When the time came for my mom to transition to a senior living community, we toured several places and American House Grand Blanc met all of our needs. It is super clean, modern and welcoming. They are very accommodating and prompt with any minor repairs she has needed. Every member of the staff goes so far above what I was hoping for and genuinely cares about their residents. They have put my mind at ease and we know that this is the absolute best fit for my mom for her current needs, and will be able to accommodate her as her needs increase. Not only is the staff fantastic, but the residents are all very caring and friendly and there is a true sense of community at American House.

From the moment we walked through the doors of American House, we sensed a warmth and compassion that put us at ease. Selecting an independent living facility with just the right level of support for our mom was a difficult decision. I am pleased to report that we absolutely made the right choice! The staff at the Grand Blanc location go above and beyond to ensure that residents feel valued, respected, and most importantly, at home. The facilities themselves are top-notch. The living spaces are meticulously maintained and designed for both comfort and functionality. The dining room provides wonderful meals that residents can enjoy in the company of friends and neighbors. The diverse range and frequency of activities and programs are sure to spark the interests of even the most resistant resident. There's always something exciting happening that encourages socialization, engagement, and overall well-being. I wholeheartedly recommend American House to anyone seeking a nurturing and supportive environment for their loved one. The genuine care, attention to detail, and sense of community make it truly stand out as a haven for seniors.

My dad has been at American House Grand Blanc for about a year and a half now. He really feels at home there and its comforting to know he is happy. When I call to ask "How's it going dad?" I always get the same response "It's going great!". Very well run facility with a friendly staff that always seem to know everyone by name. Great events throughout the year that are always inviting for family to attend. It is a big relief to know my dad is comfortable and with people that care.

I am beyond grateful for the American house staff for being the only assisted living facility that accommodated my mother in a time of need! My mom decided 3 days before she was to be discharged from Rehab, that she was not ready to return home to live independently. With 3 days notice, my family began scrambling to figure out what to do. With all of her options researched, assisted living was my moms best choice. I toured several facilities, looking at all of the services they provide. My mom needed a weekend admission, which I found was not an option for most assisted living facilities. With the American House, this was not an issue. When I walked into the American House of Grand Blanc, I immediately felt welcome. As a nurse myself, I have pretty high standards of what I was looking for in a new home for my mom. The apartments were roomy and clean, but I honestly was a little apprehensive as I felt my mom may need more assistance than she would receive. Once I spoke with the medical team, I learned of all the services they provide (and are on site 24/7), I was quickly put to ease. Having my mom at the American House in Grand Blanc, has truly been such a blessing to me and my family! All of the staff could not be more wonderful!! My mom was a social butterfly prior to Covid, so having the ability to interact with other folks has been so beneficial for her. She has made many friends and looks forward to many of the activities provided. I even took my mother-in-law to visit my mom and she was absolutely impressed. This is coming from an individual who hates hospitals, nursing homes, etc. That is saying a lot!! I highly recommend the American House for you or your family. I feel very much at home when I walk through the doors, and I love being able to take my mom out whenever I can. She is happy, and that is all that matters to me!

We LOVE American House! This was an easy decision to make after taking a tour and meeting the staff and we are thrilled with our choice! My dad is very happy and comfortable in his new home and especially with the dining situation. The meals are plentiful and delicious and served by a friendly staff. I’m thinking he’s going to gain a few pounds! The whole building has a happy, energetic vibe and every member of the staff throughout the building has been warm, caring, and helpful. The residents are a lively bunch and there are TONS of activities…something for everyone! The building is clean and attractive and easy to navigate. American House offers so much for their residents and my sisters and I are so happy to see our dad enjoying his experience here. We highly, highly recommend it!

This facility is everything I hoped for.... I talked with Stacie for about a year before making my final decision... I was able to get the room I wanted with a balcony on the east side. I love the staff, they are very friendly and help full. The food here is 5 star ( we have a chef you know) Can't say enough about the facility

We recently moved my dad into American House and we couldn’t be more happy with our decision. We were nervous as this was going to be a big change for him but the staff has been beyond kind and considerate. Everyone, from the management team, the medical team, the housekeeping staff and the dining room attendants are just genuine, down to earth and thoughtful people. They are exactly the people who you can trust with your loved ones. My dad has been enjoying the dining, which is basically like a restaurant and has even participated in a few of the daily activities. There’s even a Senior Activity Center right next door to the building for extra enrichment. The other residents are happy and friendly and he’s making friends. Samantha and Stacie with the management team went so far out of their way to help us get moved in, I’m not sure how to thank them properly. It can be a very stressful decision to move our aging loved ones out of their homes. I completely understand. But if you’ve made that decision already, I urge you to check this place out. I hope your family will like it as much as ours.

This was the first time using respite care for mom, and American House made it an amazing experience. The staff was very helpful in getting us coordinated before the stay and Mom loved being there. My mother could not be happier with American House. From her spacious apartment, wonderful food service, the housekeeping staff, the very friendly and helpful maintenance man, and all the dining room staff to the variety of activities and all the friends she’s made - it’s been a wonderful experience for her. Mom has gone from being depressed and staying in bed all day at home to jumping out of bed to find her new friends and see what’s up today! Thank you to Sam and Stephanie in the front office, Briana in activities, and everyone else who makes American House run efficiently and truly resident-centered. Our family is incredibly grateful!

This is a nice place for older folks who are seeking companionship. For people who can no longer maintain their homes or drive. They can participate in many activities and trips here. They have regular age appropriate entertainment. Although, in my opinion, they serve to much alcohol. Individuals here are already some what impaired. So there's no thought to medication and alcohol interactions and confusion a resident might be expirencing. The staff is nice and cheerful. The residents form peer groups similar to a high school setting for lack of better words. It would be nice to give reminders to fully competent residents that a huge number of residents are either cognitively or physically impaired. For example they don't mean to ignore them or say strange things or appear untidy. They are just struggling. I've seen a form of bullying from the higher functioning residents to the one's needing intervention. This senior living community offerers assisted living care with a in house company called, The Medical Team. Receiving their care is extremely costly and subpar. Unfortunately that seems to be the trend with unskilled health care right now. While this isn't fault of America House they do represent them and should be looked at more carefully. It would also be nice if more eyes were on residents as they age and begin to inevitably decline. There seems to be a communication gap here. It would be a good idea to have resident assessments to remain aware of their needs. Then communicate those needs with a family or care team. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Our Aunt has been here at American House in Grand Blanc for a little more than a year now, and we couldnt be more pleased! Everyone from: Management & Office Staff, Activities Director, Kitchen Staff, House Keeping & Cleaning Staff and Maintenance are very warm and caring. They go out of their way to accommodate whenever possible. The Facility is very pleasant and clean, with 2 elevators. The apartments are spacious. Close to Genesys Hospital and various stores and eateries. Even with the current Covid-19 situation they are making every effort to make the residence safe and comfortable. Our Aunt has developed some nice friendships along the way.

My brother has been living at American House Grand Blanc for over 3 years. On my visits, I have been very impressed with the upkeep and attractiveness of the building and grounds on the outside. The inside also appears to be well kept, clean and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and caring. Samantha and Stacie keep families well-informed with emails (and they are accessible by phone when necessary). COVID has presented a huge challenge, which from my viewpoint has been handled very well. I believe this is why their numbers have been very low. Im sure that after COVID is under control, they will return to offering the wide assortment of activities and field trips that they offered before. In the meantime, they try to provide special activities and special menus for the residents to look forward to. Meals, as ordered from the menu, are currently being delivered to each residents apartment.

Writing this review on behalf of my aunt. She has been at American House Grand Blanc for almost 2 years. She moved from her home that she was very attached to, and the transition to American House was so much better than I anticipated. At her home she was pretty secluded and have very little contact with other people. Since at American House, she has made many friends, has become more involved in all the activities offered like crafts, bingo, etc. We are very happy we made the decision to move her there, and I whole-heartedly believe she is happier there too!

Being a veteran myself and to be able to together with other veterans and share stories and reminisce about past experiences is truly an honor. The camaraderie is evident and humbling. I have participated in several events honoring the veterans and enjoy being involved with not only the veterans but their families. The Wall of Honor displayed when you enter the community is great tribute to the veterans who call American House their home.
