As a former Employee, I don't find it too difficult to leave an appropriate review. The staff may be super friendly. The food is very good!! The ambience created by the minds of the residents will be very reassuring!! I still do feel as though… "if u may care 4 ur elderly citizen at home" "you will".

My mom has been at The Sheridan of Park Ridge since early 2020, right before COVID. As others have shared, it is a difficult decision to make but finally my mom realized that her tri-level home was too much for her. After looking at different Assisted Living places, we felt that The Sheridan was the perfect size for her and everyone was very warm and welcoming. With all of the family working, we utilized a Senior Moving Co., CMFTO, to make a smooth transition and have it feel like home right away. She was a bit depressed at the beginning but the staff was very supportive and did their best to engage her in activities and make new friends. Then COVID hit and protocol changed but she was happy in her apartment, the staff took great care of her and she enjoyed her meals in her room. There have been a leadership and personnel changes in the last 2 years and communication was not always the best but the current leadership seems to be great! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her regular CNAs and nurses, they have been awesome! Very loving and caring! Because they are short staffed though, sometimes on weekends they have agency workers who do their jobs but don't really know the residents unless they have been at the Sheridan before, so aren't as nurturing but are doing their best. For the last few months my mom was with hospice there, Suncrest Hospice did a wonderful job and worked well with the staff. My mom was happy and loved and that was all we could ask for at her end of life.

My mom has been there since it opened in 2018. We have been very happy with her care she receives. Lana, the dining room director has been great when dealing with my moms dietary issues. Mae in the business office has been great. Both she and lana have been there from the start. Kim, the new director has been very responsive to dealing with any issues in the community. They have dealt with the covid situation and made sure the residents are safe and happy. It has been a difficult situation over the past two years, and the staff has been great.

I'm grateful for the service my grandma has received at the Sheridan. Vivian in particular has been wonderful. She's a ray of sunshine to the residents and their loved ones visiting. Seriously the most positive and sweet person. She even brought dinner to my mom and aunt when they spent a long day at my grandma's side. I'm also really impressed by the overall decor of the facility. I walked in the door and was like "Am I in a luxury hotel??" I appreciate them making a beautiful home for their loved ones to spend their days.

My mother has lived at the Sheridan for almost 2 years now. She moved there during the pandemic and things were understandably challenging. However, there are things that have to be amended. The cost to live there is too high for the quality of services to be slacking. For example, there is a therapeutic bathtub that has been broken since we moved in. It is one of the reasons why we choose Sheridan. My mother has a history of falling and soaking in a hot tub helps relieve her pain. We have been trying to get her a bath for over 10 months. It really is unacceptable. In addition, the quality of the food is not very good. My mom has diabetes, liver cirrhosis and dementia and should be eating healthy vegetables and fruits but instead is given meals completely made with carbohydrates. She is given pasta with rice or rice with potatoes. Lastly, the nurses and staff are some of the kindest people who are overworked and underpaid. The Sheridan hires outside temporary staff who come from an agency. Most times they don't show the same level of care and respect of the permanent staff, understandably, and the permanent staff have to train and supervise as well as take care of their own duties. Overall, Sheridan is a wonderful facility and my mother loves living there but they should pay attention to the resident's individual needs more. The cost is too high for there to be so many snags in the service.

My 93 year old father has been living at the Sheridan for about 3 ½ months. Every day I am thankful I chose the Sheridan for my dad. I admit it was not an easy transition for him. He was faced with overwhelming changes. He was a very recent widower with a marriage of 72 years. His car was taken away from him (by me). And he was being forced from his tri-level house where he and mom had lived since 1960 (again by me). He grumbled before he went in and after he was there. For a while. Now, he thanks me almost every day for making that decision. He is very happy there. He loves the food. He loves the attention that he gets from the staff. He loves his apartment. He loves the amenities. Among other activities, the Sheridan has a 90 inch television on which they show movies every night. Its like going to a movie house. Concerning the staff: Some people do their job because it is a job and they want the money. And it shows. Others do their job because they care about the job they are doing. And that also shows. I find the staff at the Sheridan, at all levels, to fall into the latter category. All the staff with whom I have dealt have exhibited a high level of competence and concern. And it gives me a great deal of comfort knowing those people are caring for my dad. In short, the Sheridan is a top of the line establishment in all areas.

I have never worked with such a caring group of individuals. From the concierge, to the dining staff, everyone is there because they truly care for the residents. All of the staff are willing to bend over backwards, even if it means caring for your loved one while their loved ones have to wait for them to come home. Working in the senior living industry takes a special kind of person that will put others before them. I see this type of spirit everyday I go to work at The Sheridan.

A home away from home for your loved ones. They are treated with respect and dignity. Covid protocol is unwavering and in the best interest of the residents, phenomenal food menu, and genuinely treated like a part of the family.

My Mom is a resident in Memory Care. It is a heart wrenching decision to make, but knowing that she is safe and extremely well cared for, gives a sense of calm in what could be a storm. The Director, Nathalie, set realistic expectations and navigated with us to make the decision with expertise, care and compassion. These same characteristics are demonstrated by all the staff. One nurse in particular on the evening shift, Jeffrey, is absolutely amazing! He brings competence, expertise, compassion and an appropriate sense of humor to every resident. If you are struggling with the decision for your loved one, I totally get it...I love my Mom and she truly is in the best environment for her needs. I visit daily at all different times of the day and ALL of the staff, without exception, are the best. Hopefully my experience and comments might help if you and your loved one are at a cross road in making a decision.

My mom has been at the Sheridan of Park Ridge for 5 weeks. It is a beautiful new facility with all the conveniences at her finger tips. The staff is very attentive to her every need and the care staff is very carrying. The dining room has a great atmosphere for dining and again all of their staff are great. They know moms name and about her special dietary needs and makes sure she doesnt order anything she shouldnt. She has made several new friends and is more active then ever. She is really enjoying being here.
