We toured many different assisted living homes before deciding to move my mom to Cappella. In our opinion, it was head and shoulders above the other facilities we visited. We immediately felt welcomed when we arrived. We were greeted by the concierge, a member of the restaurant staff, and a resident. Barbara met with us and gave us information about Cappella and a tour. We were impressed with how all the residents and staff we came across seemed genuinely happy to be there. Barbara chatted with several residents as we toured, and clearly knew them well. The move in process was easy - and we felt that we, especially my mom, had all the support we needed. Her apartment is bright and cheerful. While we were impressed with Cappella as a whole, the true shining light at Cappella is the caregiving staff. They are helpful, compassionate and kind. My mom feels totally comfortable and cared for with these amazing people, which gives us great peace of mind. We highly recommend Cappella.

Our parents are residents at Capella and they couldn’t be happier ™ The staff is very accommodating, friendly and most caring with our parents and they are very attentive to their needs. We would highly recommend this facility and staff to anyone thinking about a care facility for their loved ones.

My Dad just moved in to Capellas. I have to say Barbara, Theresa , all the nurses and the kitchen staff are so kind and caring to my Dad!! He's struggling with losing his independence and it's been hard for him. They are so understanding! I love going there and they know me by name! I told my Dad they make me feel like family!! Thank you for taking good care of the most important person in my life!!

i feel very fortunate to have found Cappella for my father in law. my cousin found Cappella for her mother and soon after her father joined she highly encouraged me to join the support group and through the support group, i found a beautiful group of family members that i had lots in common with. Very soon after, my father in law had an incident at another memory support facility where he was put in a very dangerous situation. Cappella took him right in to their facility. i have never felt so relieved to not have to worry about my father in laws safety.Cappella has so much knowledge about dementia and they are so supportive with their patients. they know his needs and they work with him. i can’t imagine not having Cappella here for support!! Thank you! ™

My wife was found to have Alzheimer’s several years ago and I went to a number of support/educational groups to try to learn what we were in for, how to care for her, myself and our 16 year old daughter still at home. I finally found Cappella's and have really started learning things that I can use!! Cappella’s support group meets monthly and the group has been an invaluable source for new meds, services, community resources etc., and Barbara is a wealth of information. What a great time of camaraderie and cookies!!! Cappella’s also facilitates Knowledge at Noon monthly which includes lunch and a seminar/presentation typically by a local vendor, covering a topic relevant to us Caregivers. We have learned about Medicare, the PACE program, keeping our person safe at home and my personal favorite, the SPECAL Method which has changed my whole perspective as a caregiver! Memory Cafe is another great service Cappella’s provides. This is a dinner once a month for Caregivers and their person to get out and enjoy the companionship of others going through the same things so no need for embarrassment or stress. By the way, the meal is first class too! All of these are provided at no charge as a way to help us deal with the changes with our loved one, and I look forward to these every month. If you want a surprise, ask for a tour of the facility. Cappella’s has different levels of care available in a very modern, bright and airy environment. Since my first visit I was impressed with how clean everything was, how friendly the staff is and how it feels more like a luxury hotel than a care facility. My favorite part?? No noxious smells!!! Thank you Cappella’s!! Thank you Barbara!!

Our experience with Capella has primarily been through the support programs they generously provide to our community. Our current personal journey includes primary care for my Mom, and Mom's life with substantial physical limitation and advancing memory decline/dementia. When we started this part of our journey (and along the way) it was often overwhelming. For nearly three years, Capella has been our special place for support, encouragement, and educational opportunities through monthly support gatherings, social dinners (Memory Cafe), and relevant lunch seminars. Capella, with Barbara Schumacher eloquently leading the charge for these services, has welcomed my Mom and me into a new family of amazing individuals who care about and encourage each other, and enjoy our loved ones together with compassion. Laughter, tears, personal friendships, and educational opportunities have all played key roles in navigating a difficult disease with respect and dignity. It's with genuine gratitude and highest regard for all of the kind individuals make this happen at Capella!

My experience with Capella is rather limited so far. My only involvement has been attending the memory care dinners and the caregiver support group. That said, they have both been supportive and helpful. Barbara has been a great hostess and has done a fantastic job of organizing and carrying out these functions as well as the Knowledge at Noon. These have been very helpful as far as connecting us folks that have the unfortunate situation of becoming caregivers and gleaning information that is very helpful and supportive in this less than ideal situation.

My loved one has lived at Cappella of Grand Junction for 29 months. It is not an easy transition from independence in one's home to assisted living/memory care. The staff at Cappella is kind and loving and have helped us all with the changes. We've been especially impressed with the quality of the facility, the daily activity schedule which ensures that he feels included and part of a community, and the level of care which continues to improve. Aging parents and end-of-life issues are not easy, but we've found so much support at Cappella. It ensures that my father can live his best life, given his situation. It also ensures that we enjoy visiting him, the other residents and the staff. What a welcoming and warm place.

They are amazing and Barbara goes above an beyond!!!!!
January 2024
We met Barbara during Oktoberfest, and she cordially invited us to sample the lunch menu when we came for a tour. This was the 4th Memory Care facility we looked at in the Valley, but it is the most outstanding! It is bright, well-decorated, cheery and clean. Their Waddell's restaurant on site serves such delicious food that we eat there often. We really like that the M/C area is on the ground level, and not in a basement. It is nice to meet the ones who live on the 2nd floor Assisted Living area as well. Everyone is great here, from the staff to the residents. So happy we found you!! Thank you for taking care of DiAnne. She's doing great.

From Teresa at the front desk to Barbara the coordinator, everything was presented very professionally. The place is lovely, clean, bright. I think a bit of green landscaping and trees to give it a park like setting would be a great addition

A wonderful place!

Barbara was WONDERFUL. The facilities were so nice - looked brand new. The staff seemed as though they were actually happy to be at work! Where do you find that anymore? We took our 2nd visit today and put down our deposit to reserve a place for our father.

Joanie has been wonderful. We came in without an appointment and the person at the front desk worked it out for us to hear and see the facility.

Very disappointed, moved my parents in a little over a year ago, lots of promises and really, pretty good reviews,, but things changed, new owners, new management and a new business model. new model is for profit not service. 2 caregivers for 40 residents on their floor. had to move them,, they charged to replace the carpet, like they were partying collage kids, told me I had to haul out the little trash there was at moving or they would charge me to put it in their dumpster. strictly business! barely above the "senior living" facility I moved them from, but twice the cost. I would not advise putting your parents there

I own Caring Transitions of the Grand Valley. We move many of our clients into Cappella of Grand Junction. We highly recommend Cappella of Grand Junction! The staff is caring and easy to work with. The atmosphere they have created for their residents is the best!!! Our clients are all very happy in their new surroundings. We have eaten many meals there - and the food is always very good. I would move my dad there!!!!

Dear Cappella of Grand Junction, I am so grateful to your staff for their kind loving support of my parents. During the end of their lives they were able to be surrounded by people that loved them and allowed them the dignity that I hope will be afforded me at the end of my life. Your staff gives genuine Christ like love to those in their care. Again Thank you for the loving service you provide. Sincerely, Todd H. Ash

My parents have lived in Capella for almost three years. They were an active part of the thriving community and enjoyed participating in the various activities and learning experiences available. The staff demonstrated genuine concern, compassion, respect, and care for each of them as they aged and needed increasing help with their everyday needs. Capella is clean, welcoming, and nicely decorated, with comfortable areas for eating and socializing. Personal concern for residents, and their families, and open communication between residents, family members, and staff, resulted In making decisions that were best for care of our parents. My parents both passed within the last month and we are so thankful for the Capella Community and their efforts to help them, and us, through this tender time.
