I've been living at the community for a few months now and I have to say it feels like home. The residents become your family and they listen, help and care for one another. I feel most welcome. The staff is very kind, especially Amanda ,because she understands and listens to what I'm going through. Amanda takes the time to stop what she is doing and listens to me. It's hard when you lose your partner of 61 years. I'm learning how to make new friends and have new experiences. I really like the indoor volleyball class, stretch with Karen and the events are fun. I'm very happy I have moved to Simi Hills.

My uncle came here after a hospital stay and needed help rebuilding his strength. Physical therapy was structured and encouraging, while the nursing team managed his medications carefully. He made steady progress during his stay.

I love the omelet bar they have once a month, the cleanliness of the dinning room, I love the atmosphere and all the servers, and the excellent team of chef they have, I love retirement never thought this place, would be so much fun, so much activities to join in.

Wonderful environment. Great people. Nice residents. Reasonable prices. Great food. Birthdays are fun. They listen well and have immense patience. They respond very quickly to even the most minor requests. They do an excellent job producing meals that everyone can partake of easily and has great flavor. Don't change a thing except maybe a little bit less salt sometimes. We are all very happy with everything at this point. Could not be better. Beautiful setting. Warm and friendly people. Maybe a few more parking spots.

My mom has been at Simi Hills for 3 years. We have been through a lot of staff. The team at Simi right now is the best in the business. We got a new General Manager at the start of 2025 and she is phenomenal. She has brought in amazing employees that care about the residents. The community is always gorgeous and clean. Hands down the best group of employees at any senior living around.

My mom, Sara, was a resident of Simi Hills for over 3-1/2 years. We were very pleased with the staff, genuinely caring and providing best possible service to this Independent Living Senior Community. I was also very grateful that the residents were "sharp" and provided lively meal conversations that developed into genuine friendships. Simi Hills offers a variety of activities and social opportunities such that there is something for truly everyone. They are thoughtful and do their best to honor the needs of everyone. My mother celebrated her 100th birthday here last year, and was treated royally. She had been generally independent up until her last month. The middle of this year Mom's health started to decline and we were blessed to have Choice Hospice and Caregiving programs on site at Simi Hills to attend her needs. Choice is a new 24/7 service provider at Simi Hills, and they could not have been more helpful, respectful, professional and kind. They truly were a godsend and allowed my mother to live out her final days in the comfort of her own apartment. Hanna, the Choice RN, patiently guided us through the ups and downs associated with one's last days. The attending medical doctor was able to order a wheel chair, medications, and finally a hospital bed which were delivered to Mom's room. I was able to stay with her, as well as host visitation from family members. As Mom's needs became more complicated, the Choice caregiving team was available at all hours of the day and night to graciously assist with tasks too difficult for me. Mom also was thankful for the extra care she received from the certified nursing assistant, who served under Hanna. Additionally, we had the support of a caring Chaplain and a knowledgeable social worker who helped educate me regarding final details. I cannot imagine a better ending, if a life must come to a close, than what we experienced. Simi Hills staff and residents, plus the Choice Hospice and Caregiving teams were all very encouraging and kind. Sara and I would want you to know how much we appreciated each one of you.

My dad has been a resident of Simi Hills for almost two years. The office staff are all so welcoming, kind, and always helpful. There are so many nice residents and he’s made many friends. I should also mention that the rest of the staff, including the dining room/kitchen staff, housekeepers, and maintenance couldn’t be nicer. The grounds and views are beautiful. There’s a great path for walking which my dad loves and the courtyard is a great place to relax and enjoy some time outside. The recent remodel turned out beautiful and provided a nice updated look. His apartment is the perfect size. He has a nice living area with a small kitchenette and a separate bedroom with a bathroom. My dad really enjoys socializing with friends in the dining room for the three meals they provide daily. There’s plenty of activities and entertainment available. My dad and I both highly recommend Simi Hills!

Some amazing changes at Simi Hills Retirement! Incredibly necessary changes that are now putting this facility back on the desired list for your loved ones who need some extra loving care! First, they now have an awesome General Manager, who was promoted from her Assistant General Manager position. She truly loves and cares about the residents who call Simi Hills their home! Connie is not only competent, qualified and kind, she is the breath of fresh air this facility and their staff so desperately needed. She is well loved by, not only the residents, but by her staff, as well. One of her first priorities as GM was to reach out to Cindy Lee, the previous Activity Coordinator, who left just 3 months ago. Cindy Lee returned to a Hero’s welcome this week. WELL DONE Connie! Congratulations on your new, well deserved, new position. And a huge WELCOME BACK to Cindy Lee. Cindy Lee is truly the heart of the Simi Hills family. And lastly, Simi Hills could not run without the expertise of their Officer Manager, Karen. She is an integral part of this community and is always there to help the residents and their families. I can truly recommend Simi Hills Retirement to other families with no reservations.

This post is to applaud the work of Sean Slattery "bus driver" at this retirement facility where I am a senior, disabled resident. Sean does much more than drive residents to urgent doctor appointments, labs and stores for essential supplies. He repairs our walkers, scooters and cell phones. He is a team player who serves our meals, mans the front desk and fills in for any missing staff when staff needs him. Shaun works with an enthusiastic and compassionate attitude, he is reliable and loved by residents and most of the staff. Sean has elevated the morale of this home and creates a more functional environment where we can strive to meet our goals We depend upon Sean as we enter the final chapter of our lives and as we know the quality of a business depends upon the quality of its workers Thank you Sean and we home to have you with us for many more years

For the last few years my father has been very comfortable here. He previously lived at a different retirement community (also in Simi Valley), and by comparison this place has a lot more human interaction and friendly activity. My dad plays poker 3 times a week, Rummy Tile, and occasionally goes to the fitness sessions which seem to help his condition (Parkinson's). I can also say that the staff is very friendly and helpful, and we just started having a Caregiver help him every morning, which has been working out great. As his only son, I've been given peace of mind that my dad is in a good place.

Moved my parents in recently. So far the staff and the people have been wonderful. They seem to really work hard to make sure the community is happy and it shows. It’s a small community making it perfect for personal attention which is important. Will keep you posted.
