Park House - Southfield is beyond incredible when it comes to scheduled activities + outings. My sister & I were scouting for our mother and couldn't believe the list of amenities and floor plan options. Although we'd recommend scheduling a tour, Marianne still provided a full tour during our pop-up visit. Daily breakfast with the options to add other daily meals for the month, an onsite barber + beauty shop, weekly housekeeping .. with a list of other's. The location is pieceful , the staff is pleasant, and the residents are very social and among their peers. We give them four thumbs up!

I met Marianne the morning after my mom was released from the hospital. I spoke to her about an issue with a child running and jumping around above her apartment. She was very professional and informative about how some residents take care of their grand children, and made sure she would let the person in charge check on this issue. She also was the person that showed my mom around and made sure she felt comfortable moving into an apartment, for the first time in her life. Assisting a parent with transitioning from a home to senior independent apartment living was suppose to be a challenge, but Parkhouse was an easy Yes and the perfect place. First, Marianne in the office was so helpful and patient. She invited us to come in for a meal and talk to the residents and meet the staff. Second, The units are spacious and updated, amenities plentiful, they offer engaging activities, transportation is available, dining is accommodating, and grounds well maintained. They even monitor the hallways with a high tech system. Lastly, my Mom won't lose her independence but will be in a secure and caring environment where she can thrive and enjoy being a senior. I moved into Park House August of 2025 , I experienced several issues in my apartment with large spiders and bees coming into my apartment from the return air vent. After notifying management about the problem it took several weeks before the issue got resolved, the response time was very poor and I kept getting excuses. I also had several bricks that were missing and open around my patio areas and a large drywall hole in the furnace room with mold growing in the drywall’s . It was later determined that this was how the bees were entering into my apartment. The building is old and management is not keeping up with maintenance here. There is lots of room for improvement because the residents deserve better for the amount of money that we pay to live here.

Nice clean, friendly new staff. Prior staff were extremely lazy, loud and had to be constantly reported. They were dating each other and ignoring the needs of the clients and their families. Once at dinner time there were no glasses to drink juice from. I asked them where I could find a glass for my aunt and her friend who sat with us and each staff said it was another staff member job to refill the glasses. Finally an angry staff member brought glasses out. So glad they were all replaced. Nice place now!

Visited Park House as we are looking for a good home for our parents as they get older, and they are no longer able to live where they are all alone. Wife and I moved in May 1, 2025. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Other residents are friendly and welcoming. Few issues we had with apartment were addressed promptly. Breakfast everyday is included with base rent. Optional dinner and supper(noon and evening) meals are available for purchase. Enough activities are available to keep us busy. Marianne, the person in office who showed us the property and handled our move in was/is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this apartment to any senior who is considering getting rid of the expense and work of maintaining a private home, but still wants privacy and a quiet living environment.

I have given Park House 4 stars because I feel five would mean it is perfect. And nothing in this world made by man is perfect. Hence the less then perfect rating but at the same time I really like it here. By the way I am a resident. And the following is why I like Parkhouse. I will not leave out areas where I think improvement can be made but my focus will be on my likes. I feel that the staff is looking out for my best interest. The food here is not made to meet gourmet standards the ideal seems to be balanced nutrition. However, this is not to everyone’s liking anywhere in the world. I am one who is very fussy over his food so I can relate to anyone who criticizes a dish. The kitchen here is hard pressed to live up to everyone’s expectations and it is bound to fail some of us. But overall, I for one believe that they, the kitchen, does an excellent job. Most meals are tasty and pleasing but are not served piping hot. Even the best restaurants the food is never served hot out of the skillet. Indeed, most dishes require a rest period, you should never serve a steak until it has rested. But the number one complaint I hear around here is “my food is cold.” I doubt that this complaint can be met unless they sit next to the stove and are served from the skillet. I give the kitchen here 4 out of 5 stars, my highest rating. As I can see housekeeping is the most troubled departments. What is the trouble? I cannot tell from the outside. This is not to say that the place is messy or not clean. It gets taken care of in an expedient manner that would satisfy any organization. When one enters one of the buildings you are met with a clean and orderly environment. I will not speak on the “old folks smell” that permeates the facility, it is filled with elderly residents after all. Myself (72 yrs.) included. The staffing turn around for this department is very high. Why, I do not know. I am a bit of a neat freak and like to have everything in its place and clean. I am not happy until I can find anything blindfolded. Counters and floors should be clean enough to eat off. Anyway, this is how I like my apartment. I can not complain or think poorly of the housekeepers for their work. In this I doubt anyone can hope to please me. Did I tell you that I am an ex-army drill sergeant? Well, I was and in this it shows. Overall, I think the housekeeping department does its work well with room for improvement. I can see that the morale in this department is low. I give housekeeping 3 out of 5 stars. The remainder of the staff and maintenance I will group together. The building here is of an older design and it shows in many ways, I am not sure when it was built. The layout is not the best for the kind of residents they have here, elderly, and disabled. But with that said, I love my apartment. Like everything about it. I could list a lot of things that could make it much better. But that would require a rebuild of the apartment. Not happening. And I have found the maintenance department responsive and helpful in aiding me to keep it cared for. The office staff is always helpful and diligent in their duties. I have never had a member of the staff here treat me with anything except dignity and respect. This treatment goes so far as to make me feel unworthy of it. This goes for the top staff down to the bottom rung of the staffing ladder. As I have stated I would not give anyone a 5 of 5 rating but the staff here I will give them 4 out of 5. Witch is the best I can give. I could go somewhere else to live but, I do not believe I could find a better than Park House. Yes, there room for improvement, but this is true anywhere you go. Elsewhere I would only trade for a different set of problems. I believe that the staff here is doing the best they can, for all the residents of Park House. With all the above in mind I give Park House a 4 of 5 stars rating.

We have been here less than five years, (Martha Pope), the staff here are amazing, there show of professionalism has been outstanding. During this COVID-19. There staff have been amazing. They have provided us with excellent service and care. However, for seniors the rent is questionable. The food menu have improved, but everyone have different taste. Love the space of the apartment, and security. The activity provided are great.

I would like to take the opportunity to share my awesome experience with you. I give 5 stars to this facilities for the following reasons: I attended Open House and was met by Alexandria and Landon. I was looking for a place for my 89 year old mom to live. We were looking to live in a facility that was comfortable and clean. WELL....this facility is the ONE!! The Staff truly cares about their residents. In speaking to several residents who has been living there from 2 months to 20 years, All had the same response, they love being there! My mom and I had the opportunity to not only see the dinning room but eat there as well. Chef Tiffany provided an awesome lunch. Carrie Supv. of Housekeeping resolved an issue so eloquently. The parlor, lobby, exercise room, laundry room etc were well kept vert clean. Ground maintenance was on top of making sure the areas were beautifully manicured . Sandy the activity director was fun and energetic. There is always so much to do. My mom and I played bingo! I like to THANK Landon and Alexandria for providing such a wonderful place to tour and LIVE!! My mom has decided to live there!!
