I reside in a one-bedroom deluxe apartment on an upper floor of the York House South Apartments. The living room and bedroom are quite large, with several closets plus a walk-in closet, good-sized pantry and linen closet; two fully-appointed bathrooms; small kitchen equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and ample cabinet space. There are heating/air-conditioning units in the living room and bedroom. All utilities and amenities (including basic cable television) are bundled in all-inclusive rental price. Maintenance is on-site, superlative and responsive. Management is also on-site, multi-tasking, with a round-the-clock concierge who monitors the secured entry portal and video monitors at other passageways, receives and stores large packages for residents. Individual mail is delivered by the USPS on a daily basis. There is an updated laundry facility and lounge on the lower floor; sizable lobby, ballroom, and restrooms on the ground floor; and another lounge, large dining room, conference room, exercise room, computer room, and library on the first floor; plus some other facilities on the second floor and in a connected building. The fenced landscape that surrounds the apartment complex is superb, with a paved walkway, seating, beautiful trees and plantings; it is also well-maintained and updated as the seasons change. Parking is available on the street or in a parking lot at the rear of the building (for a modest monthly charge). A major part of the amenities are the multiple activities created and led by an energetic full-time staff member, Ms. Marquise Brown. In recent months, the June Nineteenth and July Fourth celebrations were particularly notable; including a choregraphed drill team and a return visit from a pastor who had once been a long-time resident. Regularly scheduled activities include weekly shopping trips, crafting, weekly Bingo where everyone is a winner, birthday and holiday celebrations with refreshments and food, in-house and outside movie nights, round-table discussions with multiple health-care sponsors, casino trips, outside dining, and other major excursions. In my opinion, it is the genuine, friendly, and empathic staff and fellow residents that define a hospitable living experience in our senior years. It is here in abundance, affordable, secure, and in a convenient location (with Albert Einstein Medical Center one block away)…

Attractive lobby. Many activities for residents. Studio apartments are standard size and floor plans are decent. Building common areas are well maintained. Outside benches in a garden like setting are a plus. Staff seems to care and are available to talk to.

Lived her for a year and a half. Really quiet but infested with roaches moved out because of the fact and yes i was clean if you were wondering. Some neighbors have a hard time cleaning up their apartment due to medical conditions which i sympathize with but that's no excuse. Management needs to get a hold on the bug issue — either they need to have more help in their apartment or get exterminating regularly. I/we pay too much money for rent to constantly have an infestation problem. I have photos of you need proof.

So far its been ok. Seeing transitions is always expected. Hoping security, concierge, residents & management make great suggestions within reason, funds for a better establishment.
