Our students from Sparks Music Academy regularly visit Scarborough Retirement Residence to perform for the residents, and every single time we leave with such warm feelings in our hearts. The staff are always incredibly welcoming, kind, organized, and genuinely happy to see the students. They make everyone feel comfortable from the moment we walk in. You can truly feel that they care deeply about the residents and work hard to create a positive atmosphere. What stands out the most is seeing the residents themselves ” smiling, talking with each other, laughing, enjoying meals together, participating in activities, and really feeling like a community. There is such a warm and lively environment in the residence. Many residents sing along during performances, clap, share stories, and show so much appreciation to the children. It is beautiful to see a place where seniors are not isolated, but surrounded by care, friendship, conversation, music, and joy. Our students always look forward to coming back because the residents and staff make every visit so meaningful and special. This retirement residence has the most beautiful energy that is present from the moment you enter. The team is extremely attentive and truly care about the health and well-being of the residents. They continue to go above and beyond expectations.

Family. This is what you can consider yourself upon moving into this retirement residence. I moved my uncle here just over four years ago and he has been treated with the utmost kindness and attention one could ask for. Sadly he recently passed away, however his passing due to old age was made more comfortable by the love and dedication of the wonderful staff. I cannot give enough kudos to all management, care workers and fellow residents who assisted my wife and I in the final day's of his life and in the stress free chapel service to honour him. My sincerest gratitude to all at Scarborough retirement residence.

I just got off the phone with a lady named Maureen. She was extremely empathetic and went out of her way to give me info on other senior services housing as my aunt is low-income and won't be able to afford to live at this location. She had more compassion than the social workers I had been dealing with. If the staff at this place is anything like her, the people living here are in really good hands. So impressed!

Julian, the Head Chef at Scarborough Retirement Residence is to be commended for his culinary excellence. He and his team of sous chefs are doing a wonderful job of preparing and serving consistently high quality, nutritious meals for the all residents. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, my mother (age 93) has never had an unsatisfactory meal. Everything is fresh, delicious and hot/cold. Occasions and birthdays are observed too. The staff is very accommodating and willing to customize meals and they always remember what my mother likes. Tea and coffee are always piping hot. Thank you to Julian and all dining room staff.

I assisted my friend with her move in to her new home at Scarborough Retirement Residence yesterday. I know that she had toured several retirement residences before making her final decision. She had also spent two weeks a month earlier to ensure she was making the right decision. As I entered the building, I was quite pleased with the cleanliness of the home. The hallways were well lit and the interaction between the staff and the residents was heart-warming. I spent 3 hours there and observed residents and staff in different areas. It was clear to me that the residents were well cared for. Everywhere I turned, I noticed different members of staff chatting with the residents and calling them by name. I loved that! I was also quite impressed to see the menu as well as other notices that were posted on the bulletin boards. I left there feeling quite confident that my friend had chosen the right place. Had I been looking for a retirement residence to live, I would not hesitate in making this my home, and believe me, my standards are very high!

I had the privilege of staying there for a week while my cousin was being transferred to long term care. I can't say enough good things about SRR - They have done a tremendous job of creating a welcoming community and a true home for the residents!

During my recent visit to this retirement residence, I was truly impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and warm ambiance. The lunch that was served to me was not only delicious but also beautifully presented with great attention to detail. The staff members were incredibly accommodating and the facility was efficiently organized, making me feel right at home. I wholeheartedly recommend this center and would give it a glowing five-star rating.

My mom has been a resident at SRR for close to 3 years. This place is extremely well run and puts the care and comfort of its residence first. The staff are very kind and empathetic and this approach is seen at every level of the organization. From the ownership to the facility support person the residents are the number one priority. This last year during the pandemic has been extremely difficult for all seniors homes but I’m happy to say my mom and her fellow residents have been kept safe and healthy throughout the ordeal. SRR follows protocols to the letter but is also innovative in delivering the enrichment activities and services that are so important to the well being of the residents. We would recommend SRR without reservation to anyone looking at moving into this residence.
