I have been a resident of the Chateau de Champlain in Saint John for about four months now and I just want to complement the staff of the residence. From the night, porters to the management supervisors, I have yet to experience anything but kindness, patience, and genuine helpfulness. Mostly, I appreciate how everyone goes out of their way to assist all the residents here.

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit and tour the Chateau de Champlain, New Brunswick retirement home. My wife’s sister is moving into the facility within the next two weeks and we visited from Halifax to view the property. Shirley W, the Community Sales Manager, provided a wonderful welcoming, description of the facility and services, site visit (including the ‘to be’ occupied suite), the introduction of (most of the staff) and arranged a wonderful, complimentary lunch, with a Chateau ambassador (Helen). The presentation was a wonderful experience. The facility is clean, the staff are friendly and dedicated to making the occupants comfortable and safe. All our questions were addressed and we departed the facility within a positive feeling.

Met with Shirley the community sales manager today who discussed the amenities the Chteau de Champlain has to offer to my elderly father who would like to become a resident. Shirley is a very professional, personable person who explained the whole process in an easy to understand manner. I am at Chateau independent living for three months of recovery as much of the past year I was in the hospital and prior to that I had a hip replacement. The facility has been great and good support from the staff has been appreciated. Food has been of good quality and variety. I have made pretty good progress in my recovery and I really appreciate this situation being made available to me. Of particular help has been the presence in the facility of Kindred Home Care with whom arrangements can be made for any special services beyond the standard independent living.

I would actually give this 3.5 stars. I have been living here for a year and leaving. The apartments are very nice. But the food is very inconsistent and often unappealing. - especially for the evening meal. The home made bread at the lunch meal if good. Housekeeping is like the food - if you have the good ones you get a decent job and if not you don’t. Staff are nice and residents are pleasant but this is becoming more of a nursing home than a true independent living facility. I don’t need it but after observing, Kindred’s service for those that do is like the food - inconsistent .. Some are wonderful and others don’t seem to care - similar to the dining room service. It’s definitely a better choice than others I think with patios, balconies, etc but be prepared to buy some groceries. I’ve enjoyed the company of any here and will miss them. Overall, it’s a nice place and if the food were better it would make a huge difference.

The staff are very attentive and go out of their way to help the new resident settle in and feel very welcomed. The apartment is very nice and cozy with resident controlled heating and cooling, large spacious closets, large bathroom with overhead warming lamp and access to outside patio plus other amenities. The Chateau is a very senior and family friendly residence. Thank you for all your help.

Mom will be 90 this year and she has lived with family since dad died over 10 yrs ago. We were not sure how she would adjust but this has been a wonderful experience. I talk to Mom every weekend and she has nothing but good reports to share. Ice cream socials to happy hour with friends; there is something for everyone. The outgoing and the more reserved. Moms unit is perfect for her life now. She loves the balcony and is always watching out the window for deer. I am so happy she decided on Chateau de Champlaon. I would highly recommend it for good value, quality and outstanding care and attention for our loved ones.

Sherbrooke Heights in Peterborough, ON is an amazing residence for Seniors. From the moment we reached out, they provided us with support to find the perfect unit. A wide variety of activities are offered throughout the weekplus, the staff know each and every resident personally, touching base with them regularly. The dinig room provides delicious meals, with a variety of options in the event a resident isn't keen on the main being offered. Such a wonderful, friendly place for our loved ones to live!

This is a tremendous facility, with very professional and caring staff, excellent in-house amenities and service offerings, and endless planned activities and social events for all residents. The apartment quality is noteworthy; apartments are very comfortable, functional and very well maintained thanks to a weekly housekeeping service. Of particular note is the excellent dining service offering in the building; there are a great variety of very well prepared and nourishing meals served three times per day in a well appointed and comfortable dining room for all to enjoy. My father moved into the Chateau de Champlain this past October at the young age of 94 and thanks to all of the Chateau de Champlain staff, his fellow residents and the home care services provided by Kindred Home Care who have are located in the Chateau, his transition to apartment living has been a great experience to date. I would highly recommend the Chateau de Champlain for all seniors who are looking to transition to a comfortable, social and very well catered independent living environment.

Absolutely the best experience transitioning my mother from her own home into her new apartment! The staff are amazing to her and everyone who walks through the doors! The environment is friendly and inviting.. Mom has emersed herself into so many of the daily activities and the Chef prepared food is like fine dining. My mother also receives home care services as well... Professional and compassionate care givers!! The stress of taking care of all the needs of an aging parent has practically been lifted... I feel that she can live her best life now and so can I. I would highly recommend Chateau de Champlain, Saint John.. 100% !!!

After experiencing a stroke that rendered me left-side paralyzed and being in hospital for four months I have totally enjoyed being in this lovely, safe and secure residence for almost 2 years and I am grateful to everyone here—staff and residents for making me feel comfortable and welcome in this kind, supportive and very caring atmosphere. I have found a congenial and generous group of people here to be with to rest and recuperate and learn to manage new physical restrictions. Everyone member of the team here at the Chateau de Champlain is most excellent!

Dad has slowly been settling into the Chateau... not quite 2 weeks now. Most of the time he enjoys the food. More importantly, staff and residents have been kind and very supportive in helping Dad to fit into his new enviroment. He misses his old friends, but am hoping he will be content in his new home. I'm thankful for a community like Chateau de Chamlain.

I was looking for retirement living options for my Dad and he fell in love with the feel of the Chateau. The staff and residents alike were friendly and welcoming. When he moved in the entire family felt like guests at a hotel, everything was ready, beautifully cleaned and anything we needed was quickly secured. It has been a wonderful experience for my Dad and he is really enjoying the amazing meals everyday. As well as the trail around the facility and the activities they offer everyday.

Our experience with the Chateau de Champlain home has been wonderful. Mom has received the best care while making many friends. The staff and personal support workers have gone up and above to help Mom and family with whatever we needed. They have supported us through a terrible family loss. We will never be able to convey our appreciation for everything they have done for our family.

My mom recently moved into Chateau de Champlain, and it has been a five-star experience at every turn. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and it's clear that there's a great camaraderie between everyone who works and lives there. We sold our house and downsized dramatically by moving to a 2 bedroom apartment at Chateau de Champlain. No more cooking, no more yard work, no more snow clearing and no more house work – whoopee! We’re about 5 weeks into our new home at Chateau de Champlain, Saint John and consider ourselves totally settled, happy and really enjoying a new relaxed lifestyle. We have found the management and staff here to be wonderfully helpful, kind and cooperative. They are also unbelievably hardworking to make life better for residents here. Our sincere thanks to Chateau de Champlain.

We moved my mother here to downsize in November of 2022. Cant say enough good things about the place or the staff. I liked to call it her retirement all included resort. Jeanette is my go to person for any issues I have had and she is always there to work at getting the issue fixed. Highly Recommend Chateau Champlain if you are looking for an easier lifestyle to downsize.

Staff at Chateau have been very helpful, from offering an apartment when we were in a crunch, to allowing us to view the apartment on two occasions prior to the move, to serving a meal to the resident and myself prior to the move, to providing guidance on the amount of furniture to bring and to being very prompt to assist with setting up the apartment (hanging pictures and making other small adjustments). The staff have assisted with transportation to required medical appointments. They are always friendly and courteous and it is a very welcoming safe environment.

My Mom had to leave her home due to a fall. It was very difficult, but she made the decision to sell her home. Upon viewing several retirement complexes, Mom knew immediately that Chateau de Champlain was the place for her. It was welcoming immediately, Jeanette was both knowledgeable and understanding of Mom’s medical needs regarding her eye sight, the building was bright and clean, and the model suite well appointed. As the family, we felt a huge weight off our shoulders because our Mom could live securely at the Chateau, with regular meals, the lifeline button, the activities, and the kind staff. Mom has lived here for 18 months, and she continues to live securely - a major concern for her family. She loves the entertainment, the bus rides, the opportunity to go to Mass, the safe surroundings. We have recommended the Chateau to many people based on Mom’s experience.
