My brother Frank Hayden just moved to the AMERICAN HOUSE and had his senior group he plays card with come over to visit him. They were overwhelmed with his care, happiness, and staff graciousness. Many of them had not thought about coming here and before they left they took information books for American house with them. I felt so much peace and though job well done. It was his family who contributed to his wellness and Kristy and the staff for their kindness and compassion for the seniors who live here.

If your loved one needed assistance with a CPAP machine, you’re out of luck at this facility that hires a third-party company for medical needs. My family needed assistance press button they never came. I went down to see what was going on. There was sitting around talking and eating. It happened on several occasions. And for that reason this location does not get the rating of five stars.

This facility was everything we prayed for for our Father. It's cleaned the staff was nice. While it is more than he can afford at this time, I hope that we will eventually be able to move him here.

I came in here for a tour. What a beautiful, clean place! The apartments were so nice. The staff was amazing. I even talked with some residents who were outside. I've been looking for a place for my Dad. This will be perfect for him. The hallways on each floor are nice and wide with plenty of room for people to maneuver wheelchairs and othe mobility devices. I was very happy to see how clean everything was. This is a beautiful place.

I came to visit my Grandparents and brought my two children, their great grandchildren, with me. We played bingo, ate a very nice dinner and then enjoyed the Broadway entertainment and music! We had a wonderful time! Thank you for having us!

My mother was a resident there for 10 years. Beware if you have a loved one on oxygen, CPAP needs or heat, they do not have a back up generator. I made several complaints throughout the years and they would just say it was too expensive. The owners of this property should be ashamed of themselves for putting seniors in such bad situations. Numerous times with no heat, no lights, no oxygen and had to leave their doors open for light. If my mother lived on the 3rd floor she would have never received any help from the medical team if needed. No elevator, no heat, no lights and seniors sitting in dark cold rooms in the winter. When my mom passed all they cared about were the keys and one single bed laying up against the wall. I felt it was a full time job managing my mother at that facility. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My experience at American House Joy has been a "joy", way more than I expected. Everyone has been so helpful. They really care about their residents. There is a sense of family here. Moving from my house to American House was the right thing for me to do.

Although my mom loves the people and the whole experience, I'm not as happy. I've asked NINE times to have her garbage disposal fixed, and to have the stove moved back so she can get her drawer out. 3 times they've said ok let me put this in as urgent, but nope, nothing. Also, the medical team is less than pleasant most of the time. At least mom likes it there!

I have been assisting my aunt and uncle locate a senior living community that will fit their needs. After visiting American House - Westland Joy, I believe this will be a suitable option. They are affordable, and provide many amenities, activities, and home health care options. The grounds and apartments were clean. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Kai-Anne R, the Community Relations Director, conducted our tour. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit!

The decision that made it easy for me to choose this place is the service. The lifestyle activities are catered to everyone making it easy to participate. Another point is that the services include 3 high quality meals everyday which helps to enjoy the fruits of life more. The services here makes living worthwhile and into a lifestyle.

My wife and I were researching senior living communities for an elderly family member. After visiting with many potential “new homes” for our loved one, we were most impressed with American House, Westland -Joy. It has all of the amenities of a larger center without the feeling of being lost amongst too many people. The facility appeared very clean, safe and extremely welcoming. Community Relations Director Kai-Anne was especially gracious and went out of her way to help us with any and all questions. We made many unannounced visits and were treated extremely well each and every time. American House Westland-Joy is #1 on our list as soon as our family member is ready to make the move.

From the director, to office staff, team players, Haley, Andrea, the kitchen staff who looks after my father for his likes and dislikes, Aaron, the medical team Dawn, Leslie, housekeeping.... I can't say enough of the wonderful staff and team players they have there. Such kindness, compassion, consideration, the love. Everyone there even the ones that didn't know their names care so much about the residents there. It's not just a job I can tell. This is a top notch place. Don't hesitate to send a loved one there. I live in Florida and I'm doing okay knowing he's in their hands. And the residents I love them all. Had so much fun with them when I was there for a week. Activities I could go on and on and on. Thank you American house and everyone who's a part of it.

My mom lost her husband and she has early on-site of dementia. This place honestly saved her life. Staff is so supportive and always ready to help. Covid has been rough but AH has kept their residents safe with the strict safety measures. Couldnt be happier!!

I am thankful each day for our decision to move my mother to American House Westland Joy last year. The location is bright, clean and active, with lots of activities to keep the residents engaged (even during Covid). The staff have been amazing, with top-notch individuals clearly doing work they love. My mom loves being in a place surrounded by individuals that care.

We searched high n low for a place for my grandfather. A place where he would be like family and they would care for him as such. American House Joy has been a blessing to our family! Hes been there now about 5 years and theres not a thing we ask of them that they dont do to help. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Patty makes us feel like family! And I have a piece of mind knowing they are there in his immediate need. His health has declined in the past five years but with the medical team on site hes been able to stay in his home. The staff is very well-informed and will help you with any of your familys needs. The layout of the facility is very bright and inviting they have a wonderful dining area with very tasty food. They also have a wonderful medical team on staff 24 hours a day! I would recommend American House Westland for any of your family needs and peace of mind for family members knowing they are taken care of and very safe.

My dad has been there for several months, and we are both very happy with the place. The staff seems to genuinely care about him. They know him by name and are very friendly toward him, which means a lot to me. My dad really likes the food, and its nice to have the option for them to do his laundry and give him his medicine. It gives me peace of mind to know that he is safe and content.
