My grandmother has been living here for a little over a year and she absolutely loves it. Every visit I have with her, she goes on and on about how she loves all the staff, her apartment, meals, view and activities. Every time I visit her, the staff is so kind and always smiles on their faces. I’ve never heard a complaint from my grandmother about Ivy Park. This place has a very homey-like atmosphere. I always look forward to visiting this beautiful community and my grandmother.

My spouse whom I will call Beth has been a resident for half a year following a debilitating stroke; she lives in Memory Care at Ivy Park/Seal Beach. Two days ago when I arrived, I found her on the floor in some distress and unable to help herself. Caregivers responded quickly to begin helping, but real action arrived when Tami Ojwang, Executive Director, came on the seen. Without hesitation or negative word, she and Irene, Director of Memory Care, calmly collected Beth by way of the Hoyer Lift and transferred her to a waiting, warm shower while I laid out fresh clothing. In a matter of minutes, order was restored, Beth's equanimity had returned, and she and I headed out to a nice dinner in the main dining room. I remain grateful to and proud of the professional skills that Tami and Irene exhibited: they had confidently taken the matter in hand, restored Beth's dignity, and made me feel as if the world was again turning on its axis.

I am so grateful to have found such a beautiful and caring home for my mom. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the warmth and serenity of the community. The entire facility is not only pristine but also smells wonderfully fresh, which immediately made us feel at ease. The atmosphere here is so welcoming, with beautiful gardens and spacious common areas that create a sense of calm and comfort. The true standout, however, has been the care provided by Sandra McKeon, the Resident Care Director. Sandra’s dedication to the residents is truly exceptional. She goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels seen, valued, and well taken care of. Her professionalism and compassion are evident in every interaction, and I’ve seen firsthand how she takes the time to know each resident personally. She is always available for questions or concerns, and it’s clear that she truly cares about the well-being of my mom and the other residents. I couldn’t ask for a better place for my mom to live. It’s a community that genuinely feels like home, and I am so grateful for Sandra and the entire team who make it such a wonderful environment.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Ivy Park Seal Beach from the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The Directors, Care Coordinator and Caregivers at Ivy Park Seal Beach truly stand out. They are not only professional but also genuinely caring. During my visit, I observed several interactions between staff and residents, and it was heartwarming to see the kindness and patience they exhibited. The caregivers are attentive and take the time to engage with the residents, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion. While no place is perfect, I believe Ivy Park Seal Beach does an excellent job of providing a supportive and nurturing environment for its residents. The combination of compassionate staff, comfortable facilities, and engaging activities makes it a great choice for anyone seeking assisted living options. If you’re considering assisted living for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend Ivy Park Seal Beach. It’s a place where residents can thrive and feel at home.

Just me

My 101-year-old mother has been here for almost two years, and I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful staff. Not only do they all greet her by name when they pass by, but they also know her as an individual. They know her preferred schedule, her likes and dislikes, and the other little things that are part of her personality. I like to take a look at the lunch and dinner menus when I visit, and I’m always impressed that there is little to no repetition in the daily specials. They have different activities throughout the day, and the residents can socialize as much or as little as they want. Of course, the most important thing is knowing that she is safe, and in the good hands of a caring and professional staff.

Nothing’s perfect, but you pretty much can’t beat the attentiveness & care. Twice in 6 months they essentially saved Mom’s life, due to observant staff noticing something wasn’t right and acting on it. The first time, Mom was simply checking out with the concierge. The second time, she was heading to lunch. And upon return from both hospital stays, everything she needed. So grateful!

I dropped by Ivy Park at Seal Beach without an appointment and had the good fortune to meet with Tami Ojwang, the Executive Director on 2/12/2025. Unlike other places I had visited, the ED wanted to know about my dear friend – her physical and mental health, interests and hobbies, functioning level, current situation, etc. before discussing the many services of the assisted living and memory care facilities. After a detailed conversation, we went on an extensive tour, including the dining rooms, living quarters, yard area, and multiple activity rooms. , We were introduced to several staff members who also generously answered our questions and concerns. Everyone was friendly and gracious. Perhaps most important of all, the residents were smiling and actively engaged and told us how pleased they were with their care. We were so excited to have discovered Ivy Park!

I've visited Ivy Park Seal Beach quite a few times over the last 3 months, and I've been impressed by the staff and the facility. I was helping someone choose a retirement community, and here I saw all the signs of caring and community that one hopes for, from the exective director to the concierges to the chit-chat between residents and staff. Good neighborhood too, with some great restaurants within a mile or so. Easy to recommend.

The is the best place for my parents! I did a ton of research and viewed a dozen other places. This is the nicest and the best care. This is the only assisted living real nursing care. This was important for my parents who needed extra help with medications. Great staff and great culture.

Ivy Park of Seal Beach is a wonderful place for my parents to call home. I did so much reasearch trying to find the right place and this fit everything we were looking for. It has been almost a year since my parents moved into an independent beautiful apartment. The food is delicous with so many choices. The activities and live entertainment is wonderful, like living at a first class resort. The sight-seeing and shopping trips are a must for my mother. My family always feels very welcome to visit and walk around the grounds, beautiful pathways and relaxing porches. My parents started to need more care so it was an easy transition to a different living area. My mother is now in the memory care living and I cannot say enough amazing compliments about this program. They even offer a support group for family members. But the most important thing about Ivy Park is the staff. The caregivers are so well-trained, professional, and the kindest people you can ever meet.

I visited a friend that lives in this community last week and I was pleasantly surprised of the beautiful grounds and welcoming staff. There was activities going on that had residents participating in dance, kadaoke and just visiting with fun, a good time and laughter. I am glad my friend chose Sunrise of Seal Beach as she is enjoying her active senior living in style.

We are very fortunate that our mother can afford to live at Sunrise. The facility is beautifully maintained and decorated. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. The food is good with a varied menu. Fun and stimulating activities for residents. Good communication regarding health concerns. I know my mother is well cared for and is very happy living at Sunrise Seal Beach. And what more can a person want for their parent!

Beautiful home and amenities, good location but very expensive, I don't know how many seniors can afford that monthly fee. To bad the government does not help support seniors like in the Netherlands or Denmark Sweden and other countries where they only take a portion of your Social Security the rest is covered by the government. But if you are willing to pay the rate there it is a very clean and well layed out set up.

Sunrise was not a good fit for my mom who had moderate memory impairment. She required more care that they were set up to provide for her. However, the staff was nice and the facilities were remodeled and clean.

The home is a nice place to live. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do not make repairs in a timely manner. I can only get hot water. I have requested for repairs over 2 weeks ago. The repairs are still not made. I cannot get a shower. This is dangerous. Another resident told me she had burned herself trying to was her hair in the kitchen sink.

My grandmother complained of the 3rd floor dining room noise coming into her apartment everyday since the 1st day she moved in. The admin promised to put pads on the chairs upstairs but it never happened. They promised to find her another room, it never happened. I was in there and heard the loud noises too, time and time again. Other residence told us that others have moved from that apartment because of the same reason. The admin alway made us go in circles and said "we are working on it," for an entire year. I also had issues with the billing department bumping my grandmothers care cost level way up with out notifying me (illegal) and it went through auto-pay. When I called to inquire they said she had needed help showering and put a shower assistance cost for 7 days a week. I investigated and found out my grandmother had NEVER had shower assistance and they backtracked and gave us a short verbal apology, and credited the account for the outrages charges that went through. Also I set up auto-pay when I first moved her in and after 6 months they didn't bill for 3 months then billed all at once and it was a 22k bill. Seriously a lack of professionalism. The biggest issue though isn't all of that. It is this. The staff here are way overworked. Although some are very sweet and dear to me and my grandmother, they are running around like crazy and have to be a million places at once. Because of short staffing and residence needing help with dressing and showers in the morning the residence who pulled the red cord were not helped. Multiple times my grandmother had to wait 45 min to 1 hour after she pulled the cord to receive help up off the toilet or pain meds. Her neighbor once yelled for one hour after she had fallen and my grandmother got to her and went to find someone to help. This is not safe, and not what you are paying 7k a month for. This is not because the staff is not doing their jobs, it is because admin does not hire enough staff. When someone calls out there is no one to fill in and others end up doing twice the work. I am disappointed at how they treat their employees. Working with the elderly and personal care is a selfless job that takes a special person and I am not convinced that the facility values their employees. During dining time food was served cold and sometimes residence would have to wait over an hour to receive their meal while they wait at the tables. Clearly this facility needs to hire much more staff and stop overworking and burning out the staff they do have. I felt bad for the overworked employees. I would not recommend this assisted living, but compared to the area it is better then other assisted livings close by.
