My wife, Beth, and I moved my Mother-in-law to Legend at Mingo Road in January 2026. She has memory and cognitive issues which make communication with her very difficult. The staff at Legend are so patient and kind to her. The transition to this level of care for my MIL has been difficult for my wife and me as well as my MIL but the staff helped with her transition so that it was extremely smooth and positive. Because my MIL’s care has been so good, it has calmed us knowing that she is living in a great environment. The inside of the building is beautifully decorated and has absolutely no institutional feel to it at all. The environment is friendly and their focus is on community building. My MIL would stay in her apartment 24 hours a day if she was left alone but the staff has persistently and gently nudged her to leave her apartment and helped her to participate in some of the many activities Legend has to offer. We have no second thoughts about choosing Legend At Mingo Road for my MIL’s new home. We are in the building quite often to check on Mom and we are always greeted with friendly, smiling faces. The people are quite accommodating, welcoming and are a pleasure to talk to. We highly recommend Legend At Mingo Road.

We recently moved my mom to Legend at Mingo Rd. The whole experience has been wonderful. I knew immediately after meeting with Melody that I wanted my mom to live here! She's only been here two days but I can honestly say I haven't met anyone there that isn't friendly and helpful. The food in the dining room is excellent and there are several choices of meals daily. There are a lot of activities for the residents and the entire facility is clean and spotless. So happy with our decision to move mom here!!

We moved my grandfather into his apartment in December 2025, and the experience has been wonderful. The layout of the community is thoughtfully designed, and the two courtyards are a great feature. They give residents a nice, peaceful outdoor space to enjoy. The dining room is also excellent. The food is consistently good, and the menu offers a wide variety, which makes it easy and enjoyable when family comes to visit and dine together. Melody in sales was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She made sure we found the right apartment for my grandfather and had everything ready right on time for move-in, which made a stressful transition much smoother. Schalloca, the Healthcare Director, is truly phenomenal. We had worked with her at another facility, and she is one of the main reasons we chose to come to Legends. She genuinely cares about both the residents and their families, and that compassion shows in everything she does. The rest of the staff has also been amazing; consistently caring, attentive, and accommodating. Even though my grandfather has only been here for a few months, they have already become like family to us. Their kindness, gentleness, and dedication go above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. We are so grateful to have found this community.

My Daddy is 90 years old & has lived at Legends on Mingo since February 2024. In our search, the main draw was due to them happily making accommodations for him concerning his dialysis treatments that are 3 times a week. As his daughter along with my 2 brothers, we rely totally on them for his care, seeing to his medications & treating him respectfully. They have been wonderful. The staff is very friendly & eager to help in his requests. I can honestly say that since his moving here, the constant worry has been lifted off our shoulders. My Daddy is happy which makes me happy. Great place!

I found Sarah to be responsive, professional, and caring. She returned my phone call quickly, arranged a tour of the facility the same week of my call, and then made a home visit with the nurse to assess my mothers level of care. The whole process was seamless. My interactions with all the staff were positive and I was really impressed that staff came up to me and introduced themselves and gave me a little bit of background information about themselves. Legend At Mingo really became like a family to us, when we had to move my in-laws in to assisted living when she fell & broke her hip. She lived out her final days there and my father-in-law lived another year there, between AL and memory care, where he enjoyed the activities with other residents and outings with family. My Dad moved into Legend at Mingo Road a little over four months ago. We could not be more pleased! Every professional, including the Directors, Nursing staff, Food Service, Maintenance, etc., takes their role as caregiver very seriously. The staff takes the time to build relationships of respect and trust with each of the residents. They intentionally create opportunities to get to know each individual as a person with unique and extensive experiences. My father owned a restaurant for forty years. This week, the Executive Chef invited him to participate in a cooking demonstration using one of my Dad’s recipes and then incorporating it into the lunch menu the following day. This gesture is just one example of how Legend at Mingo Road recognizes the residents as capable, purposeful community members. We are able to feel confident that at Legend at Mingo Road my Dad is not only cared for, but also cared about. We are so very thankful to have found this living center!

What can you say about strangers who very quickly become extended family. As I get more and more tired, names might get fuzzy, but precious faces and kind caring deeds never. These dear folks have taken care of our mother with soft touches, caring words, and heartfelt deeds. They have shared smiles, hugs, and tears. I can only hope when someone they love with all their hearts goes to meet Jesus, they will have someone to care for them like they've done for us. There were days when we pulled that cord over and over and we were always met with an eagerness to help. My thoughts are all jumbled, but I want to thank each one individually, but the names and correct spelling are blurring. The staff at Legend are amazing, professional, patient, kind, caring, tender, sweet, and display Jesus in their actions. They love like He loves. If you are looking for a place for your mother, look no further than Legend at Mingo. Our family is so thankful her last days were spent in this lovely facility. Meals were healthy and delicious, and we loved how the residents gathered in the dining and living room to enjoy each other's company. Most important was the quality of loving care she received from the staff. They were quick to notify me if need arose, which I so appreciated. When mom was in the hospital or rehab, several nurses and staff members would call to check on her progress. When hospice was needed, they did everything to make this time easier for mom and all of us. Providing constant and loving care until her last day. As the director said, " this is her home, this is where she should be, surrounded by her family and her own things, not in a hospital room". That meant so much to me and all the family. I thank God I found Legend for my mom's last year of life.

I moved into Legend at Mingo road about three weeks ago and have found the staff to top notch and very friendly and caring for you. They have a wonderful Dining center and the food is very good and they give you a number of options to chose from. They offer lots of activates through out the day so there is lots to do to stay active. The staff here is also top notch, when you are in need of some help all rooms have a pull line to call for an aid to help you with any problem you might have. I am in a power wheelchair and I don't have any troubles getting a round this place. So if your considering Assisted Living for you or a loved one check this place and see for yourself.

As a state employee I am familiar with protocols and expectations and let me say I was really impressed with this facility. These folks have an eye for detail and utmost cleanliness. I was not disappointed. The staff were respectful and took the time to answer questions and it was obvious these staffers were focused on the health and welfare of their patients- I might just say their guests, as that is how they were being treated. Kudos to the administrative staff, especially Ms Dyson, for setting an example of what assisted care should be.

My mom was able to live in her own home until she was 95. She is a very independent and strong woman. I always thought that having to take her out of her home would just be the worst situation possible. Luckily I knew about Legend Assisted Living through a doctor that I had worked for. She had her mother there and was very happy with the care she received and the facility. When my mom could no longer live in her own home I immediately called Legend on Mingo. From the first phone call I felt this was a great place. On my mom's very first day she was happy and very relieved. She has a beautiful apartment with her own patio and was able to take her cat. All the staff is friendly and caring. They really spoil the residents, as it should be. The hair salon is fantastic too. My favorite thing about this place is that it's small, everyone knows everyone and they all treat everyone like family. The facility is immaculate. My mom has transitioned better than I could have ever dreamed and that's because of the Legend team. They all helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. Needless to say my mom is very happy and so are we.

Only 2 aides in the building one weekends. I absolutely love the residents, they are so sweet and amazing. When both my team member and i try to communicate to Nursing staff that we genuinely need an extra person to meet everyone's needs in a timely matter. Nothing has happen. When i state that it's okay for us all to answer call lights on night shift instead of her sleeping inside the med room. She unsurprisingly was unprofessional the way she spoke to me. Wow...team work makes the dream work.

As another reviewer stated, nobody actually *wants* to need this place but it's almost assured that many of us will find ourselves seeking their service eventually. No one will ever be able to care for your family member the way you will, that is just a fact. When we found ourselves in the position of looking for Mom's new home, we found Legend to be on our short list and ultimately, the place we chose. She was always taken care of and loved. None of us ever had any qualms or uneasiness about any of the circumstances we encountered during our visits and stays. Mom broke free from the chains of dementia almost one year ago. From the first day to the last, Legend was caring and compassionate. I thank them for being there when we could not.

No one every really wants to go into a memory care center, it's a hard decision as we all feel responsible to take care of our loved one. Having been through it, I can attest that it's absolutely the right decision to make as we all need professional help when dealing w/dementia. Mom can't be a 24/7 caregiver (babysitter often). After looking at several places, Mom picked the Legends. Our experience proves she was right. People in this industry can't fake their way through a job - you either love it or should do something else. The staff at the Legends truly loves their patients (guest) and became attached to them. In addition, the administrators ( Lisa & Markita) set the proper tone to make sure. things are done correct and/or to address concerns quickly. As I said, it's not something one wants to do, but when the decision is made the Legends was the right choice for us. Love you guys and pray for your strength as you keep up this important work.
