I was a resident at Asher Point for around two and a half years until my departure a few weeks ago. I was recovering from some medical issues and not wanting to live alone. The entire time I was there, I was treated with dignity and respect by administrators and all staff. During my time of recovery after a serious heart attack and later a total hip replacement, they took extra time with me and made sure I had everything I needed. They made sure meals were delivered to me if I did not feel like going to the dining room, and kept me up to date on information I may have missed due to being in physical therapy and home health which which were given privately in the convenience of my own apartment there. Speaking of meals, they were usually very good and included both an appetizer and dessert. The chef has been there many years and held monthly meetings with the residents to hear any complaints or suggestions. Each meal was served to us on a beautifully decorated table usually with a flower centerpiece. A unique feature was a side dining room available for family who were visiting with a resident. Birthdays were celebrated every month with a party featuring decorations, music, and cake and ice-cream. Most residents were very friendly and encouraging to me. They cheered me on throughout my recovery process. I’m sure that helped me push through to finish everything successfully. My one bedroom apartment was lovely with weekly housekeeping and quick maintenance as needed. There were recreational activities everyday and especially during holidays. The recreation director polled us to see what we would like to do including places to visit on day trip excursions. Our bus driver was excellent and we usually had something fun planned every few days. We also had our own hair salon and Bible study during the week and church on Sunday if we wanted to attend. There is a special wall in the main lobby that honors all residents who were veterans of the military. We had a beautiful and well-stocked library with tables and chairs for private reading. There was a computer available if we needed to send an email or just browse. There is really just too much to share everything, and I am sure I forgot something important. As I write this, I am reminded of all I miss! I would especially like to say that I made many wonderful friends there who will always be in my heart. When I get a chance to visit, there is always a hug waiting from Christy, our kind and amazing director, as well as many others. It is like a big family! Please give Asher Point a visit if you are in the area and looking for a quality independent living facility that truly feels like home. You will love it! Karen Dauer

I was looking for an independent home for my grandmother. The people he were great they explained everything and answered all my questions. The executive and assistant director Christy and Anetha were very nice and took care of everything for me. I would recommend this independent living for anyone that is looking for a great place for family.

The Executive Director is such a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. You can tell her residents are the number one priority to her. We have done quite a few events at this facility, the residents and staff are so fun to work with!

I went into Eastdale Estates and spoke with the office manager Christy, about my grandmother a place last week. Christy was very knowledgeable and informative about the facility. She spoke to the residents with such patience and ease. You could tell that she really cares for them. She really made this a pleasurable experience for me.

I recently took a friend out to visit Eastdale Estates and we were greeted by the manager Alan Evans. Alan was very understanding of what my friend was looking for and showed us several apartments. He also was very patient and polite as we had many questions about how Things were managed there. Alan even invited us to stay and have lunch , which I was very interested in as to the Quality of the food. The food was tasty, well prepared, and well served there were also several choices of a salad, jello, and the portions were plenty. The staff is very friendly and helpful. After lunch we went to Alan’s office where he took time to explain any other issues and concerns That we might have. I would highly recommend anyone looking for senior living for friends or family consider Giving Alan a call. My friend went back with his daughter the next day and signed up.

My family & I moved our mother here 18 months ago. In the beginning things were great! However in the past year we’ve noticed that many of the residents are NOT independent care as we were told. This was portrayed as an independent living facility not an assisted living facility. It seems like most of the new residents need full time caregivers. My mother absolutely loves her apartment and all of the activities that are provided. Our mom is living a fully independent life and we would love to see other residents with the same independence!

I have lived here for two and a half years. Everything's wonderful here. I get my room cleaned each week with clean towels provided along with new rolls of toilet tissue. Three meals a day are served with a choice of options. I can't think of a better place to live. All of the staff are wonderful and I have made many friends here. I would not live anywhere else . We moved my mother in a little over a week ago. The best thing we ever did! She is a totally different person. She has activities every day and is loving life once again. This is a person who came from being depressed of being alone to being treated like a queen daily by the staff. You know who you all are thank you for bringing her in like family. If you are not familiar with this place please look it up and come visit. Are you looking for your loved ones a place to call home and they are looking to downsize to a senior living apartment, this is the place.

My mother-in-law was hospitalized on Christmas. We live 1000 miles away: I found Eastdale Estates web site and asked some questions. Dave Lee was very helpful answering questions and offering suggestions. We communicated via phone & email. Dave kept in touch w/ us for a couple months. I also heard positive comments about Eastdale Estates from some local women.

The staff and residents are very friendly and helpful. Seems they stay very busy but have it under control. It’s been trying times these last couple of years with current events but they always seem to rise above with a smile on their face! Great people all around. That being said, I think there’s a lot of room for improvement with the food itself and transportation. (Food preparers are NOT to blame-they can only prep what is given to them) That’s the only reason why I didn’t give a five star rating-along with the broken van/bus. I do realize the circumstances of our current ‘end-pandemic’ transportation issues but I think the new upper management needs to step up and find remedies/alternative contingencies for accommodating their customers with valid transport and descent cuisine options. Grilled cheese sandwiches, although super awesome, can only sustain a person for so long before it gets to be like “Ground Hog Day!” In closing, I would like to reiterate the transportation issue. Most of these residents can not drive. Most are dependent on this one van/bus. It’s been out of commission due to the theft of its catalytic converter just around a month ago. (Maybe a security Gaurd is in order?) These sweet and most caring middle management employees say that it’s our their control. I believe them. The recent acquisition of this center with the new owner is obviously having some growing pains-which I totally understand. BUT! When it’s YOUR mother in that situation, you want foreseeable solutions not excuses. Let’s think outside the box and fix these issues. Please. We love this place and don’t won’t it to fall by the wayside. People are depending on you. I’ll help any way I can. Thanks for hearing my plight. God bless.

My mom has moved here. She's been here about 6 months. She loves her apt. as it is very spacious (her particular apt. unit. Apt. sizes vary according to needs) as well as a great floor plan. Residents use their own furniture, ect. The facility will provide sheets, towels and toilet tissue. The facility is very nice as are the grounds. It is 3 stories. The dining area is on the 2nd and is very nice and they have a pool table on the 3rd floor. The residents are provided with menus and their orders are taken and served like in a restaurant. I am extremely pleased with MANAGEMENT, HOUSEKEEPING,’ ACTIVITY DIRECTOR and the…—DIETARY STAFF & SERVERS. I guess the only thing slightly negative would be the meals and quantity of food you receive. However, if eating in the dining room, you can ask for seconds or to go box if enough food is left after everyone has been served. 2 ‘‘ up! Also, they have a beauty shop’and pets are allowed ©•. I hope this information is helpful!!
