My father and mother have both lived, albeit separately, at Corby Place over the past 15 to 20 years. They each have enjoyed living there even though they would have preferred living in their own homes if that had been possible. They staff have been very supportive of my parents, always treat them with respect and kindness. The staff have also been very supportive of family members, allowing us to stay in the guest apartment when available and always answering our questions and concerns when we had them. The only reason I give it a rating of four is that there is a limited range of activities available to the residents unlike much larger facilities with hundreds of residents and more activities. All in all this is a really great facility for older adults.

My mother and father moved into Corby about two years ago. They felt at home right away, made friends, found old friends and have had many activities to keep them busy and moving. It is a much safer environment than when they were trying to continue to live on their own. Overall, it is a clean, comfortable place for older adults.

The food is good, the apartments are good, the price is right. These are the 3 main things when looking for a retirement home. Everything else is just icing on the cake at Corby Place. HSM

The staff is very caring and helpful to the residents. Apartments are spacious and each have a full kitchen if one wanted to cook in the apartment. Three meals a day are provided and the food is good. Cleaning and laundry are also included in your monthly price. Nursing care available (for an extra cost). Beautiful building, outdoor patio area and activities are available throughout the day into early evening. Transportation is provided at a minimal cost to appointments. Outside trips are also planned with transportation provided—Walmart, restaurants and Chiefs training camp to name a few. Would highly recommend this place to any of my family or friends.

Our mother moved into Corby Place last September. It is an awesome place. The staff is very friendly and considerate, always willing to help. They offer 3 meals a day. The residents are able to take field trips, make crafts, listen to musicians and transportation is available for appointments (for a nominal fee.) There is a nurse on staff 24/7. It is reassuring to us that our mom is taken care of when we aren't there to take care of her. If you are considering a senior living facility we would highly recommend Corby Place you won't be disappointed.

My Mother moved into Corby a few months ago, and she loved it from day one. I was always coming over to visit and to share one of Corby's great meals. I found out there was an apartment down the hall and across from Mom's apartment. I thought about it and moved in a couple of months later and have never regretted it. Mom's view is to the west looking at the Missouri River and miles into Kansas, mine is to the east looking out at old downtown St. Joe. Every staff member here is as kind and professional as they can be. The meals are always excellent. One of my nieces or nephews are always asking what is on the menu and ready for a visit. Living at Corby is a comfortable and very enjoyable experience. And the collective of others Living here at Corby who are calling it home is what really makes it feel like home for my Mom and myself.

I just got to start out by saying Corby Place is HOME! It is absolutely amazing, residents are amazing & the atmosphere is so warming and very welcoming! I’ve worked here 4 years. Started house keeping to over night laundry, being a receptionist, to now the activities director!! I would not trade my place, my job, my love , and my commitment to anyone or anywhere else but who’s at Corby!! The staff is wonderful and always willing to be a helping hand for anyone and everyone here! Corby Place Senior Living is the place to be ❤️

I know someone who very recently moved in (so if something changes in the future I will change this review accordingly). I have visited a few times so far, and I've noticed that the staff are friendly and seem to genuinely care about the people who live there. The building itself is beautiful and an amazing piece of St. Joe history! It's clear that they take good care of the building - and the individual apartment itself is very nice! It has a full kitchen and a decently sized, easily accessible bathroom, with a surprising amount of closets/storage space. Also, the 14th floor has an observation deck with an unbelievable view of downtown!!

We recently had our Dad pass away. He was supposed to move with Mom into Corby. It is such a NICE SAFE PLACE!! But he passed. So we moved Mom into a 1 bedroom apartment. EVERY PERSON who works there, are the most caring people. It's a first name basis and they are ALL the BEST! They have gone above and beyond to take care of our Mom. It's a SAFE CLEAN & CARING assisted living. 3 meals a day! LOTS of fun activities! Transportation services also. Housekeeping , laundry, too! It's really a blessing I don't worry about Mom, I know they are taking excellent care of her! I can sleep at night knowing she is SAFE! Plus ALL the assisted living PEOPLE who live there are really GREAT PEOPLE ALSO! THANKYOU to ALL of Corby!

Corby place is absolutely amazing in every way! From the wonderful family atmosphere, to the caring staff, fun activities and yummy food...It's top notch! The residents that live there always welcome new people with open arms. It's truly a special place. Residents can see local parades from the big picture windows on the first floor, watch the fireworks and air shows from the 14th floor balcony and enjoy all the downtown activities that St. Joe has to offer! It's a hidden gem in our community! Go check them out! You can't beat their move in rates and if you're a Veteran there are special prices for that too!

I work in Social Services at a rehab facility here in town and have had residents who live here and absolutely love it! I have such a hassle free experience when sending a resident home and contacting staff. They are very friendly and helpful. I can tell they really enjoy and care about their people.

I would like to thank Corby Place management and staff for the wonderful care given to my mom for the last 2 years and 5 mths. Family cared for mom as long as we could in her own home where she had lived for 48 years. When it became apparent that we could no longer care for her safely we chose Corby Place. This ended up being a perfect choice. She was cared for so well even through a pandemic. We are grateful and Blessed by Corby.

I moved in last spring-around April and I love being here. My apartment is great. They help me hang pictures and curtains making it more like I want it to be. The staff is friendly, helpful and caring. They do my laundry, clean every week and all the meals are included-if you don't like a meal-order from a menu. Lots of activities to do if you wish. Also a variety of outside things to do if you wish. We have special holiday meals and often special guests for our entertainment. In all it was a great choice to move to Corby Place Senior Living. I highly recommend checking it out.

My parents moved from their home of 50 + years to Corby Place. Their home in the country was built on land where my dads family lived growing up. The move was a big one to say the least. We had heard from others that had parents living at Corby Place. They all raved about it, so it was high on my parents list. Since moving to Corby Place in early 2020 they quickly came to love it. The staff is so friendly and caring. They always have time for any request and always seem to go that extra mile. When I have had questions about their care or apartment, they are always very responsive and do anything within their control to help. It has given myself and my siblings peace of mind knowing they are in such a wonderful place. We were all impressed with the accommodations, the rooms are very nice and airy with a ton of natural light. All the amenities such as food service, housekeeping, and laundry have been very nice as well. (They also allow for them to do their own laundry if they prefer.) My mother feels she is eating in a restaurant every day given the quality of the food and the table service.The staff also works hard to develop activities to keep them engaged. With the pandemic that has been a bit of a challenge, but they have done what they can while keeping everyone safe. Their staff has established protocols on cleaning and building access to keep my parents safe. I really appreciate how they have stepped up to this challenge. When the pandemic hit, I was concerned about my parents potential for exposure. Given Corbys response, I feel they are keeping them safer than if they were in their own home dealing with the day to day of life there.I would highly recommend Corby Place to anyone thinking about moving to Independent Living.

Where do I being? Corby Place is an exquisite building with wonderful architecture that has a lot of history and meaning for its residents. My mom has lived there for 3 years and neither of us could be more pleased. The apartments are clean and feel like a home. There are so many activities to keep the residents happy, entertained and engaged. I visited quite often prior to Covid and I absolutely love participating, too. My mom has made all kinds of friends and the residents are like a little village who look out for each other and genuinely care for each other. The staff is amazing. I live out of state and they keep me informed of everything that is going on and with Covid, they have face-timed me so that my mom and I can see each other. I could not think of a better place for my loved one to live. Thank you, Chris, Theresa and all the staff for taking such good care of my mom as well as the other residents.

Corby Place was an AMAZING home for my parents, Jim and Judy Arnold, for many years!!! I will be forever grateful for the great care they received, and the love that was shown to them. I have lived her for almost five years and I LOVE it. I dont have to worry about housekeeping, or laundry or cooking.There are activities everyday and weekends and evenings and if youwant to do something that isnt on the calendar just ask and it will magically show up.The history of the building is amazing but it is the family atmosphere of love and caring that makes Corby my home.

As the newest member of Corby Place Senior Living, I am in awe of the teamwork and great care provided by Corby Place Senior Living.The staff is willing to go above and beyond for each and every resident. From transportation to laundry and housekeeping, delicious meals, outings and activities they really do care about their residents. For those needing extra help, the care staff from Royal Comfort care services will do whatever it takes. But most of all the love and care shown to the family at Corby is evident in the number of staff who have worked here for 15 or more years. Turnover is a constant struggle in most senior residential settings, from nursing homes to assisted livings to retirement communities, but all the department heads except me, the new kid on the block in a newly created position, here have been here for many, many years which speaks to the teamwork and staff appreciation which translates into great staff who know and care about their residents.

I would just like people to know what Corby Place is all about and what it means to me. I have been here going on 17 years. Started out in the business office, applied for the Executive Director , didnt get it. Stayed in the business office through 4 more Executive Director and applied again. So this time I got the Executive Director job and kept the business office position and here I am today still loving my job! My passion is Seniors, my dad was a nursing home administrator in Maysville, MO for 10 years and at Savannah for 18 years, so its in my blood. My Mother also worked along side my Dad all those years. We here at Corby Place like to call Corby Place Home! You become part of our family whether you like us or not. That is just who we are. Truly life is about relationships and we have great ones here at Corby. We dont have any bad apartments, they range from 614 sq. ft. to 1160 sq. ft. We have one and two bedrooms along with two penthouses available. You will not find any better services than what we have: 3 meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, full calendar of activities, transportation, Sunday church services, here or at your own church, you control your own heating and cooling, basic cable included , all utilities paid except telephone, theme dinners, outside trips, MO theater, farmers market, department store, out to eat at local restaurants, ect. We have an in house agency Royal Comfort Services that are in our building 24, 7 or you can choose anyone to come in and help you. This is your home, and I want you to make it your home. Paint, hang pictures, when you walk in I want you to feel and say, Wow, this is home! You can come and go as you please, have your grandchildren over to spend the night have fun! Life is short! If you have never been to Corby Place, I invite you down to take a tour and see what we have! You dont know what you are missing, a great family atmosphere. We dont have a product to sell except our services and ourselves and it would be our pleasure to serve you or a loved one. So maybe you dont need us right now, but I truly believe everyone knows someone that we could help and that could become part of our family! Please take the time, wed love to show you around!
