Reviews Cactus Valley Retirement Resort
May 2026
Cactus Valley is the "almost perfect place" for me to live. I love the fact that I don't have to cook, and that 3 healthy meals are provided each day. Some things are not cooked to my taste - like baby food quality vegetables - but I'll go for that in return for not having to cook! Cactus Valley is an attractive residence, but things are starting to show wear. (7 years is a long time to expect things to be like new.) Equipment replacements and scheduled maintenance is a must with so many people moving in and moving out. Upgrades in security need to be evaluated for outdoor lighting, security gates, and strangers coming and going. This facility is meant to be a retirement resort for independent seniors. Quality entertainment is regularly provided. Lots of games and activities are offered to keep us socializing as a community. But I also treasure the fact that as an independent retiree, I can do things on my own and not feel pressured to be a "joiner." I like the fact that pets are allowed, but dogs are restricted to the first floor so that they have a patio/back yard to play in. That makes sense. Pets are like family to many people, and I'm glad they can stay with their owners. There are some people who live here that are not at all independent. Some of them can't leave their rooms without a private care giver or are totally bedridden. I know we can't say no to people who want to live here and hire their own private helpers. But my personal preference is that these people have their own floor in the residence. My expectation when I moved in here was that I would be with lots of active, intelligent young seniors that would share many of my interests, and there really are many of those folks. But selfishly I didn't want to be reminded every single day that so many elderly people need assistance and that I will be faced with being in that condition way sooner than I want to be. Basically, Cactus Valley is like being on a mini cruise ship without floating on water. I haven't mentioned all the amenities yet, and there are a lot of them. I'll leave that to marketing, as our department has done a good job of that. Oh yes. One more thing - When corporate tightened our belts and cut down the budgets for the various departments, and at the same time increased our rent, a lot of people decided they weren't getting the quality they wanted for the money they were paying. So, they left. I have no idea if their new situations turned out better for them or not. My hope is that when the economy is better for everyone, we can be back to normal again.

This facility is beautiful, very well maintained and managed. The staff is superb and always friendly. There are many organized fun things to do here. You have to choose among several choices as to what you want to do each day. We have been here for 1 year now and after checking out 6 places a year ago we know this was the right choice for us. It would be good to have an outdoor activity for residents and visiting family. A bocce ball court would be low maintenance and a good way to get some exercise.

Cant say enough good stuff about this wonderful community. The spotlessly clean and beautiful interiors are impressive from the get-go. The inside Koi pond is a lovely touch. Staff and residents are welcoming and give a sense of warmth and family. There is always something fun and engaging going on. The food is simply fantastic! I highly recommend a visit and a "try it you'll love it" guest stay if you are looking for the best place to live in the Las Vegas area. You will not be disappointed!

Best resort in town hands down and the food is amazing
December 2025
Cactus Valley is actually what is pictured on the brochure. The residents are friendly and welcoming. The staff are AVAILABLE, ATTENTIVE, and are truly there for the residents. The community is large enough to feel open and spacious, but small enough to have that cozy, home, secure feel. The facilities are clean and smell lovely. The ambient vibes are welcoming. The food is actually good, which is a huge step up from other communities. I am a Care Giver of a resident, not a resident myself (I spend 6days a week, 12hours/day at Cactus valley), but I would be happy and relieved to have my retired aunts, uncles and parents call CV HOME! I love this community. Speak with Joyce about anything. Ask for Robert for help, advice or just to say Hi! Enjoy food prepared by Chef Anthony and enjoy the warm and inviting smiles of all the staff! Don’t just take my word for it, come on down, you won’t be disappointed!

Five stars to the wonderful facility and friendly staff and a wide variety of activities to keep the residents there active and engaged. Our parents love everything listed above and we are grateful. The two stars off is for their mandatory rule of wearing red on Fridays. As far as we understand, it might have been started by some residents there as a nice gesture to honor our military and veterans that could be participated voluntarily by residents. But somehow this practice went out of hand and became a mandatory rule enforced by those who choose to wear red on Fridays. My parents are super kind and polite folks and they are just not into throwing no’s in people’s face, but they are NOT into red. We are a family of patriots, and some of us served in the military and fought for our people’s right to wear whatever color they’d like to wear. Ironically, our parents have to suffer constant stress and even distress EVERY FRIDAY because they would be harassed by at least one of these red police’ if they venture outside of their unit on Fridays without wearing red. We hope the management of this property could take notice of this disturbing phenomenon that has been going on for a while and provide proper remedy/intervention to ensure every resident, not just our parents, could enjoy their senior living in peace and joy.

As the owner of Taly’s Mobile Notary & Apostille Services, I’ve had the pleasure of working with several residents at Cactus Valley Retirement Resort for Power of Attorney and Apostille documents. Every experience at this community has been exceptional. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and well-organized”truly a reflection of the thoughtful and caring team that runs it. The staff is always courteous, responsive, and goes above and beyond to ensure both residents and visitors are comfortable and supported. It’s a beautiful place where independence, dignity, and community come together. Highly recommended for families seeking quality senior living in Henderson.

After checking out several retirement facilities for our 86 year old mom we discovered that nothing could compare to Cactus Valley. Our consultant Shirell was so kind in explaining every detail about the facility to my mom. This place is wonderful & includes a movie theater, top notch entertainment, a variety of classes & the food options are wonderful. Chad the head chef & his team including Jay, Emma, Rasha make sure that everyone is taken care of. Shawn & Rich are the concierge & they are always available to answer any questions. April has great energy & is in charge of activities. There is a nice gym to work out or take classes in. Chuck is there to take care of any maintenance issues. Sharon & Robert are the managers & they are there 24 hours a day. The apartments are very nice & comfortable. I would highly recommend Cactus Valley the staff is wonderful & the residents are happy!!

My parents moved in and sadly only spent a few months at Cactus Valley before my mother passed away. When my siblings and I visited we were impressed with the amenities, cleanliness and most of all the amazing staff. EVERYONE was friendly, compassionate and cheerful from management to the service staff. What a wonderful environment and facility. We only wished we had found it sooner!

As a healthcare professional, I love working with Cactus Valley! All of the staff are genuinely happy to work there, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. April, the activities director, truly stands out”she goes above and beyond for the residents, and her passion for what she does is clear. My clients who have lived at Cactus Valley always have wonderful things to say about their experience. This community feels like home and provides an amazing environment for independent living. I highly recommend Cactus Valley to anyone looking for a welcoming and vibrant independent living community.

Our experience has been great! Mom loves all the amenities and is very excited about moving into her first floor apartment, which has spacious rooms and lovely sliding glass doors that lead to a large covered patio. All the residents are friendly and welcoming. The cafeteria is overflowing with appetizing selections, including a large salad bar and grilling station. The chef came out to say hello, telling us he's happy to re-create family favorite recipes. Shirelle led us through the process and made everything easy. We highly recommend this community!

If you are searching for a wonderful living environment for your older mother, father, family member, or loved one, look no further. My name is Chuck, and the Cactus Valley Retirement Resort is the place to be. First and foremost, Cactus Valley would not be what it is without its incredible staff. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love and pride emanating from the employees. Every single employee here is kind, respectful, thoughtful, and passionate. They set the bar high for others to show up heart centered. The amenities at Cactus Valley are endless. The cleanliness and overall aesthetic of Cactus Valley creates a quality of life that is top notch. Just to name a few, there’s a billiards room, conversation rooms, craft room, dining room, fitness center, lounge, poker room, and a state of the art theater. We receive monthly newsletters that list all the activities that Cactus Valley has to offer: arts and crafts, fitness, games, health and wellness, intellectual, music, social, and spiritual. We also receive weekly calendars and resident food menus to remind us of the scheduled events and food offered each day. The fitness activities include balance classes, a walking club, Wii Bowling, Bean Bag Baseball, hand and foot card games, morning exercises, women’s health courses, patients choice snacks and facts classes, and nutritional education seminars. The games include Mahjong, Bingo, Mexican Train, Blackjack, Arts & Crafts, Bridge, Billiards, Rummikub, and Jeopardy. The intellectual events include Armchair Travel classes (where we learn about a different country each class) and World Heritage Sites (where we explore the world’s greatest places). The musical events involve a variety of talented singers and musicians (some include our very own residents). Social events include town hall meetings, pizza making and chats with the chef, movies in the theatre every day and night, happy hours, social hours, banquet dinners, masquerade balls, wine tastings, birthdays, and all the holiday parties you can think of. You name it, Cactus Valley hosts it. Socials events outside of Cactus Valley are also available and include field trips like going to museums and picnics in local parks. Spiritual events include things like Sunday church services and religious holiday celebrations. Cactus Valley even has bus escorts to take you to your place of worship. Other fun and random activities include the residents sharing their baby/childhood photos, wedding photos, and military photos. Then we have to guess who’s who “ I don’t look a day over 25 so my photos were easy to guess . This is just one example of a great exercise for the residents to get to know each other and their life histories. Cactus Valley is more than a community “ it’s an extended family. It’s a place where we know we are safe. We are a diverse group of residents who share the joy of experiencing Cactus Valley’s way of life. As a resident of Cactus Valley for over 5 years, I made the right decision to spend the rest of my life here.

Cactus Valley Retirement Resort lives up to its name. This 55+ well appointed community is made up of caring and friendly staff and residents. My husband and I stopped by to review the facilities and sent the details to my mom who was living out of state. She decided to move in and we couldn’t be happier! She loves living independently, has many new friends, and we all love her decision to join the Cactus Valley family! My mom’s all-inclusive monthly payment means just that. Her rent includes everything: all utilities (including internet and cable), gym classes, activities, movie theater, and the Cactus Vally bus service. She is served 3 healthy and delicious meals each day, with the option of grab and go’ meals. My husband is a major fan of the coffee and soft serve ice cream. The rent also includes a handyman and a weekly housekeeper! Most importantly, the attentive staff is lead by Lisa, and Abe, managers who truly enjoy what they do. Thank you Cactus Valley Retirement Resort for creating such a warm, safe, and inviting place for our mom.
March 2024
Cactus Valley is a fantastic place. Due to my profession I have an opportunity to visit most of the independent living facilities in the area. Cactus Valley has all of the amenities and activities that you expect to find in a retirement resort community. However, what sets Cactus Valley apart is their people. The staff at Cactus Valley carry a spirit of genuine empathy and care for the residents. From maintenance to the cleaning crew to the kitchen/dining staff and the management team, they all exude kindness, interest, and familiarity with their residents. This is a facility I would be happy to find my parents or myself living in.
December 2023
My aunt and I toured Cactus Valley with Tammy and she was wonderful! She showed us two beautiful apartments and all the fabulous amenities the community has to offer. My aunt especially loved the salon so she can get her hair and nails done right in her own community! Tammy, the staff, and residents we met were so very kind and made us comfortable from the jump. Definitely a wonderful place to call home!
December 2023
Want to give a shout out to Cactus Valley for providing upscale living for our senior community. Tami in the front office is knowledgeable and understands what you need.
December 2023
My visit to Cactus Valley Retirement Community with my grandma was truly delightful. The community shared a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the tour left us thoroughly impressed. One standout feature that caught my grandma's attention was the on-property theater, which screens movies twice a day and boasts a seating capacity of up to 150 people. The availability of such an amenity not only provides entertainment but also fosters a sense of community among the residents. The well-designed facilities, coupled with the friendly staff we encountered during our visit, made Cactus Valley a standout choice for those seeking a vibrant and comfortable retirement living experience.
December 2023
This is a great place to move to for seniors. Lots of fun activities and good food, the soft serve ice cream machine is the best! Staff is super friendly, warm, and caring, apartments and community is clean, well kept, and absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for retirement bliss, this place is it.
December 2023
I toured this beautiful community with my grandma and we absolutely loved it! It is so well put together and both the residents and staff are so warm and friendly! The Sales Manager took extra special time and care and made us feel as if we were at home during the entire community. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
August 2022
I love this place! Both staff and residents are like family.
July 2022
I recently moved into Cactus Valley after living in a similar facility in Henderson. The difference in the two facilities is amazing. This apartment is much larger for the same cost. Management and staff have been very friendly and helpful. The food and food service are top notch here. My maintenance requests have been taken care of by the next day. The residents have been friendly and helpful in introducing me to the various activities and have made me feel right at home. I am very happy that I chose Cactus Valley as my new home.
May 2022
I have been the RLC Resort Community for nearly 2 years. Overall its a very convenient location where Costco is Across the street, many restaurants near by, and for myself my Doctors are all within 6 miles. My biggest complaint has been that many times the food was not really healthy for me or the elderly. I mean that to many times it was fried, or dry. The choices are improving, but they still have a ways to go. I personally always find something to eat. The Salad Bar is Excellent, and their hamburgers are great. The biggest problem this location has as I am sure many others have. Help is hard to come by, and they do not last very long. That is because the help can get much better earning in other local places. The current management is actually Excellent.

The staff is very attentive and caring to all of the residents. There are so many activities that you need to plan your day in order to enjoy yourself. The facility is very clean, open and bright. The food is excellent and the chef appreciates suggestions and recipes. Michelle is the Senior Living Consultant and she will welcome you and help you begin a wonderful stay at Cactus Valley.

Cactus Valley includes everything. You'll need renters insurance but no utilities or maintenance costs. I have car insurance and gas (for car). The Managers and employees are all great and help you any way they can. The residents also help each other whenever possible. My daughter loves the concept but her husband wants to stay in the 4 bedroom house, lots of work.

Looks kewl
December 2019
Sherri and David Stryker are the best. They really take good care of the residents
September 2019
My husband and I went to check the facility out earlier this month because we are looking for a 55+ community. Its a beautiful place but unless you're a rich retiree you won't be welcomed here. We were looked down upon the moment we walked in. With the rates as high as they are, the middle class need not apply. We weren't even given a tour. I guess if I had been draped in jewelry and dressed to the hilt the mgr would have been tripping over their feet to get us in there. I work too hard for what I have to live in a place that thinks you're a nobody.
September 2019
This facility is AMAZING!!! My father just moved in on 9/8/19. On the main floor, from the Dining to the General Store and everything in between were absolutely amazing! Whoever put the designs together was very detail oriented. There are so many amenities this facility has that makes it a true Resort. I personally highly recommend this facility for your loved ones.
September 2019
This is the most amazing Community I've ever seen. We have hired the best team ever. Our residents are so happy to be home.
