My parents moved into Aegis Carmichael In late March after a very trying experience with hospitals and rehabilitation centers. I could no longer take care of them at home, and there was no way that we could afford 24 hour in-home care and continue paying all their bills. From the moment I spoke with Lisa, I finally felt like there was someone who understood the amount of stress that I was under and was sincerely there to help. Lisa, Mauricio, and the whole staff at Aegis are wonderful. From the restaurant crew, to the cleaning crew, to the caretakers, to management all have shown nothing but compassion and support. One of the biggest things I worried about was making sure that, In their golden years, they had a good quality of life and were happy. The last year, taking care of them, that became very difficult for me because their needs were so many. It took me a minute to adjust to someone else coming in and taking over, and I can say that, given what I’ve seen over the last four months, I’m comfortable with the care of my parents, and I know that they are thriving Possibly even better than when I was caring for them. The whole team at Aegis Carmichael comes together to do their best by our parents. They are organized, everything is clean and well-maintainedPricing isn’t too much more or less expensive than other places, given their needs, especially considering all of the services and attention that my parents get. I’m most surprised by how my parents have bonded with Lisa and the staff. I was so worried that they would be someplace where they would feel alone or scared, and it’s the opposite. I’m thankful that they were there to help us in a very difficult situation. I know that our challenges aren’t over, but it really helps having knowledgeable professionals to help us navigate these challenging times.

My mother moved in about a month ago, and it has been a tremendous turnaround in the quality of her life. After the loss of my father some years ago, my mother has been somewhat isolated and withdrawn from a social life. When it was time to find assisted living for my parents, I toured five facilities. I felt immediate warmth walking into Aegis. The staff truly care and are happy to be there. That comes from the top and I have watched Mauricio and Lisa personally connect with my parents. I know they're well cared for and that peace of mind is priceless.

We recently moved my mother into Aegis Carmichael after having a horrible experience with an Oakmont property. From the initial visit to the move in, the team here has been fantastic. The staff truly love their work and the care they show residents is a testament to this. Trust me you don’t want your family member in a community that only cares about money. This place is legit. More about my experience (sorry it will be long). We were very traumatized initially because we had to make a move within 48 hours to get my mother out of the other place and I was only in town for a day. The Director, Lisa, accommodated us over the weekend and helped us understand options. The team all rallied over the weekend to get my mother assessed and were able to get us into an apartment by the time I had to leave two days later. We had to get into care so quickly that they made respite care available which allowed us to move my mother immediately into a furnished unit while we waited to move her things. I wasn’t expecting the resident experience to be as good as the care team. My mother seems to love her neighbors and has adjusted to the community well. The team here keep the residents busy which is so important for aging loved ones. Unlike her previous community, the team comes to get her regularly and engages her with kindness and care. I think this is reflective of the residents being happy. I am not a person who gives unwarranted reviews (you can read my scathing review of The Lodge) so when I post it’s because the experience is remarkable. If you are looking for a place for your family member give this place a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

I recently moved my 94 year old mom to this facility. The moving process was smooth, the staff were available and helpful. She has consistent caregivers who are kind and capable. The activities are varied and the staff try to get her out and involved. Her room and the rest of the facility are kept very clean. The nursing staff has been immediately available and on top of any medical/medication changes. A physician will come to Aegis to care for her and there are a podiatrist and hair stylist/manicurist who come as well. I recommend this facility without reservation.

Our friend moved into the this facility recently. She is well taken care of and is enjoying this transition in her life. The staff is friendly, kind and efficient. We celebrated our friends birthday at Aegis recently and it was wonderful. Everyone was so helpful. Highly recommend.

My mom went from being able to live on her own to needing memory care in a very short period of time. We would have been lost had it not been for Aegis. Beautiful facility with caring staff. Your family member will be part of a vibrant, active community with activities both in the facility and out in the community. I cant think of a place I would rather have my mom. I can only hope to be in as nice a situation when its my turn to need assisted living.

Frank Starkey: This is a comfortable place to live. I don’t fear what’s coming my way, especially at night when I get scared, I know I am in a safe place. It’s been pretty well done to where I know I’m in a safe place. Plenty of activities to do here, I think they are paramount. If I was at home, I would just be sitting watching tv, this place gives me plenty to do.

I can't say enough good things about Aegis of Carmichael. The staff truly has treated my family and our loved one residing there as Family. It is not an easy thing to have to put a family member into Memory Care, however the staff at Aegis took us through the process with the greatest care, consideration and support that I could have ever imagined. The lovely physical plant is matched by caring lovely folks. I moved my mother from Florida to Aegis because of mild cognitive impairment preventing her from living alone. The staff never fail to respond to my questions and have gone out of their way to help my mother adjust to a different culture and environment. They even helped us get an electric Menorah so we could celebrate Chanukah (without starting a fire!). She was delighted and so was I.

We moved our Mom from a much larger facility because we felt she was not getting the care she needed. She lived at Aegis for three years and we could not have been happier. All of the staff are the most caring individuals and showed her and us so much love. They were always there for us and Mom. All the aides were excellent but Myra was an exception. She truly cared for Mom and it showed. Thank you Leyla, Steffanie, Melissa, Michelle, Myra, Debbie and all the rest for taking such good care of our Mom. We highly recommend Aegis to anyone looking for a safe loving home for a family member.
