Solstice is a home away from home. Other retirement facilities in Columbia cost more and perhaps offer more but they are institutions. Solstice has heart and soul because of MGMT. All staff know their clients usually by name and it sounds like old time neighbors greeting each other. The family first environment is supported by its phenomenal mgmt staff of Tawanda Edwards, ED; Moe Jordan, Biz Off Mgr and Trina Almond Hall. These three ladies are responsible for the high positivity, the light hearted camaraderie and the general good nature of the facility. My mother was forced to move to a different facility because of an inept unempathetic family member. She never stopped talking about her happy social life at Solstice. She lived two beneficial years there and only lasted six months at the second facility. It was so huge she didn't get to know anyone as well as she had at Solstice. We are indebted to Tawanda, Moe and Trina for making her last years so delightful.

Wow, what a great place. Moved family there this past week. Great dining facility, good cooks, great meal selections. Hallways are wide, rooms are spacious. Pool room, TV room, activities several times each day.

I love being at this community with these residents, families and the TEAM! The refresh that they have done in the community is so beautiful and there's such a cozy warm feeling here. There is fun, laughter, hugs, dancing, celebrating, welcoming everyday with each other. This is a Great place to call HOME!!!

What a lovely and caring facility. The people bent over backwards to help my aunt during her stay. It is a true independent living facility in beautiful, convenient location. They are renovating the building but are very considerate of the residents and visitors during the construction. The food was good, too.

I have entertained at Solstice for years! While the facility was really nice and I am sure the residents were cared for, the management in charge, was always in a state of controlled chaos! So, you are probably wondering "so why a 5 star rating"? That's because this new regime of management have things he headed in the right direction! I NEVER saw management mingling with te residents with the old regime! With this new regime, the attitude totally different! When I entertain there now, it is common place, to see members of staff and management interacting with residents all during my performance! My business dealings with the old regime, was always just a mess! The new group has that smoothed out now! When I watch as I perform, I see. management and frontlne staff, genuinely "caring" about the residents as individuals! I believe with all my heart, that things will only get better! B.J. I came from Michigan to visit my folks and check out Solstice Senior Center for the first time. The cleanliness and overall condition of the facility really impressed me. I especially enjoyed the tasty meals prepared by Frank the cook and they are mostly home made. Everyone was friendly and made me feel at home. Now that I know my folks live in a safe and comfortable environment I am a lot happier. I would recommend this senior community to anyone interested. Tena

The facility was everything I hoped it would be. It was very well kept and clean. The residents were very pleasant and courteous. If I had to choose a facility, this would be the one. I met all my families needs as the as amenities were top notch. I was very pleased in the presentation and the tour. If I was in need of a place for me and my spouse this would be our choice.

So I should probably start this review by saying I lived in Southwest Florida for 28 years... as you can imagine Southwest Florida is filled with nursing homes! Of those 28 years about 15 of them I spent as a CNA working in various nursing homes, assisted living facilities, I need hospital care, Private Duty Care, even hospice care. Solstice is not qualify as an assisted living because you have to be fully functioning and be able to be on your own... however of all the facilities I have ever worked in or with this is by far one of the nicest. They have a variety of food to choose from. The facility is beautiful. Apartments range in a wide variety of sizes and layouts which I love because most places are very cookie cutter and there's only one or two options. My grandmother has lived here for about five years now and loves the place. Her doctor and dentist are on the same street which makes everything very convenient. They do have a transport bus that takes residence to places like the drug store, grocery store, which is not abnormal for any facility but should be mentioned. They are currently redoing the carpet, baseboards, tables, and chairs in the dining room and throughout the main level ( which were not bad but I think it had been a while and just time for an update). Staff if GREAT. They did a cute get together and fireworks for 4th of July

We"ve been here a year. It recently changed management from Boone Living to Solstice. Food has been upgraded and there are more changes to improve planned for the near future. We liked it when we moved in and it just keeps getting better. There is a residents committee that is a liaison between residents and management for both praise and concerns. There are wonderful management, residents, and activities in which you may elect to participate. It's in a very accessible location for shopping and medical services. My only concern is that there are only 3 handicap parking places. I need to see the residents committee...

The man that retuned my call rushed me off the phone, had no interest in answering any of my questions and then had the nerve to hang up on me. I'm helping my mom look for a place for my grandmother in Columbia, Mo and am doing some research on a few different places. He very rudely stated that he didn't have time to answer my questions because "it was his day off." Well, I guess we don't have time to come take a tour or even consider spending a dime at Boone Landing. What a jerk! I was very disappointed. This guy should be fired...
