Entire building needs fresh paint. The dirty rugs are being replaced by flooring finally. No central air, very hot for the residents and the staff. Dirty disgusting chairs in the front lounge tv room, that should be tossed or re-covered. Their brochures state at least 2 people on staff at all times, not true, only 1 person overnight, should be 2 people for emergencies and safety. On going education should be provided to staff to help them deal with residents mental and health issues. It can be draining on staff and could cause burn-out. Might be able to keep staff, and have a more educated group when better taken care of. Once staff is taken care of, the residents are better cared for. Win-win.

I recently visited a friend at Cumberland and I was appalled at the condition of the place. The grounds were unkept, grass not mowed. The outside of the building needed repair, such as sagging eavestroughs. The windows were filthy. The hallways and some common areas were badly in need of fresh paint. The building lacks central air conditioning and those residents that cannot afford an extra 100:00$ cannot have a window unit. Acceptable areas I saw were the dining room at the front entrance and the chapel. Inspectors need to look a little further.
