creek with a few ducks for relaxing short weeks. There are bus stops out on 150th street for quick trips to either Surrey Central and Newton Shopping area for mobile residents ( buses are walker able ). Every two weeks there is a bus outing to a variety of shopping centres and park and beach areas in the warm months. Dean ( resident )

My mother lived here for a few years and unfortunately passed a few months ago. She had quite a few run ins with the owner/head staff at the Villa over the years. As an example, in the last few months, my mother’s toilet kept overflowing. There were a few apartments with over flowing/blocked toilets all around the same time. My mother was often left to clean the mess herself and staff took forever to come fix the toilet leaving her with no access to a bathroom. Final recommendation was that she should not use toilet paper when going to the bathroom?! My mother was not well and did not want to be hospitalized, but wanted to pass away in her home. The owner found out and she went up to see my mother and completely berated her saying she had no right to die at home and needed to leave. Even once she passed away, [name removed] and her staff did everything they could to make the process difficult for me. She only allowed a 30 minute window for the funeral home to arrive and collect my mother. They reminded me a couple of times that I had to have this done during their very specific window of time and then they spoke to the funeral home staff when they arrived at the villa and told them they had 20 minutes to get out. In emptying the apartment, I was instructed that I needed to reserve the service elevator but the villa then only offered a time slot the evening that my mother died, or 3 days later because the elevator was “fully booked” until then. Since I needed to get this done fairly quickly, we rushed and got the apartment emptied in 8 hours to avoid the 3 day delay. In the end, we were actually moving the belongs after 8 pm. Bear creek then claims to have waited 4 weeks, after I vacated and handed in the keys, to go in an check the apartment. So it took 6 weeks to get the deposit refund. Emails often go unanswered and require frequent follow up. I am still waiting for one item for the estate files and the villa has not even responded to my last 3 follow up emails. My experience with the villa truly made an already difficult and emotional situation, way more difficult. The lack of compassion was astounding.

Heads up: if you're thinking of putting up your loved ones in this place, be ware that the Hindu Temple immediately north (Sri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Surrey) makes ridiculous amount of noise several times of year, for hours/days on end. The city seems unable or unwilling to stop them. The noise can be heard over 500 m away from the temple, so I can't imagine living next to it.

As a resident since 2021 of Bear Creek Villa for Independent Living, I feel compelled to share my recent Mother's experience with you! To adequately express my appreciation for our Mother's Day lunch and dinner is difficult; a simple Thank You just doesn't seem enough! Simply put, I believe our meals were obviously put together with serious thought to nutritional value, presentation and definitely Love. My only issue might be that the dessert portions were too generous but I wasted nothing! So a big ThankYou! I'm especially appreciative of the straw sun hat AND the 'Sukin' hydration elixir…my face drinks it in! Again, Thank You ! With gratitude for your 'Constant Care and Concern! Bear Creek Villa is a rare find in a sea of independent living facilities. The staff is fantastic, very welcoming, attentive and genuinely care about the residents. The food is very good with lots of variety, the facility is very clean, and there is always something for the residents to participate in. And with the added services from Bear Home Care services my father was very comfortable and happy while living at Bear Creek Villa. I would and have highly recommended Bear Creek Villa to anyone looking for a caring new home.

As someone who volunteered at a retirement home in the past, I can say that Bear Creek Villa steps it up a notch in terms of what they offer. Residents seemed very happy as I interacted with them.

Bear Creek was my family's top choice for my grandfather. Laurie took us on a tour of the facility including its game and hobby rooms, large gardens, spacious suites, and a dinner in their private dining room. Professional, helpful, clean, and we were approached unprompted at several points by residents who were curious and happy to see a tour taking place. Overall we had a wonderful experience and the selection process with Laurie's help took a lot of stress and anxiety out of the process. I fully recommend BCV to anyone looking for alternative care options.

Bear creek villa is great retirement home for seniors to live in and be taken care of. Their service provides more than care, they provide company! Bear creek villa workers make sure everyone feels included and welcomed. Bear creek villa is a retirement home on the park, so alot of the seniors like to take walks and be with nature. I think Bear Creek Villa is very friendly and inclusive. I enjoy the tea socials where we drink tea and eat snacks. I also enjoy the mouth-watering foods that they make.

My Mom has lived at Bear Creek for the last almost 5 years. The owner of the residence is strong, caring, organized and wonderful at her position. She is hands on, involved and has been personally involved alot with my Mom. During these difficult times, Serene has shown great leadership. The staff are wonderful, loving people who made my Mom feel at home. They always have had my Moms best interests at heart. Some of the staff took extra interest in my Moms care. These staff will always have a special place in our hearts. Unfortunately, my Mom is being moved to 24 hour care soon. Our family would like to thank everyone at Bear Creek for the wonderful experiences my Mom has shared. It is with great sadness that we are moving her.

My Wife, Ilene and I stopped in on Tuesday to just get information on the Villa, it was absolutely incredible, we not only received information but were invited to stay for dinner. Diane and the staff were amazing and the meal was incredible too. We looked at a good size suite and pleasantly surprised.Have looked at several places and this place was by far the best. Thank you to Diane and the staff.
