As a visitor at Anchor Pointe, what always stands out to me is the variety activities offered for residents! The staff here curate a very social atmosphere. Special themed events are held weekly in the common area with special menus and decor- and there is always great resident participation and engagement.

Our family decided that it was time for my Mom to go to a retirement home. We did our research and visited the majority of retirement homes in St. Catharines. We are so glad that we decided on Anchor Pointe. It is an amazing facility, home away from home. When we first went on a tour we were impressed with how management knew the residents names, the friendliness of the staff, and the happiness of the residents. The entrance to Anchor Pointe is welcoming, management’s office is right at the front doors so they are aware of everyone coming and going. So it gives the feeling of safety and security. The dining room is a warm cozy beautiful bright setting right at the front entrance. There is a sitting area just off the entrance that has beautiful skylights and is where events happen and leads out to a big patio area surrounded by nature. There is a lovely kitchen on the main floor with multiple tables so if you have family or friends there is a place to visit comfortably with some of the conveniences of your own kitchen looking out onto a beautiful setting. The home has bright wide clean halls decorated with beautiful art work. There is music playing in the halls. There are cozy little sitting rooms and a complimentary laundry room on each floor. We looked at several style of rooms and picked one for our budget. All of the rooms were wonderful. The rooms are cleaned weekly and the cleaning staff are so sweet. Our mom had a stroke several years ago which affected her speech. We were concerned about her going to the dining room and having to sit with other people. We hired the amazing psw service that provides in house care to porter our Mom to lunch and dinner. Another great decision we made. They are reliable and friendly. Jennifer has been amazing with our Mom making suggestions to make meal time easier and more comfortable for her. Management and the wonderful, kind dining room staff are so good to our Mom. They also have taken the time to understand the situation and make my Mom’s transition to the dining room a wonderful experience. The meals are incredible and they smell delicious. Our Mom loves the food. The residents are offered a wide variety of activities that vary every day, there is something for everyone, exercise, walking groups, special talks, entertainment brought in, shopping brought in, church services, happy hour, outings for example last week was to The Watering Can in Vineland. These are happy residents. Some of them have pets, there are a few residents that meet daily to visit. It’s lovely!!! It is such a welcoming, warm safe environment.

My 95 year old Mom moved to Anchor Pointe several years ago. My Mom immediately felt comfortable in her new surroundings making many friends and enjoying the multitude of activities provided by Anchor Pointe. The buildings are beautiful and well cared for. The healthy food is varied and delicious. My Mom truly feels safe and at home at Anchor Pointe. A special thanks to the incredible staff and management at Anchor Pointe who treat my Mom like family, who are always available to assist her and who do their best to ensure a very happy environment for all of their residents. Would highly recommend!

We’ve only been at Anchor Point for a little over a month but it already feels like home. Both staff and residents have made us feel welcome. Coming from a very large home, I thought it would take some time to adjust, but we’ve made so many new friends and there’s always something to do so adjusting was not a problem. The rooms are spacious with lots of storage space and I really don’t miss having to clean a huge house or keep track of bill payments, repairs or cooking meals. No regrets, we definitely made the right decision ‘ (Edited to add) We have been at Anchor Pointe for over a year now and are still very happy with our decision to live here. Still no regrets

Our client completed a trial stay at Anchor Pointe and felt at home within the first week! She decided to make Anchor Pointe her home and has blossomed in the last 6 weeks due to the attentiveness of the AP staff and the lovely residents. She raves about her suite, the food, and the entertainment at every visit! The location is excellent, and the grounds have a park-like setting. Everything is very well maintained, and the staff go above and beyond to help in any way possible. I'd give Anchor Pointe 6 stars if I could!

Anchor Pointe is definitely a great choice for independent living. The ambience, food, staff and surroundings are stellar. The homey feel of the units makes moving from your home an easier transition and the grounds are extraordinary. Surrounded by greenery and across from JayCee Park make the outdoors as inviting as what lays within. I strongly recommend this community.

My Dad’s new home for almost the last year. Anchor Pointe is a caring retirement community. The core leadership team come to work every day with the intention of doing their very best. It took my father a couple months to settle in after leaving the family home of 51 years! I can confidently say he enjoys living here, he is always acknowledged and treated with respect. Food: it’s not my Mom’s cooking “, (she passed in winter 2023.) The food is solid, lots of choices at each meal. The poor chef has to cater to SOOOO many preferences and be cognizant of people’s different health conditions. Not an easy task. I just asked my Dad about the food- he said I can always find something I enjoy. My Dad does not participate in many of the wonderful social activities. (A quiet man). The coordinator who oversees this area does a simply phenomenal job organizing activities. I highly recommend Anchor Pointe.

Carmel took us for a tour a few days ago. My sister and I were really impressed. We could see our mom being very happy there, and well cared for. We loved the atmosphere and amenities so much, we immediately booked another tour for our mom.

I'm looking for a independent senior facility and I went to Anchor Point today in St Catharines. The outside of the building is immaculate in the gardens are well taken care of. The gentleman that showed me throughout was knowledgeable and very professional. He describes all of the amenities and pointed out the various function rooms. IT IS A VERY CLEAN FACILITY. All in all I appreciated the time spent by the staff to show me the various amenities. This facility pretty much includes everything that you would ever want in the rental price with no surprises

I visited a friend at Anchor Pointe. Great location across from Jaycee Park with easy access for residents to cross. Large, comfortable well kept apartment. My friend, who was very independent during his stay, enjoyed his time at Anchor Pointe; going to the dining room for his meals, socializing with residents and staff. He spoke very highly of the staff.

My Dad has been at Anchor Pointe for almost 2 years and is quite happy in his cozy apartment. He enjoys some of the activities he chooses to attend and the comraderie with the other residents. The staff is excellent and is always there if needed.

I have had friends and a relative live at Anchor Pointe and I am impressed with the staff, activities, rooms and friendship opportunities. I would certainly consider going there when I need more care. When I visit I ask everyone how they like it and thus far I have received very positive answers.

This past spring/summer after her accident mom moved in to Anchor Pointe, our family was so grateful for the great care she received. She loved the meals and enjoyed the multitude of activitiesshe was living her best lifeso much so that she is moving back in full time in a few weeks.

I had the privilege of spending sometime at Anchor Pointe, both in the past with patients and most recently with friends. I can tell you first hand that the food is homemade and delicious. Really nice spacious apartments, and staff are like family to the community there. This independent retirement community is a buzz of activities. Should you know someone personally who would like to downsize and still live like royalty, then this is the place for them.

My mother lived at Anchor Pointe for 15 years. She actively participated in many of the wonderful activities that were provided for the residents. She enjoyed the exercise program, she created a small group that crafted a quilted wall hanging that is still there, she enjoyed many of the bus journeys around Niagara and participated in their many community outreach programs. She also enjoyed her Friday morning hair appointments, a ritual that she had her entire life! The staff became like family, not only to her but to our family as well. We felt comfort in knowing that mom was well cared for and safe, even during tough times like the pandemic. I can not say enough good things about Anchor Pointe and the entire team. I highly recommend this as a home for anyone who wants to enjoy their retirement living!

A young man in the kitchen stole my heart while I was visiting my parents. They have since passed away but I keep coming to this establishment everyday just to see him. Even though he doesn't seem to notice me, I still get flustered everytime I see him. He reminds me of my youth when things were simpler, when I didn't have a single worry in my mind. The winds of time haven't been very kind to me, but he has offered me respite in these hard times. Even if my day hasn't been going very well, seeing him makes it the best day of my life. I haven't felt like this since my teenage years, so this is for you Jaloleddin. Hope we can join each others embrace one day and live out the rest of our lives together as one.

I have been here, walking my dog, only on the outside. From what I find out, they take excellent care of their tenants. A little too expensive for me. I only live on government benefits. But if you want to live here, after owing and selling your property, it is a good location to settle down for a much better and easier life.

The staff are superb. When any issue has arisen it is resolved by the on site manager and his staff. Anchor Pointe in St Catharines is far superior to any retirement home that we examined in Toronto and St Catharines. You might see the odd comment about food recently due to turnover in the kitchen but that situation is being addressed. It is a challenge to serve well over 100 people at each meal offering various choices and catering to the various dietary, medical and allergy needs and preferences. All new furnishings in the dining area make for a nice atmosphere and were a pleasant surprise for my mother. The needs of the elderly are challenging but the staff, while run off their feet, are most pleasant and accomodating. Its almost an impossible task to create perfection with the requirements of so many diverse people but it's not for any lack of effort by this manager and his staff. A+++
