I have been here almost a month and feel totally at home. The food is excellent, the facility is extremely clean and the staff wonderfully responsive to our needs. As a wheelchair user, I am totally comfortable and recommend Story Point East to anyone contemplating a move.

I have been a resident here since August 1 of 2025. At first, I was unhappy living here because it was such a big change of space. But after I maid Friends and found my way around the facility with activities, The improved food venue and very friendly staff. As far as Maintenance Brian is a main maintenance man and he is very responsive whenever there’s an issue such as water leak in my apartment he is there almost immediately now I feel that this is perfect setting for me and actually would never move from here if I had a choice. ,

I just wanted to share how thrilled my wife and I are with the care my mother-in-law is receiving at StoryPoint East Assisted Living (next to Oxmoor Center). She has been a resident there for less than a year and it has been great. Beth, the executive director, and Deb, her senior lead receptionist, are fantastic. They are so friendly, very nice, and always have a smile on their face. They are so warm and approachable and very knowledgeable. They promptly provide us with an answer to any question we ask. The remainder of the staff are not only friendly, but they are also compassionate, well-trained, and super responsive to everyone’s needs. The facility itself is clean, odor-free, and very accessible, plus it’s pet friendly, and well -maintained. The dining experience is impressive with nutritious, chef prepared meals. I often wonder how the chef manages to please so many people! Beyond that, they take great care of the residents with many services while providing a comforting atmosphere that balances independence with needed assistance. My wife no longer has to worry about her mom, knowing she is in such capable hands. We toured and explored various assisted living facilities prior to choosing StoryPoint East. I highly recommend taking a personal tour to see it all for yourself. We feel very blessed to have found StoryPoint East for our mom’s new home. They are definitely a five star facility!
February 2026
Our entire family is grateful for our Mom having enjoyed living in her comfortable, cozy independent living apartment for 11+ years at Storypoint Louisville East (formerly called Oxmoor Lodge). Benefits such as, access to meals in the dining room, various planned activities/events to connect with other residents, and opportunities to create new friendships in her golden years are some of the many highlights. The management team and staff were always accommodating of our big ole family gatherings, especially celebrating our Matriarch's 90th birthday in the dining room. Or, even privately scheduling meals/events/tea parties with our Mom in smaller rooms, on occasion were also wonderful. Not only did Mom make good friends here, these relationships extended to her adult children. We highly recommend Storypoint!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bryan, the maintenance professional, at StoryPoint East Assisted Living (next to Oxmoor Mall). His skill level across all areas of his trade is truly exceptional. Whether it’s plumbing, electrical work, general repairs, preventative maintenance, etc. Bryan handles every task with expertise and precision. It’s clear that he has extensive knowledge and takes great pride in doing the job right the first time. Bryan is incredibly prompt when responding to maintenance requests and follows through consistently until the issue is fully resolved. Nothing gets overlooked, and residents don’t feel forgotten. His reliability gives us a peace of mind. What truly sets him apart, though, is how he interacts with the residents. He is always friendly, professional, and patient. I don’t think I have ever seen him without a smile on his face. He takes his time to speak with the residents and their families, reassure them, and make sure their needs are met. In a senior living environment, that compassion and respect mean just as much as a technical skill. He is an invaluable asset to the facility and makes a meaningful difference in the daily lives of the residents! My mother has lived at StoryPoint East less than a year and Bryan has always responded promptly to her needs and performed the job well!

I have lived here almost 2 years and have enjoyed my time here. We have great staff that will help make our homes very comfortable to live in. We are in a beautiful transition of remodeling this whole facility making our home even more comfortable. I have asked for help with many things and got help within a days time or immediately if necessary. We have lots of games and activities to keep us busy with Emily. The dining people tries to please everyone. Our new chef Ben is making lots of new dishes to please our palate. We have regular meetings with the staff to keep us up to date on what is happening within and outside of our homes. At those meetings we get to voice our opinions too. I enjoy our meetings with the staff. Hope I have let you know enough to wet your interest to come live here with us.
July 2025
Beautiful green setting with a stream, perfectly suited apartment with plenty of closet space. I gained 5 lbs my first month so the meals are satisfying ... and the residents and staff are so friendly. This was an easy, smooth transition from living alone.

I’ve only been a story point Louisville East for the past six months. There’s been a lot of upheaval with changing and management and so on. We’ve been promised a lot of things by the new management from story point. The only thing is lotta talk no action. Things are going downhill instead of going uphill. The food is food getting worse instead of better if you like cold food for dinner and supper come here you’re bound to get it. Also Also cleaning now cleaning our rooms only happening once every two weeks if you’re lucky. They’re short staffed which doesn’t help. They’re always taking house cleaning staff to work in the cafeteria because I can keep no one there if I could find a place better I’d probably move.

My 95 year old Grandmother has lived at Oxmoor Lodge for nearly 3 years. In that time, everything but the name has changed. It has been sold, is on it's 3rd manager, and there seems to be a revolving door for the rest of the staff as well. Which doesn't give much of a sense of security. The building is nicely maintained for the most part, and they have several activities that my Grandmother enjoys. The biggest problem seems to be the food. Since staffing is a major issue, preparing and serving meals is a constant struggle. Even when half of the employees haven't quit, or called in sick, the food is subpar. This is according to my Grandmother who is fairly independent, and walks down to the dinning room for all 3 meals a day. Frankly, if it were up to me she would move. I've offered to do whatever needs to be done to get her into a place where she would feel more comfortable, and she chooses to give this place chance after chance. There are worse retirement communities I'm sure, but I'm sure that there are also better. UPDATE: 3 Months ago, (2 months after writing my initial review) my Grandmother finally decided to move. No one had cleaned her room in months, and the last time it was vacuumed she said it was because she had to bribe, or, "tip" one of the cleaning staff to do it. The final straw was when someone stole her pain medication. As evidence of how this place is run, the, "owner" finally responded to my review 2 weeks ago. They state in their response that a manger could be spoken to with issues in regards to the food. The funny thing is, Oxmoor Lodge currently doesn't have a manager overseeing anything at this time. Unfortunately, that is because he passed a few weeks before someone responded to my review, and the position still hasn't been filled. I've included a picture of my Grandmother's toilet, taken the day we moved her out. The elderly people in your life deserve better than this.
February 2020
The staff if very nice and help with anything they can. A very clean and very taken care of place.
January 2020
My Mom used to live there. They jacked her rent 14% after the first year and were not very nice to talk to about that problem. Some of the staff is wonderful and kind (thank you Derrick) Mom wasn't a huge fan of the food, but it's a business on a budget that had an unenviable job of trying to please people that have cooked for themselves for decades, so a bit of a pass there. I wish the managers position had been filled with a more people type person, but that person is no longer there. All in all its a nice enough facility and gets a solid B- grade.

My dad James Kummer lived there from 3/16 until his passing on 3/17. It was like pulling teeth to get him into a facility but I finally put my foot down after another hospital visit and made it happen. He really did enjoy his time there and the friends he made of both staff, caregivers and residents. He was borderline of independent living and maybe needed assisted living but with the addition of a caregiver for certain days we made it work. He really thought he was private person but found out he enjoyed the company of many during lunch, supper and activities. The staff was first rate by all means. My dad lived frugally all his life and his postal retirement pension was enough to cover his small studio apartment. I miss him and wish I could still see him there but I have good memories of him there.

Our loved one has lived at Oxmoor Lodge for many years. It is a lovely place with wonderful management who go out of their way to make residents feel a part of the community. Almost every time we visit, there is some type of entertainment in the atrium and plenty of parking. Also, Oxmoor Lodge is conveniently located in St. Matthews with a nice woodsy area in the back for bird-watching or taking a stroll.
