Many thanks to Colleen and staff at the Taylor American House. It's been months since my loved one passed and I still don't know how I would have made it through without the kindness and support of Colleen, Alex, Mike and Gary and all the others on staff. Their patience (believe me they needed it) and gentle spirit with my cousin was very much appreciated. She was not the easiest person to deal with sometimes but working together we were able to help her navigate her new reality - which is often not easy as a person gets older. I would recommend this American House to family and friends.

Please clean up the area by Eureka rd-East of the entrance! Many large pine trees and shrubs overgrown with so much trash on the ground! This rest of the property is well maintained except for this area!

Looking through the comments, it’s a wonder Cassandra Lowe is still Admin!! She doesn’t care about the clients in this facility. I have witnessed a resident being yelled at by Cassandra!! Colleen is not friendly at all!! They do not help when staff is short at all. They both are very condescending to residents!! They will walk past a resident trying to ask a question. FYI a lot of reviews are from employees!! I commented on google they deleted my review hmmm

American house is overall a beautiful place with pleasant staff but the issue is the manager of the home care department she is very rude and nasty just ghetto and unprofessional. I overheard her talking to a resident and I can honestly say I'm glad my mother is able to do for herself and not have to deal with the unprofessionalism from her.

My uncle lived at American House in Taylor for two years. We were very happy with the overall management and operations of this location. The apartments are nicely laid out, clean and well maintained. The management was proactive in keeping us informed and always available to answer questions or address concerns. We were especially impressed by the kindness of the staff who interacted with my uncle daily. Recently, he was hospitalized and all he wanted to do was go back home to his apartment. To me, that says volumes about the people who work there and look after the residents. Thank you American House for all you do to make the residents feel at home everyday.

American house its self is very nice. But the food they is at times suspect. The vegies are usually over cooked, but meat and fish alot of times is either cooked until it is hard or undercooked. Like the cod fillets served 12, 6, 19, cook said she cooked it at 150 degrees for 45 minutes. Really it was not even warm. I feel bad about having my mom live there.

I came into this American house to find a potential place for my father and I must say I was truly amazed. The building itself is wonderful and seemed very home like inside. There is also a medical team inside the American house that helps the residents and just from passing them by they appear to be rather friendly and professional. A lot of them were smiling and seemed very happy. I would feel secure knowing there is a medical team there to help with my father when he needs it. The services that they offer for the residents are wonderful. Although I am still looking for a new permanent place for my father, this location didnt seem bad at all.

My mother loves it here, from day one! And I love it for her! The staff always make sure she is taken care of. And they always have something for everyone to do, from physical to mental even spiritual activities! And I join in every chance that I get because the activities that they have are really fun!

I would highly recommend American House Southland to anyone who would enjoy the comfort of your own private apartment and yet the security of knowing that if you needed any help Cassandra and Coleen will be right there to assist you. Cassandra definitely goes above and beyond to make sure all of the needs are addressed immediately. The kitchen staff is also so kind and wonderful. My Dad was there for almost 5 years and he was highly satisfied with the conditions of the housing.

Thank you for the wonderful care from American House on Eureka Rd in Taylor MI. My parents have been there for two years now. The staff and other residents are always friendly. Everyone sang happy birthday for my dads 95th today. The medical team has been great and always calls and communicates with us. Maintenance is quick to fix anything needed. Its clean and even the layout of the building makes it easy for my parents to get around. We are so appreciative of the kindness and care that they have received there!
