Bickford of Virginia Beach is a great assisted living alternative for the Hampton Roads community. In particular, its modest size is easy for seniors to navigate and yet still provides residents with ample common area space. The overall building security also provides an added measure of safety for the residents and team.

The Bickford was home to our mom for several years until her recent passing. She started in assisted living and later moved to the memory center. Our mom (as well as our whole family!) felt welcomed and well cared for by the capable and loving staff. We can't imagine a better place for loved ones to get the attention and care they require while providing them and their family a home-like setting to be together in. Highly recommended!

Bickford of Virginia Beach cared for my mother for over five years. We recently moved her to another state due to a change in family circumstances. I wanted to share that Bickford took great care of my mother during her stay there. The facility is clean, bright, and well maintained. The location is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and medical facilities. The staff is professional and caring. Loryn, Heather, Tiaqua, Billie, and Leroy all have my gratitude for their service to the community and for the care that they provided my mother. They and the rest of the outstanding staff deserve a special place in heaven for their kindness, dedication, and hard work they do in maintaining a first class facility for the care of our senior family members.

I toured this community and am so impressed with their approach to care using the Higher Path. The entire team was actively interacting and caring for residents. The building was designed for interaction and so homey and warm. If you are looking for a healthier, happier, safer place for your loved one you should visit Bickford.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility and the way the entire staff took such good care of my mother the short time she was there! Loryn, Heather, Jasmine and Angie are completely top notch and attentive to the needs of the residents and I highly recommend this facility to anyone having to make the difficult decision to move a loved one into a more suitable living situation.I particularly love the fact that it's a smaller facility so you are able to receive more individual attention.Its an extremely welcoming place and the food is great as well!! Highly recommend!!!

Bickford of Virginia Beach is a great Assisted, Independent and Memory care facility. I have been there many times professionally as a first responder and the staff has always been helpful in caring for their residents. Heather Starr-Cress is so caring she always goes the extra mile when she takes on a potential new resident or just anyone who needs help. Definitely give her and her staff a call.

Of all the places for a senior to call home, this place actually feels like home, with extra personal touches like the patio garden area at the center of the whole building, and the cafe area perfect for meeting with family and friends. The food is delicious and there is always something fun happening every time I visit with the residents. Thank you Bickford

This is a long ,long overdue rating; but never too late. The Bickford served my family in 2019 and 2020 by caring for my dad .My Dad, Dory Timberlake was a Purple Heart Korean War Veteran. He went from a normal day to a neurological tragic day in 24 hours. After his brief hospital stay , the Bickford became our comfort. Not only did they care for my Dad in beautiful surroundings that made him feel at home; they advised my family in matters of dad’s care and personal needs. Mom was able to visit and even eat meals with him to provide a seamless transition. For Thanksgiving , the family ate with him at the Bickford, a gesture we will never forget .That is the kind of place the Bickford was and is for families walking in uncharted waters. Almost 4 years later, I am still grateful for the foundational care my dad and family received before he went home to be with the Lord in 2020. We are still comforted . Thank you Bickford management, staff and nurses. You are priceless.

This building exudes warmth and love! They have an amazing care team. If you are lucky to meet their Happiness Coordinator, Angie, she is wonderful and amazing at keeping residents engaged and happy. My #1 choice for Senior Living in Virginia Beach! Also they are all on 1 floor making it ideal place to age in place for seniors!

At first when my mother git there things were great but boy things has changed! When she need assistance and pushes the button for help there was times it took over 2 hours for someone to come check on her! Here yesterday she gets released from hopsital on oxygen and she calls because she pushed button for help and noone shows up again! Had to ran out there to make sure everything is good! For how much money this place charges you would think they would care more about their residents! Things don't change soon, guess will be looking for another place for my mom!

I tried to call Bickford on Memorial Day to talk to my mother several states away... The phone rang 14 times then rolled over to voicemail...which was full...so I couldnt leave a message. I called on the next day...and was told I was being transferred so I could speak with mom...Bickford cut me off. I had to call back and the worker seemed perturbed that she had to go get my mom once again to come to the phone. I have asked Bickford to add my name as a contact should anything happen to my mom. My sister refuses to communicate with me concerning my moms care...because SHE has the POA.

Bickford of Virginia Beach has been a wonderful addition to the area. The activities are very engaging and I love the home-like feel. Every time I visit, the staff is so friendly and welcoming, from the concierge to the caregivers to the handyman to the directors. And the residents are always happy and involved from my observations, too. As a senior care professional myself, if I was having to make a decision for my own loved one, I would choose Bickford of Virginia Beach easily.

Beautiful place with an energetic and loving vibe. My apprehensions of a dismal sad and lonely assisted living center were quickly dismissed when the door opened and my jaw hit the ground. It was nothing like I expected and everyone (especially resident Ms. Jones ) were full of happiness and seemed to truly enjoy being there. The employees were quick to acknowledge us and made us feel welcome. Just an FYI We showed up unannounced so it wasn’t as if they had time to put on a fake show.
