I had the pleasure of doing a presentation at Vistamere yesterday after visiting this beautiful community previously. What a wonderful atmosphere! As soon as you walk in the door you're welcomed warmly, and are treated to a view of their expansive meeting area. Staff know residents by name, activities are plentiful, and the beautiful grounds offer not only exercise but incredible spots to visit or find solitude. And the food! From the homemade soup to the beautiful entrees and deserts, the residents are treated to wonderful treats throughout the day. If you're thinking of moving to a retirement community I highly recommend you check this one out!

I had the pleasure to perform stand-up comedy this afternoon at Vistamere Retirement Home. The residents were a delight to perform to with lots of smiles and laughter. Kim Routledge and Joan Heffernan are such a joy to work with. They are both friendly and supportive. I can understand why the residents seem so happy with that kind of staff. I have attended an Open House at Vistamere and have met Kim at several senior events in the community.and she and Joan are truly amazing!

My mother moved to Vistamere last month. We appreciated Kim for being so wonderfully helpful and supportive before, during, and after the move, and she has been an excellent communicator whenever we had questions or, even more importantly, often before we knew all the questions we needed to ask. Since the move, the Vistamere staff have been warm and attentive, and we want to especially thank Jessica, Heidi, Julie, and Maya for welcoming my mom into her new home as they see her every day in the dining room, and several more we could mention. Thank you all! The whole residence including mom's new space is clean, bright, freshly renovated, and professional, and it's great to see my mom settling in, making some new friends and starting to participate in the many interesting activities provided here.

In 2007 due to my father’s Alzheimer’s my mother & father moved in to Vistamere, shortly after my father passed away. My mother 82 loved living at Vistamere so much she refused to leave. Over the years Vistamere has become her home now at 100 years of age she still will not leave the place she calls her family, the care she receives is personal and unmatched anywhere else, she plays bridge often, reads peacefully in the foyer, has a small area in front of her suite that she gardens, enjoys the entertainment that is provided , loves the other resident’s pets, the food is excellent as is the community itself. Management and staff are helpful and dedicated to their clients, many stay for their entire careers and never leave. It is just the best decision we could have made as a family to secure a happy final chapter for both our parents.

My mom, age 78, reluctantly moved into Vistamere in July 2025. The transition process with Kim was smooth and she helped our whole family feel comfortable with this new stage of our mom’s life. They provide full room cleaning, all meals, and a wide variety of activities and events. From what I have seen the kitchen staff go out of their way to make the residents feel heard and are so sweet. If needed there is nursing care at additional price. I also appreciate when residents are sick they bring them food to their rooms to avoid eating in the main dining hall exposing others. Anytime we’ve had concerns, Tessa has been diligent in sourcing a solution, and is always pleasant and professional. Our mom has made several new friends and consistently attends bingo and euchre. She has also gone on outings, which has been wonderful to see. Vistamere has truly made this feel like home. I recently attended three of their Christmas events and was so pleased to see the thoughtful, lovely activities they offer for residents and their families ’ I would absolutely recommend Vistamere. Thank you for all you do!

This past Saturday, I was so privileged to take part in Vistamere's amazing craft show. After being a jewelry vendor for over 10 years, I have to say this is one of the best events I've ever done. Everything was beautifully decorated, the food was just delicious from all the vendors plus the amazing chef. The Snow Queen and Snow King were so fun, along with lovely Christmas music and the incredible warmth of the amazing staff. The vendors were really diversified and so friendly. I recently stayed at Vistamere for respite care post surgery. I can’t say enough good things about the facility and staff . Kim made my transition from hospital to Vistamere seamless ( even when my dates changed due to surgery ) . She was amazing to work with and so accommodating . All the nursing staff was amazing ( shout out to Rose ) as well as the front desk staff , Charlene , Angela , Tessa etc all made me feel welcome and cared for . The food was delicious and when I made my way to the dining room finally , the staff in there were WONDERFUL too . Special thanks to Claire , Julie and Lanni . I honestly couldn’t have picked a better place to recover and heal . Even Nick the maintenance man was friendly and helpful . Thank you - you all are appreciated more than you know . If I’ve forgotten abyone , i apologize . Just know that you are all remarkable !

Hello my name is Cherry Collins and I had the pleasure to stay at Vistamere, this lovely homey residence after my 2nd knee surgery. The nursing staff were absolutely amazing, bringing me pills at 2am, 4am, 6am + keeping my ice machine filled. They were kind + comforting during my stay. The dining room staff were cheerful + uplifting and Kim was a delight to work with. Front office + maintenance were most helpful too. I can highly recommend this lovely homey residence. My parents Joe and Alice Rayos, have been living at Vistamere for just under 2 months. They have always been active in their community so it was a challenging transition moving to Vistamere. However, they have been settling in slowly and feeling positive about their move. This is mainly due to the friendly atmosphere that Vistamere provides. The staff are very helpful and understanding of their needs for example the maintenance man, Nick has been very responsive. The full time servers in the dining room know exactly what they prefer. The soup and dessert are very good. The housekeeping is excellent. My parents have found a nice group of fellow seniors that they can socialize with and the entertainment is very good. Overall, this makes my parents happy and my moms say that a happy resident makes a happy community .

My 92 year old mom reluctantly moved into Vistamere 3 months ago. It was a very difficult decision for her to make. Kim was very patient and understanding about my mom's situation and was very accommodating with us, as we visited multiple times. I have noted a marked difference in my moms disposition and outlook which I can attribute to her time at Vistamere. She takes part in multiple activities that are offered to the 'resident's, she has made multiple friends with other resident's and has adjusted very well. The facility is freshly renovated and the suites are spacious with lots of natural light. The staff is always courteous and friendly with smiles for everyone. It is relatively small which adds to the feel of community, with everyone able to get to know everyone else. The food is good and plentiful. I would not hesitate to recommend Vistamere to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

My 91-year-old aunt recently moved into Vistamere Retirement Residence, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and warmth she has received. The staff is wonderful, from the initial tour with Kim, to the moment she arrived, the staff at Vistamere went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and at home. They have truly made a positive impact on her overall well-being. The community at Vistamere is wonderful, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among the residents. There is a nice variety of activities led by an enthusiastic staff (shout out to Joan) and events catering to different interests, keeping my aunt engaged and providing opportunities for her to build new friendships. The newly renovated, large bright living spaces are not only well-maintained but also designed with the comfort and safety of the residents in mind. My aunt regularly comments about her enjoyable dining experience. She is not only fond of the variety of meals but truly enjoys the communal dining atmosphere as it adds a social element to mealtime, creating an opportunity for residents to come together, share stories, and enjoy delightful conversations. Vistamere Retirement Residence has exceeded our expectations, and I am grateful for the peace of mind it brings to our family knowing that my aunt is in such capable and caring hands.

I recently visited Vistamere this past December for their open house and holiday market. This residence has been in my neighborhood for several years and I have never really had a chance to tour. I was told by their Sales Manager that the building had recently underwent a renovation and everything looks fantastic! Their suites are bright and spacious. The common areas were cozy, especially with the fireplace going, and the building was busy and full of life. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I was able to make a few gift purchases from the local vendors at the market for the upcoming holidays. I look forward to attending their next event.

If you are looking for an active retirement residence Vistamere is NOT for you. Very nice looking suites if you don’t mind visits from ants and earwigs. Elegant but cold and uncomfortable dining room with awful food. Maybe a change of head chef is in order because frankly what they serve is unacceptable. The only real outdoor space is an inner courtyard which could be lovely but is so overgrown it is hard to walk around. Activities are minimal and the place is dead after 6.30 pm. It’s more like a nursing home than a retirement residence. Get the feeling the place is run on a shoe string and it shows. The only positive thing is the staff who, on the whole, are extremely pleasant.

Meals are good and do not have to pay to have meals delivered to your room like all the other residence in Oakville if you cannot make it down to the dinning room. Allot of amenities are included into your monthly rent, not like the other retirement residences in Oakville .

We found a lovely, caring home at Vistamere for our elderly Mom and her little dog. I've shared many tasty meals here when I visit and the food is nutritious and delicious. You can get vegetarian or GF or DF if you need it. A typical meals starts off with a fresh salad and restaurant style entrees. The meats are melt-in-your-mouth tender, so important for seniors. All the staff is very caring and attentive.
