I'm so impressed with Discovery Commons, their beautiful facility and their wonderful staff! For the past several months, I've been leading art classes with Kennedy and her assistants, and it's been so fulfilling to connect with the residents through arts & crafts. From coordinating the projects, to helping the artists bring their visions to life with fun & engaging materials, the whole experience has filled my cup and I genuinely look forward to it each time. I'd also just like to note how super lovely and spacious their activity room is. It's splashing with natural light, and there's often music playing in the background, making it a very pleasant environment.

My mom has lived in this AL community since 2023, and she has been very happy. She recently transitioned into the memory care unit, where she is doing very well. Her care team is caring and attentive. Administrative staff are always available to answer questions. Activities provided are well rounded and well thought out. Highly recommend a visit if you are considering a care community for yourself or a loved one.

I love Discovery Commons! My in-laws are both residents there, and they are so loved and cared for by the staff. It helps our family sleep at night knowing they are being tended to by such wonderful, kind people. Keyona Staples is especially amazing-- I couldn't imagine anyone better in her role as Director of Memory Care. She has a heart of gold, is always walking around helping care for everyone, and I've never seen her not smiling!

One thing I've learned from years of visiting senior communities is that only a few capture "It", a sense of community and caring that is invisible but definitely there - - you can feel the warmth from the first moment you step through the door. My experience with Discovery has been nothing short of excellent. The staff treat everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion. The activities director Kennedy does an amazing job creating a fun environment for the residents not only in Assisted Living but their Memory Care unit as well. Been a frequent volunteer here and the experience has been wonderful thus far. Staff is incredibly friendly, areas and common spaces have always been well kept, and the residents seem to enjoy their times doing activities. I have helped with bingo days and it is always so nice how all the residents are super excited and cheerful to be participating as a community. Highly recommend this facility that promotes a sense of belonging, a staff team that truly cares for the residents, and overall a gorgeous and peaceful location.

My mother lived there for over three years. It was a great place for her. The community of staff and residents made her feel at home and valued her personally. The care she received was top notch. I was at peace having her there. Communication from the staff about social events and happenings, as well as more urgent issues specifically regarding my mom were superb. Access to excellent medical care was easy and comforting. We will miss Heartis North Shore!

Shantay has been a blessing everyday she's here at Heartis,for example my sister Dawn and I were late today we're here everyday for breakfast with mom,Shantay stepped right in and sat with her and helped her eat her breakfast,then walked around ,held her hand and talked with her.Margir can sometimes be difficult especially in the morning,after walking Shantay noticed mom was looking sleepy and took her to her room.We came shortly after and she noticed ,asked me if I'd like a cup of coffee,got the coffee and a pitcher of water,for us and as usual while being so sweet and with a huge smile.She is just a joy to see and feel her positive energy first thing in morning! We see her constantly tending to all the residents ,always with compassion no matter how difficult it can be at times

This community is one of the most positive, professional, well respected and highly rated in southeast Wisconsin. You will not find another community like this with as many nursing professionals, amazing, caregivers, kind hearts from the maintenance, to the dietitian staff to the receptionist, the executive, Director, the activities, directors, and the sales and marketing team! I work for a company that provides healthcare to residence when they’re in need of returning to their level of function to keep them as independent as possible. My clinical staff is absolutely amazed at what an incredible location. This is and we are in communities like this, and many of the surrounding counties. I highly recommend to my family and to friends who ask where they would send, or should send their family members for assisted-living, memory care, or independent living and this is absolutely one of the first places that I will always recommend!

I wanted to mention the outstanding caregivers that are at Heartis North Shore. First, I would like to thank Mel for being proactive and taking care of a situation. She noticed that a comforter had been soiled and took it upon herself to make sure that the item was laundered. Mel did not need to be asked to do this. She just did it because she is a just great caregiver! I also would like to thank Ryan for all the help and support she provides my sister. I believe she truly enjoys what she does and I know my sister appreciates it as much as I do. These two caregivers along with countless others should be commended for all of the hard work and compassion they provide to the residents and their families. Their efforts do not go unnoticed. I am so happy that we found Heartis!

My dad has been at Heartis since the end of June. There were a few issues at the beginning like getting his showers on a weekly basis, laundry returned end of day etc. However, the staff seems to have gotten those issues taken care of. I am happy with the care he is getting and am especially happy with the activities that are offered. Dad hasn't taken part in any of the off site activities but he loves the social hours with alcoholic beverages and snacks. Also, the guest speakers as well. We are Jewish and Heartis has been recognizing the Jewish holidays with special activities for the Jewish residents. And The community of residents is wonderful. He has made several friends and enjoys seeing his dining room table mates greatly. Dad came down with COVID on December 30. It wasn't confirmed until after the head nurse had left for the holiday weekend. She came back to Heartis in the late afternoon, saw him, got intouch with his doctor's office to get Paxlovid prescribed and made sure he was comfortable before leaving again. I felt very good that he was being taken care of. All in all I would recommend Heartis.

This beautiful facility is staffed with beautiful people. As a hospice chaplain I have occasion to visit the place a minimum of twice weekly, staying for a couple hours each time. Unfailingly, I leave feeling encouraged and inwardly warmed by my experience. Aides, housekeepers, nurses, and administrators are uniformly very friendly and devoted to high quality care, with integrity and respect for the residents.

My mom and I recently toured the Heartis facility with Angie Mehring and loved it. Angie and her team could not have been more welcoming and Angie did a great job walking us through all of the various options that Heartis has to offer for residents in various life stages. The facility itself is gorgeous and very well appointed, and though we couldn't tour the outside grounds due to weather we could see how beautiful the setting is and how peaceful the residents must find it.

My mother recently moved into Heartis Village North Shore and things are going exceptionally well. Angie and team were fabulous from the minute we 1st walked in the door to tour and made my mother's move in and transition relatively stress-free. And it's now been just over a week and my brother commented "the difference in mom is amazing...she is doing so much more and her outlook is so much better." Thank you Heartis Village North Shore.

My mother and brother have lived on the assisted living side of the facility for the past six months. The building is fresh and lovely, with many serene spaces for visiting, TV, or to enjoy the social events. Nature is very important to well-being, and favorite spaces are the pond and patio, with woods and lots of wildlife, as well as the inner courtyard for events. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious, with a homey, bright and open feel, and perfectly arranged for senior convenience and safety. The food is excellent (shout-out to Chef Charles) and plentiful, which warrants a daily visit to the very nice gym! The in-house medical care has improved greatly in recent months, although it remains important that family members remain engaged and communicate with medical personnel to ensure good medical care. The caregivers are generally short staffed, but I hear that is common at any assisted living facility. The best aspect of Heartis has been the lengths to which the activity staff, chefs, and others have gone to make my family members feel cared for. Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear of some sweet gesture on the part of the staff.

Our family is so appreciative of the care provided to our loved ones by Heartis staff during this very difficult year. They have been flexible and responsive to our needs, and most importantly have done their utmost to care for our parents during this time when we are unable to be as present as we would want to be due to Covid19. The facility, grounds and apartments are beautiful and the programming staff goes above and beyond in providing opportunities for residents to remain engaged. We’re so grateful to the staff at Heartis for their efforts and hard work during this very challenging time.

I would highly recommend this facility. My Mom was fortunate to be a part of the Heartis Village Memory Care unit for just under a year. The room was spacious and beautiful, as was the entire facility. My biggest praise goes for the staff. From the moment my Mom moved in, they were friendly, attentive and treated my Mom with dignity and respect. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my Mom.
