But we knew it was the best for her due to her cognitive issues. She gets the best care, with kindness and gentle reminders. After much prayer and discussion, my sisters and I decided to move our oldest sister to Summit Place. I was encouraged by the feedback I received, and on April 20, 2026, I was able to visit the facility. After talking with Rebekah and Rashida, I was convinced that we made the right decision. They (and the staff members we met) were warm and welcoming, and exuded sincere concern with the wellbeing of all the residents. My family and I are grateful for the assistance they provide, and I highly recommend this facility for any family in need of these services.

After researching and visiting several Gastonia assisted living homes, we found that Summit Place at Kings Mountain was THE best choice. The location is perfect as Summit Place sits in the country and is very peaceful. All of the staff were very professional and showed a caring, family type of love for my mom. First, breathe. If you have found yourself here at the reviews, know that other families have been in your shoes. That most difficult place of trying to make the right decision for your family member and wondering if you are doing it correctly. Summit Place is the right decision. Ty will walk you through the process and help you feel at ease. All of the staff takes time with you as a family. As we age it’s a blessing to wake up each and everyday ready for a new day. For our mom who is 93 these blessing just keep coming. She has been fortunate to live in the house that she and our dad built for the past 53 years. But we worried about her, if she needed something or whether she may lose power in a storm. We wanted her to have independence but loving care at the same time. Summit Place filled that spot in our hearts. Although she has only been a resident for two weeks she has made herself feel like she’s home. The staff have welcomed her with open arms. We couldn’t be happier for our mom. It was a big decision but her optimism about making the most of everyday has impressed us and we hope others notice it too. Thank you Summit Place for giving us peace of mind and making her feel loved and cared for.

My mom was so hesitant to move into assisted living, but my brothers and I knew it was time for her to live in a community instead of alone. Summit Place had a room available and after touring and spending a bit of time here, we convinced her to try it. She just loves it here. The staff is so friendly and caring. Rebekah and Alain were very easy to work with as we prepared for and finally made the move. They continue, weeks later, to provide more than we could have hoped for. The food is good, the activities are plentiful and engaging, the staff is supportive and very caring. My mom is happy and thriving , and we are all so pleased with Summit Place. 10/10

Our Mom moved into Summit Place's memory unit 9 months ago and she has received excellent care. The staff is very compassionate, and you are greeted warmly as soon as you walk into the place. Denise put us right at ease from the beginning of the admission process and has been so supportive and readily communicates any concerns or issues that may arise. We are so grateful for the compassion and support we received from the Summit Place staff and residents after our father passed away two months after our Mom's admission. Very caring folks. The place is very clean, and the food is excellent!! Our family has enjoyed several meals there with our Mom. All in all, the community is fortunate to have such a high quality assisted living facility. It's such a relief to know that our Mom is safe and being well cared for.

My dad moved to Summit Place KM 2 months ago. It has been an adjustment for him, and us, but we’re all getting there. When we took dad for an initial visit, before he decided where he wanted to live, he was very surprised at the quality of everything about the community. (He really thought this was just another skilled nursing home before he visited it.) We were prepared to take him to other senior assisted living communities, but after touring Summit Place he immediately decided this was the place for him. He was very impressed and he’s not one to be easily impressed. There are a few folks there that he already knew. I can’t say enough about everything involved with this transition from home life to assisted living. The excellent staff, pleasant atmosphere, quality and taste of foods served, design and cleanliness of the facilities and grounds, and a broad selection of activities. Everyone there, residents and staff, always seem to be happy with a smile on their faces. A very friendly atmosphere. Staff go out of their way to do everything they can to help the residents be successful. Our family feels very secure that dad is in the best secure and safe environment. My Father-in-Law was recently placed at Summit Place of Kings Mountain after it became too difficult to care for him in our home. He had Alzheimer's and needed round the clock care. We struggled with the decision to place him but after meeting with Denise, the nurse, and the memory care staff, we decided this was the best decision for him and for us. From the moment I first contacted Denise, I felt the compassion and willingness to help us in any way possible. The process of admission was smooth and they even set him up with the in house doctor and psychiatrist to ease things for us and provide continuity of care. It was rough dropping him off but again we were reassured that he was in good hands and that we were now able to take on a new role of Son and Daughter-In-Law, not primary caregiver. This was a huge relief for us. The staff made sure to call us with any concerns/decisions, which eased our anxiety. We still felt like we were able to do what is best for him but were able to put our trust in those who were trained and skilled in caring for people with Alzheimer's. Sadly, my Father-in-law only spent approx. 1 week there. before we found out he needed to be put on hospice. They offered to continue his care but supported our decision to bring him home with hospice care until he went to be with The Lord approx. a month and a half later. When he passed, I called Denise to let her know and asked her to let the memory care staff know that we were so grateful for them in our time of need. I feel confident that while he was at Summit Place, he received the best care but not only that, he received love from the staff. When he passed, they sent us a very meaningful card with words of encouragement. We are so grateful for everyone at Summit Place of Kings Mountain whom had a hand in his care and appreciate the care and love that he received while there.

I was with my church and we came up there and the nurse at the front desk greeted us and she was so sweet and polite and got us all signed in. The marketing lady was helpful and it was just a wonderful atmosphere, and the group that I was with was very excited and it just made it so much better because the first faces that you see are the first impression of places, and they really hit it off great!! The First things you notice is that everyone is smiling and that is smells good. Summit Place Kings Mountain is the most welcoming place to be. They go above and beyond when it comes to quality of care. The Food is top notch with a 100.0 Sanitation Rating. You wont find many dining establishments with that high of a rating. Overall this place is wonderful and I could not be happier with the quality of this facility.

Summit Place has been a great place for my mother. I have been very pleased with the loving care she has received. The staff are always nice, smiling, and willing to do what ever to make mother and myself comfortable. The following qualities are the reason I have rated this facility 5 stars; the majority of the employees have been there for a long time, cleanliness of the facility (no odor), good food, caring staff, attentiveness to call bell, and multiple activities offered.
