Friendly and helpful staff!

We moved my MIL into Salmon Creek almost 1 year ago and I’m sorry I haven’t given them a 5 star review before now. My first introduction to Salmon Creek was my phone call and meeting with Ryan. He was so considerate and caring, and definitely thinks of every detail when it comes to caring for loved ones. The care and support my MIL has received in the past year (and her sister who visits twice a year) has been beyond what we hoped for and expected. My MIL has made great friends, participates in daily activities, and is SO HAPPY, which is a huge difference from when she lived on her own by herself. All of the residents seem so nice and we are introduced to her friends frequently who feel that her being there is a blessing also. We are very thankful for Salmon Creek, all of the workers, the managers, the residents, and the overall feeling of home and acceptance that is felt there on a daily basis. Ryan-thank you for the introduction of this beautiful community.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the amazing staff at Salmon Creek Retirement. Their dedication to our resident is amazing. Most of the staff has been with us for 4 or more years and the longest is 16 years. They daily go out of their way to help everyone feel wanted and cared for. Keep up the great work you all are very appreciated more than words can express.

EVERYTHING AT SALMON CREEK IS PRETTY GREAT EXCEPT FOR THE DOG BARKING. ALL THE FACILITIES, FOOD AND FUNCTIONS ARE TERRIFIC.

In my search for an independent living facility in Boise Idaho, I had the good fortune to have Ryan Ferrara give me a tour at Salmon Creek Gracious Retirement Living on North Cloverdale Road. I visited 3 other facilities but Ryan stood out as being highly professional but he excels at connecting with people on a personal level and makes you instantly feel comfortable. Additionally, he showcases Salmon Creek's beautiful living amenities and safe environment. During the tour, he paused briefly throughout to acknowledge the residents, the housekeeping and food service staff who he treats like friends while introducing me to them as well. He was very attentive to me and didn't rush me through the tour while pointing out so many positive things throughout the residence. Ryan's personality sold me...he's kindhearted, has a delightful sense of humor, and makes a point of getting to know the individual prospective client rather than just going through a checklist of the property details. Ryan is an amazing asset for your company and I wanted you to know why! Employees like Ryan are why companies succeed where others fail because they don't have a "Ryan" in charge!

Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Very informative, helpful tour by senior level staff person. All concerns answered and solved by his active listening. Offer of "deal" on a 2 bdrm apartment was "too good to refuse". Plan to move in within next 3 - 4 weeks!

My Client and I had a tour today with Jeremy. He was absolutely warm, wonderful and professional. What a fabulous facility. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been privately assisting two residents at Salmon Creek for the past week, and I’m truly impressed by how delightful this community is. The residents, employees, and staff are all exceptionally kind, and there’s a warm, positive energy that’s hard to put into words. It’s something you really have to experience for yourself. The atmosphere is welcoming, the surroundings are clean and beautifully maintained, and it genuinely feels like a special place. If you know someone, or have a loved one, who is looking for independent living without the burden of cooking, laundry, or housekeeping, this is the perfect place for them. The facility offers a wide variety of engaging activities, along with transportation services and planned outings that keep residents active, social, and well cared for.

This is a lovely, well maintained facility for seniors age 55+ who seek an independent living style. Tastefully decorated & managed by friendly professionals, the many amenities here are enjoyed by all the residents. All meals are included & are prepared by a professional chef, offering a nice menu from which to choose. There are several daily activities that residents can enjoy at their discretion.

Don't be fooled by fake reviews, this place is NOT great. It is low budget at your expense. Food sucks, very short on meat, and you most DEFINITELY do not get "large portion sizes" or "all you want". No bread choices, just white. A serving of "chicken breast" was actually 1/4 of a breast including all the bones and ribs, about 2 bites. Remember people, this place is FOR PROFIT, and making money is the #1 priority. Simple improvement requests to their corporate headquarters (there is no General Manager at this facility, so the buck stops with no one) go ignored. Be prepared for a large rent increase each year. Promises by the staff are outright lies, I've heard numerous complaints of this. Once you move in it's hard to leave and they have you trapped. You have to eat at exact times, no flexibility on meals. This place is supposed to be "independent living" but many people here cannot care for themselves and evidently lack the means to hire additional help, as evidenced by the smell of urine at various doorways, especially near the dining room. I have to avoid a couple people who are limited in mobility and, quite simply, reek. And have fun with the yapping dogs and being tripped by their long leashes, only 1 elevator for the entire campus, motorized scooters in the way, and surly, seemingly overworked "managers". There are worse places in the area but those other facilities take Medicaid. You pay your own way at Salmon Creek, there are much better options in the area, such as Valley View and Paramount.

Salmon Creek has exceeded our expectations in every way. At our guest meal we witnessed about 80 people all engaged in conversation, laughter and high energy. This continues as we share meals with many of the residents. The meals are prepared by chefs and are exceptional in their quality and presentation. We appreciate the size of the servings. Portion controlled with a great balance of food groups, the kitchen produces a great balance of quality and quantity. And, you can order as much as you want. The staff is very good at being friendly, helpful and accomodating to our every need. It is such a warm and friendly experience when they remember our names, particular things we like and always served gracefully. In fact, they take the extra steps to set food down directly in front of each of us rather than reaching over anyone. Always serving one person at a time. It is doubly beneficial when they hire students from the high school across the street to work many of the meals. The students get to experience working with people of different generations and we get to be around bright young people. The rooms have been completely updated with flooring, walls, etc. before moving in so the unit is like brand new. And the maintenance staff keeps the whole place clean and well tended. Our activities director has a continuous array of events and activities that are easy to participate in for all levels of mobility. The special services of excursions, shopping trips and medical transportation is a blessing for all of us. My personal favorite is the pool table! I could say more about the benefits and features of Salmon Creek. It is the best thing we have done for ourselves. Thank you. Chuck and Liz Tate

Competent, caring staff. Nice people. Disappointed in the quality of the food and amount of protein offered. Don't love barking dogs.

I lived at Salmon Creek in Boise for 7 months and my sons wanted me to move closer to one of them. That was the biggest mistake. The independent living facility in Ogden Utah was an absolute dump and there were no repairs done to my apartment. There was no lock on my living room window, the kitchen sink dripped nonstop and my family had to replace the shower head. The food was awful and there were a couple times they had an issue with kitchen staff and the residents were served grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. There were no activities at all. I lasted 6 months in Ogden and I moved back to Salmon Creek where I have no blood family in town but I have all my family of friends. I really missed the staff and residents and I am back home. The apartment is wonderful, the food and kitchen staff is outstanding and there is always activities going on. Thank you Jon and Jenn and Janet and Clifford for welcoming me back home.

Over the past year, I have "checked out" Boise retirement centers on a casual, pre-planning basis. Getting down to the serious stage of selling our place and moving, I sent out requests for contact with specific centers. I hardly had time to put the period on my last sentence before Ryan Serrera was returning my call. That man is fireball! It must be that Ryan believes he has the best, and wants to share it! Before I knew it, we were talking at my dining room table, and he was doing just that - sharing a flawless Salmon Creek lunch and information that was too good to ignore. A short time later, my son and I met Ryan for a preview visit at Salmon Creek Gracious Retirement Living. The first feeling I had was warmth. A very nice lady welcomed us, and then Ryan took us on a tour. I felt so much comfort and like I was at home. No kidding, as I met some residents who were kind enough to take time for a visit, I really didn't want to leave. There is a feeling of belonging at Salmon Creek. Belonging in the way you do at home. Everything from the foyer to the apartments, the optional exercise room, residents' kitchen, library, dining and kitchen...even an outdoor gardening area...everything is open, fresh, clean to a fault, and oh so friendly. Security and emergency measures are in place, and I know I won't have a worry in the world, living in this wonderful "home". Thanks, Ryan, for caring so much. You are meant for this endeavor. You're definitely the right person in the right place, and I am looking forward to being able to say "Hi, Ryan!" when I'm sitting down to one of those delightful meals in my new home. Dianne Brack

I helped move a client and good friend here recently and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d like to live there myself! The cost, while outwardly seeming a bit much, is actually VERY good and WAY less than my client/friend was paying with the mortgage, utilities, grocery bill, transportation, etc. Although there is no security other than the outer doors locking at like 8:30pm each night, I do feel like it is a secure, safe, stimulating environment for yourself or a loved one. Because the units are apartments, you can go down to any/all of the multiple course style served meals, cook in the little apartment kitchenette, or even go to the community full kitchen for residents (full range, oven, etc versus the microwave, toaster over, coffee pots, electric kettles, or air fryer you may have in your kitchenette”no range, oven, or hot plates in the apartments) if you want to bake something or grab a sandwich, green salad, variety of pasta/potato/macaroni salads, fruit cup, whole fruit pieces, boiled eggs, cheese cubes or sticks, or whatever snack/bistro/deli type foods they have available in the community fridge daily. You can also keep to yourself as you would in any other apt complex or get involved and meet people and keep busy. It definitely allows for you, as the resident, to decide your level of community involvement. I also cannot say enough great things about Janet, Cliff, and Ryan in the front office, Sean (or Shawn?? Sorry, friend!) in Maintenance, and all the kitchen and serving staff in the dining area. Each of all those people endeavor to be kind, welcoming, and helpful as well as knowing the resident’s name, their food preferences in the dining area, and are just fabulous in general. If I had to make one complaint, it would simply that they need a second (and probably third) elevator. There is only ONE for all three floors of residents.

We were welcomed, and enjoyed a warm visit and stay at Salmon Creek. The Guest Suite was a bonus to be able to spend time with my Uncle. The meals and accommodations were pleasant, and each staff member genuine and caring. Thank you! Jim and Darcy Harris

My parents have been at Salmon Creek over 4 years. This is an amazing place to live. EVERY SINGLE PERSON who works at SC are so nice and so friendly. It is such peace of mind to know my folks are safe, comfortable, and have a social life. John, Jenn, Margarita, James, Makayla and so many others show how much they care everyday! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am a caregiver by trade and have seen and experienced many Places for the elderly in my time. Salmon Creek is the best of the best. Ryan is the most amazing, caring, honest, loyal Marketing Mngr I have ever worked with or met. When you walk into salmon Creek, Ryan makes you feel at home. The mngmnt is amazing and they all work so hard. No one walks in and leaves just being another number. The care they put into their residents is top notch. Ryan and team go out of their way to make sure you have what you need to be completely satisfied, at home and get you settled. I would not recommend any other place for a senior. Family or not, there is no comparison.

We appreciate all the hard work that went into the party. Also, would like to thank you for the seasoned meat rub gift. It smells heavenly; we'll use it a lot. Thanks for the fun. Pat & Harold Dye

The retirement living lives up to their promises! Ryan is great to work with and very accommodating from beginning to end. Very helpful. Great food and all the employees plus residences are very nice. We looked at 6 places and this was the right one after a year and half at another place that they didn't like. Thumbs up. ‘

I routinely visit retirement communities in the treasure valley as a requirement of my job. Salmon Creek is by far the friendliest and most welcoming. There is a bond between the staff and the residents that is obvious by watching the interactions. The activities (and director Nikki) are on point with keeping a calendar full of interactive and fun events. The smells from the kitchen are UH-MAY-ZING. Salmon Creek is like a huge family.

What a joy it has been working with Jennifer Gill to get my Mom set up on her new adventure and chapter in life. I spent many hours on line researching facilities for Mom to go and check out and set up 3 personal tours for her. When she walked into Salmon Creek she said "I've found my new home". Hearing that made my siblings and I so very happy. From beginning to end of the process of Mom picking out her new home to now her moving in has been very smooth. Everyone at Salmon Creek seems to genuinely care about Mom and getting her settled in and we are looking forward to many happy years to come with Mom at Salmon Creek enjoying the next chapter in her life.
