Making the decision to move mom to assisted living was a long time coming and difficult decision to make. The decision was made for us when she fell and had a concussion. We were referred to Legacy Navigation and they found Copper Springs for us. I used to work in hospice, massaging patients and visited many assisted living facilities throughout the Treasure Valley and in Ontario, Oregon. Sad to say, there are some out there I would not care to see again. The facility would be dirty, worn or poorly circulated. Staff would walk around with boredom, frustration or anger on their faces. Residents looked bored and unhappy. My brother and his wife visited Copper Springs before mom and me. After their tour with Mike, the Owner & Director, they called me so excited and pleased and couldn’t wait for mom to see the place, too. Mom loved it and couldn’t believe it was for real “ not for her. This is a woman who doesn’t throw the word love’ around very much and she kept telling us how much she loves it and wanted to live there. In the next few weeks, I worked with Mike and his staff to get the paperwork done, select mom’s room and get her moved in. From the very first day, as we were moving in residents came and introduced themselves and invited mom to their tables for lunch and dinner. She’s been living there for 3 weeks now and each time I ask her, she still says she loves it. We watch her participate in almost all the activities (her being an introvert “ this was so surprising) and take the facility van to stores. When spring returns, she’s looking forward to some of the fun local excursions. We are so happy we chose Copper Springs to be mom’s new home. Every time I visit, she looks so happy and has so much to share “ her sense of humor is back, too. I have not seen her this happy in many years. I’m getting to know the staff, too and get such a great vibe from them. Thanks to Stephanie, Wes, Brandon, TJ, Hannah and Brooke!

My mom never wanted to be put in a facility. Sadly she reached the point that it was no longer safe for her to be on her own. Mike and his team went WAY beyond the status quo to make her comfortable. I cannot express enough how kind and genuine Mike and his staff are. My mom was only there about 6 weeks before passing, but in that time she came to love Tristan and the team. She was an extreme introvert and shied away from group settings. She never felt pressured, judged, or unsafe; and in a short period of time, the staff had brought her out of her shell. The entire staff treated her with so much dignity and respect. This is not a business to them, this is a passion, loving on their residents and providing as much comfort as possible. I will forever be grateful for the time my mom had at Copper Springs, and to the team that saw her safely to the other side with such dignity.

Earlier this year we had to put my mother in an assisted living facility after a fall that broke her hip. She did not want to live with my brother, so we went on a search for a home. We found Copper Springs. She was very nervous at first since there is so much negative connotations. B associated with it, but after she settled in she grew to like it. There are activities, trips, of course bingo, as hair salon, and a "store" the residents can spend their Copper bucks they won for the activities and bingo. The food is actually pretty good. She did not want to be some place where they would tell her she had to do this or that or can't do this or that. They have always treated her with respect really seem to like what they do. They really seem to care about the residents. She always tells me how nice they are and she has everything she could want. Her biggest complaint is they give too much food and she has to give most of it back to toss. She hates wasting food. Overall, I am very impressed with the care they give to all the residents.

This place seemed like a good place for my mom at first (like the first 18 months or so) but the last few months she was there, things went downhill fast. She no longer felt safe in her own room due to a resident bully who would go out of his way to harass her whenever she left her room. Don't count on your family member being able to get a ride (as advertised in company brochures) to doctor's appointments, no matter how much notice you give, they will never have room in the van that is perpetually parked out front. Not sure if it was because she was a private pay resident but I always had to take time off work to take her or she had to pay for separate transportation. And if you need to talk to someone at the front desk, forget about it. They either "don't know" or they flat out lie to you. Mariah called me a few days after I moved my mom out to ask where to forward her mail. I told her my home. When it didn't arrive a week later, I had to drive over to ask where it was (because they don't answer the phones). I was told it was sent out that day. It's been another week and still no mail. I had to run in to grab some medication that they forgot to give me the night before. I asked Mariah if she happened to have any mail for my mom. She then proceeded to lie to my face and told me that she talked to my mom the day before and she told her that she had gotten it all. ABSOLUTE LIES! My mom, in my dining room, talked to "Ella" the day before and told her she had not received ANY of her mail.

My Mom has been there since the start of this shelter in place restriction and I don’t know what I would have done without this caring staff at Copper Springs. As hard as it has been to not be able to see her they have kept us in touch and updated through every single step of the move in and great Facebook photos to date. I am very grateful and highly recommend this facility. They have my Mom dancing and singing in this very difficult and confusing time in her life and I will forever be thankful for their love and kindness.

I am the Client Care Manager of a local home care company and had a family contact me because they were deciding if it would be best to have care in the home or find placement for their Mom. After talking to the daughter it became clear finding a facility would be in their best interest. Copper Springs checked all the boxes for what they said they were looking for and I suggested they go take a tour a few weeks later I received a call saying they wanted to thank me for referring them to Copper Springs their Mother had done very well and really blossomed while doing their activities and interacting with other residents. My family recently purchased one of the homes in the new subdivision immediately behind Copper Springs. We share a fence with Copper Springs. After two days in the home I thought I had we had made a bad decision. We kept smelling cigarette smoke several times each day coming over the fence. This is when I saw that the designated smoking area for employees and residents was right next to us. My family has 2 kids under age 3 and we have asthma. My heart sank and I thought this was going to be a huge point of contention. I contacted Copper Springs and asked to speak with a manager. They allowed me to speak directly to the managing director. I told her my concerns and asked if we could have a conversation about it. To my surprise she was completely understanding and so nice about it! I was expecting someone to tell me to take a hike. Within the week they had found a different designated smoking area for the employees and residents. I felt like a huge burden had been taken off of my shoulders. if the managing director and the staff at Copper Springs are willing to do something like that for me and my family who are their neighbors, for our health, I am sure that they do their absolute best to take care of the people who live with them by taking care of their health and their families. Thank you Copper Springs!

This time of year is the time to give Thanks and appreciation to the people in my life that are helping and supporting my loved one . My Dad came to live in Idaho one year ago after an illness that left him unable to live alone in his home and care for himself . The experience at Copper springs has been wonderful . Everyone from the nursing staff , the administrators ....etc... Everyone has exceeded my expectations in making him feel at home and helping him with his recovery .
