Wish we had more time but the problem with Covid in memory care cut the tour short. Right now i amlooking for quality one bedroom assisted living with access to memory care in the near future.

Tina was beyond gracious with providing tour of the beautiful facilities and explaining the various room plans and additional amenities. I hope my mother becomes a resident soon. “

After years of deliberation, I had to move my 85 year old father to an assisted living facility near me because I felt it was no longer in his best interest to live alone. His dementia made it so that he could no longer drive, he was losing weight, couldn't manage his finances or medicines, and the household responsibilities got away from him. I toured Arbor Terrace twice and was warmly welcomed each time. I could tell immediately the staff was tenured, experienced, and caring. I was impressed with the staff to resident ratio particularly in the memory care unit - my dad will need that eventually. The place had a real community feel to it, and I could picture my dad there as well as my family spending time there. I even spoke to a couple of residents on my visits who told me what a wonderful place it was and how happy they were to live there. Five days into his stay there, my dad had a minor medical emergency. I was notified quickly and everything was done to make a smooth transition to the hospital and back to the facility a few days later. Needless to say that all added to the stress and the difficulty of the transition to a new living situation for my dad, but everyone at Arbor Terrace went above and beyond to help him acclimate. The staff even comforted me and talked me through it when the stress of it all became too much and I showed up in tears wondering if I'd done the right thing. Well I did the right thing. The people at Arbor Terrace are kind and compassionate professionals. They've been there, they've seen it all. They know what families are going through. Even with his memory deficits, my dad comments all the time about how nice they all are there. They all know his name, his personality, his habits, his likes and dislikes. They know me and call me by name. It is a very friendly and welcoming environment. My dad has made friends (though he may not remember their names), he has gained at least 20 lbs which he needed because he had become quite thin forgetting to eat, and I feel good knowing he is no longer alone and isolated as before. I couldn't have wished for a better outcome. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Arbor Terrace to anyone in my position looking for a loving, caring community for their parent.

The Move-in Coordinator Joshua was very helpful in explaining things. Gave a very nice and informative tour. I happened to be there right before lunch and left after lunch had started. The dining room was essentially full and it looked like a bunch of happy and energetic folks eating lunch. The rooms were very nice and the activities areas looked in very good condition and several of them had people interacting within them. I checked Arbor Terrace out because a friend's mother had stayed there for several years about 5+ years ago and he spoke very highly of them.

We had to change facilities for my wife in the past year and are very happy with our choice of Arbor Terrace. I cannot say enough about the excellent care she receives. I also would like to compliment everyone for the welcome I receive from the desk at the entrance until the end of my visit.

Finding our way to Arbor Terrace of Knoxville was the best thing that we could have done for my mother. After looking at many facilities in the area we chose Arbor Terrace for many reasons. But most of all it was the staff that made us feel right at home. Their warmth and generosity made the decision very easy. The care that is shown to my mother every minute is comforting to our family. I would recommend Arbor Terrace to any family looking for care of a loved one. The staff are our true angels!!

Recently we’ve had to place both of our parents at Arbor Terrace. My dad on the memory care floor and my mom on the assisted living floor. The accommodations are beautiful, but let me rave about the staff. I have not had one staff member, whether it be housekeeping, RA’s, nurses, executive staff, food services or ANYONE there be anything but kind and helpful to me and my parents. The care they give and the thoughtfulness they have for the families going through this transition is above and beyond. My dad was placed first as my mom was recovering from a broken hip. My parents have been married 63 years and were away from each other for a month. The evening of my moms arrival the staff (Samantha and others I don’t know the names) set up an intimate dinner just for the two of them. That’s just one example of the amazing things that they do! We have only been with them for 3 weeks and the Arbor Terrace staff are already family to us. Save yourself some time looking for other places like we did because you won’t find a place better than this one.

We came for a visit and we're so impressed. Arbor Terrace reminded us more of a comfortable hotel than an assisted living facility. Very welcoming.

While they have MANY good people working there, who really care about the residents, we were "lied to" and had to move my Mom. I'm sharing this in hopes of preventing others from having to go through the same pains and hassle. Their food and food service was very substandard, which was a BIG misrepresentation, during their sales pitch. Much of it canned and always served on styrofoam with plastic utensils. Their sign in/accountability system is cumbersome and inefficient. And most importantly, they couldn't seem to pay close enough attention in administering my Mom's many medicines and because of that, the meds most likely were frequently not working properly. Don't make the same mistake we made. Look around. There ARE better places in the area.

I was on a service call there and I got to see a woman employee interacting with a resident who was obviously suffering from dementia, she was so sweet and awesome, the employee got her (the resident) up on her feet to go for a walk with her. It took some coaxing but she finally got up to get some exercise.... it really warmed my heart to see that the residents are treated with such dignity and respect

My mother has been a resident at Arborterrace for 4.5 years now, in memory care. From the top on down, the staff treats your family member as if they are one of their own. I walked in looking for a place for mom and was greeted by friendly faces and the smell of breakfast cooking. The director of the memory care unit, Cindy, has gone way beyond the scope of her responsibilities to take care of mom. I could go on with other names and examples. Definitely the best place for your loved ones to be taken care of.

My mother is staying in memory care at Arbor Terrace. The staff did a fanastic job when she was first admitted; helping me and spending a great deal of time answering my questions; especially Cindy Bayless. My mother is receiving great care; including meals, medical monitoring, daily activities in which she can participate, and a community of residents who keep her company. She is enjoying her stay and getting comfortable. I could not envision a better outcome for her, which is my small way of giving back to her for all she has done for me. Thank you Arbor Terrace!

When we toured Arbor Terrace, we were very candid with the representative, explaining the difficulties my mother-in-law presented at her previous ALF. The AT representative wasnt put off and replied, ‘Its all about how you approach the person. From day one, the staff became family to Sybil (and to us). I have never seen such a caring, loving, and compassionate staff. It was amazing how this stubborn woman became more compliant with the AT staff and was receptive to their requests. Sadly, she only lived there for two months when she passed away. We are in awe of this special assisted living facility (and I have been exposed to quite a few!) You are all so special in our hearts!

My family found ourselves in a situation were we had to act quickly to find mom a new home. We were referred to Arbor Terrace of Knoxville almost 8 years ago, and have been blessed to be part of this caring, professional and loving facility (home). We have experienced the realm of their care and consideration for our mother. This has ranged from helping her feel more than welcomed when she first arrived, to dealing with emergency health situations to developing friendships, not only with other residences, but more importantly, the staff and management. They made a difficult decision easier. Thank you Arbor Terrace for all you do.

Arbor Terrace of Knoxville is the very best assisted living and memory care facility in Knoxville! I have visited 10+ places in the area and none of them compare to what this community offers. This community is well established with an amazing staff of people who have been there for years---some even since the doors were opened. The care and genuine concern that the staff has for their residents makes you feel like you are family. Everything has been such a wonderful experience at Arbor--you wont regret moving your loved one here--trust me!

A couple of years ago, our family transitioned Grammy and Dah to Arbor Terrace due to Dahs increasing issues related to Alzheimers. The Arbor Terrace community welcomed them, surrounding them with care and love and kindness. The Memory Care on the 3rd floor was a perfect fit for them. They could be together in the evening in their lovely room and then he would enjoy the benefits of the activities on the 3rd floor during the day. In the meantime, Grammy was allowed to thrive without too much worry. She continues to live and thrive at Arbor after Dahs passing. Our family is so grateful for the excellent care and support that the Arbor community provides. I would highly recommend a visit to Arbor Terrace if you have a loved one that needs a caring place to live with appropriate support!

There is not enough space here for me to share all the many ways that Arbor has blessed my mom and me over the last year. The quality of care provided at all levels is phenomenal and their ability to make individuals feel like family is unbelievable. Staff members make sure the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of each resident is met through individual care plans and through multi-faceted group activities. Each employee uses his or her skill sets and talents to provide a safe, loving and caring home for the seniors. I am so very thankful for their dedication to excellence!

My sister has thrived as a resident of Arbor Terrace. Her medicines are managed extremely well. I receive calls any time there is a concern, and it is quickly resolved, thanks to their excellent communication. MY life is even better because my stress level has improved knowing her health cares are managed so well. This frees me to be there for my sister, rather than trying to manage her care. They love her; it is evident. She loves them too. I highly recommend them!

My mother has resided at Arbor Terrace for more than 5 years, ever since the sudden passing of my father. I was so pleased when I first saw Arbor Terrace. I dont know what I was expecting of an assisted living residence, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it is. But what really impressed me was the staff and how wonderful and helpful they were. And they were not that way just because we were new there, but they have remained wonderful and helpful for all the years my mother has been there. I very highly recommend Arbor Terrace for anyone who needs an assisted living residence.

My mother moved to Arbor Terrace almost 2 years ago after the sudden death of my father. They had lived in Texas for 30 years, where my father was the primary caregiver for my mother who is in the middle stages of Alzheimers. It was an extremely difficult time for my mother and I never thought I would have the peace or comfort of anyone else caring for my mother. The staff at Arbor Terrace helped make the transition a positive one- it was by far an answer to our prayers. The staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter. Every time I leave I am so grateful for the expert care and comforted with the decision to join the Arbor family. Equally important my mother is happy. The staff interacts with all the residents like one big family. It is a very happy, uplifting facility. Activities are well planned and residents are encouraged by staff and each other to participate. The food is excellent and the facility is very well maintained. But the difference truly is the staff. My mothers doctor also comments on the high level of care at Arbor Terrace. Arbor Terrace is committed to a higher standard of quality and care. Jeni White

In September of 2011 we were in an emergency situation and had to move my 90 year old father to assisted living. My sister and I had one day to make a decision so after doing some online research we started calling to make appointments and only one facility, Arbor Terrace, had someone that could speak with us. We were welcomed over the phone, received answers to all of our questions, found most of our fears tamed, and were told they could meet with us whenever we could get there, all the easy things we needed to hear. The other facilities we called either never returned our calls or were very busy. My sister and I decided we were wasting daylight by phone and it was time to drive. Arbor Terrace was the first place we visited since we already felt welcome. We were greeted with open arms and the atmosphere was wonderful. They had one room open, we left a deposit. Theirs was the mark other facilities had to meet or rise above. At the next facility we were greeted warmly by the woman at the front desk. The sales woman was with someone and we could see her in her office doorway not 12 feet away. Once she finished with the person she was talking with the receptionist walked over to her and told her we were there to view the facility. Although this sales person was standing not more than 12 feet away she sent the girl back with a message that she had phone calls to return and would be with us in a few minutes. We said fine, walked around and looked, then left. Why couldnt she have come over herself, welcomed us, and told us in person she would be with us? Why send a messenger when she was in the same room with us? With that first impression, what would their level of care be?
