Things haven't gone so well. Many problems with the facility- AC not working, issues with the water, laundry delayed, torn up, mixed with other people's clothes, and stained and wrinkled. Seem to be having trouble keeping employees. Not a good time to be going to the Boulevard.

Outstanding Team members - The Staff at the Boulevard are all nice, but I want to take the opportunity to mention three staff members that I have witnessed go above and beyond as it relates to engaging the residents. Tammy at the front desk is incredible in making people feel welcomed and valued. She is pleasant and helpful -- I am so glad she is here and I know others feel the same way. She has helped me to feel better many times just by allowing me to share my thoughts with her. She's a great listener and she cares. I highly value that. Christy, our Resident Services Director!!! Oh my goodness, she is doing such an outstanding job. I have seen other residents tell her the same. We are glad she is here and we appreciate how she listens to learn what interests us, then she does her best to make it happen. She really works hard and we appreciate it. Melissa - as a sales person - is so pleasant. I wanted to share that her interaction with the residents makes such a difference. Since I have been here, the sales team has changed a couple of times and in my experience, I have not seem the sales team smile or engage with the residents. Melissa has changed that. I was pleasantly surprised when she said 'hello' and came and made conversation with us. I have been here 2 years and not since we moved in has a sales person even greeted me when passing in the hallways. Anyway, I wanted to share that it makes a difference and Mom and I think Melissa is great! Thank you for having her here. As a daughter of a parent who needs care -- I like knowing that the staff, regardless of their position, 'sees' my mom and the other residents. We also want to mention how much we appreciate Kelly and all she does. She is supportive, encouraging and engaging. Thanks for the great hires, Kelly! Outstanding team!

The Boulevard takes wonderful care of my mother. They are kind and compassionate. Mary Jo, Chris, Frankie, Sam, Sam and Billie are just a few of the amazing nurses and care partners. I have now lived at The Boulevard for one month. The facility is clean, staff and residents are friendly and helpful. It is very convenient to have a washer and dryer in your apartment. The food is very good. It is nice that one can eat breakfast at any time of the day. I highly recommend The Boulevard.

My parents initially moved in the Boulevard of St Charles independent living and the both loved it. After my mom passed in Nov 2024, my dad moved to a smaller independent living apartment and he absolutely loved the staff and the ability to enjoy three meals a day, it wasn’t my mom’s cooking but it was great for him, in December 2025 my dad took turn for the worst and moved to the assisted living facility at the Boulevard as he went on hospice, a smaller room but by far better than a nursing facility. Assistant Jennifer Miller was absolutely fabulous with my dad, she treated my dad like it was her own father. Amanda the housekeeper was fantastic and a very trustworthy individual. My wife and I plan on moving into this facility when it becomes our time. A special shout out to Tammy at the Front Desk, Kelly the facility Manager, Mitchel the server in the dining room. Rn Mary Jo who helped my dad while in hospice. All of these individuals went above and beyond the call of service. I went with St. Croix Hospice who came in daily to provide and excellent level of services to made my dad’s end of life care a very pleasant experience. Could I ever find a negative experience, yes, but when I brought it to the attention of the staff, they very quickly adjusted. I highly recommend this facility for its cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff. My dad passed on 3/29/2026. I recommend you visit this facility and talk to the residents.

The Boulevard Senior Living of St. Charles used to be an okay place to be. My parents chose The Boulevard on their own and moved to Independent Living 6 or 7 years ago and from there to Assisted Living where my dad died. Shortly after, my mom moved to Memory Care. But months ago, I noticed that things were beginning to deteriorate. My concerns are listed below in no particular order. 1. My mom fell probably 10 times within her last few months there and needed to go to the ER most of those 10 times. After one of her more recent falls, she was admitted to the hospital. Upon discharge, my mom went to rehab where they did a great job with her. When she returned to Memory Care at The Boulevard, she was no longer falling. This was when I began to wonder about her care in Memory Care. If what she needed all along was rehab, why didn’t any of the staff in Memory Care or the nurse practitioner from the in-house doctor's office recommend that to me? 2. During my Sunday visits to see my mom, I began to notice that typically there were two staff members sitting in the dining room, slouched down in their chairs, on their phones, and not interacting with the residents who were also sitting in the dining room. My mom would be in her room by herself with the door closed. And I thought there were supposed to be activities at least some of the time? But there never were. 3. On three occasions when we visited my mom, her room stunk. When I checked out the bathroom, it stunk even more and I saw that her trash can was overflowing with dirty and unsanitary incontinence underwear. I alerted The Boulevard staff all three times. After the third time, I took a picture of the trash can, took it to the staff member in the dining room who was slouched down in her chair and on her phone, and I showed it to her. When I received no response from her, I asked her to empty the trash can. This third time coincided with a stomach flu in Memory Care. Since I do NOT assume that my mom was being targeted and I do assume that all the residents' trash cans were overflowing, I wondered if the trash cans overflowing with dirty and unsanitary incontinence underwear contributed to the stomach flu outbreak. The man at the Senior Services hotline said he wondered the same thing. 4. On two visits, the door alarm was sounding and when it didn’t seem that anyone was attending to this, I approached the two staff members who were sitting in the dining room slouched down in their chairs and on their phones, and I asked them to handle this. During one of these two visits, as we were walking out of Memory Care, a third staff member was leaving at the same time and she asked, almost under her breath, “How long is it going to take them to handle the door alarms?” 5. When I would visit my mom, I had to ask the staff for the key to her room, as she often locked her door while she was in her room. I asked the staff for months for a key of my own, but up to this point, I had never received one. And the staff key was always difficult to use. The last time I used it, I never did get the door to unlock. My mom did get up and let me in, but it took her a while to get to the door since she is 93 years old and using a walker. As this was a serious safety issue, I reported it to the Executive Director and it was remedied within a few days. So the staff had to know that the STAFF KEY was an issue and did nothing to rectify the situation. 6. In the middle of November, I noticed my mom wasn’t wearing a Life Alert and I mentioned this to the Head Nurse and the Executive Director. They said it was hard to keep one on my mom. A couple of weeks later, I noticed she still did not have one, so I sent an email to the Executive Director. She did not respond to me, but when I saw my mom one week later, she had one around her neck. 7. Recently, I discovered that my mom’s bed had no top sheet on it. I alerted The Boulevard staff. When I returned the following week, there was still no top sheet. I reported this too. The week after that, there was a top sheet, but no bottom sheet. Also, when I packed her clothing to get her out of there, I noticed that she only had one nightgown in her wardrobe and all of the new non-skid socks and the rest of her nightgowns were gone. So I purchased more gowns and more socks. 8. The last straw occurred the last day my mom was at The Boulevard. Her physical therapist who is not employed by The Boulevard showed up at 8:00am to provide therapy. She noticed my mom’s speech was slurred and that my mom could not pick up one of her feet. She reported all this, and an ambulance was called. My mom was taken to the ER, and she was admitted and was then discharged to rehab. All I can say is thank goodness for the physical therapist who was not employed by The Boulevard. With the lack of attention to my mom from The Boulevard staff, I really wonder how much time would have gone by before anyone on The Boulevard staff would have noticed. And at that point, since her care had already deteriorated significantly, I wonder how much they would have done to help her. To make a bad situation even worse, I was present at the rehab facility when my mom was admitted and I saw her bare feet for the first time in years. Her feet were quite red, with lots of peeling skin, and nails that probably had not been cut in 6 months. Supposedly my mom was given two showers a week. If she was, then The Boulevard staff saw the condition of her feet but did nothing to follow up to ensure that she got the care she needed and deserved. The investigator that came out after I hot lined The Boulevard said that there was no documentation that my mom received 2 showers a week, but rather she received a handful of showers the entire month. She also said that other residents received even fewer showers.

I am a fairly new resident at the Boulevard. Inam so impressed by the welcome and friendliness of both staff and residents. I love the dining experience and the opportunity to meet new friends. Love having a washer dryer in my apartment. Best decision I’ve made in a good while.

My grandmother lived here in the last few months of her life. And though the last few months were difficult to say the least, Boulevard truly helped and ensured she had a home with them. They were always kind and courteous to her. Specifically, Kelly Arnold was very helpful in these final months. Though it was not always easy to care for my grandmother, the employees always did so with a smile on their face. This place is a welcoming and joyful community for anyone who joins it.

This place was great at first but has gone sharply downhill in the last year or two. They have constant staffing issues / high turnover which affects the residents. High turnover is a sign of poor management so make of that what you will. They don’t provide services (housekeeping , transportation) as advertised and still charge full price for monthly fees.

This is a really cute place to live. My mother-in-law lives there and I love how the apartments look they're cozy they feel like home. The people that live there are so friendly they go out of their way to talk to you The staff goes out of their way to talk to you and make sure you're doing okay. They also offer a lot of activities for the residents that live there which is nice because then they're not just stuck in their apartment

I have a family member who has lived in the Assisted Living area at The Boulevard since September 2023. My husband and I toured several facilities on behalf of our family member and The Boulevard had everything and more that we could even think to look for in a thriving community for our family member. From our first tour with Paige, we felt very confident about the decision we were making for our family member. The staff here are all amazing and their proactive and transparent communication is just one of the reasons our family member is doing as well as she is at this stage in her journey with dementia and aging. I have never felt burdensome when I call with concerns or questions for my family member. If I had to pick my top three reasons for why The Boulevard St Charles is a safe, trustworthy, and all-around great place for you to consider for your loved one or for yourself, they would be: 1. Amazing staff who truly get to know the residents and look out for their best interests with proactive communication. My family member has said on multiple occasions that she loves where she lives and she feels safe here, which makes me feel good that we chose the best community for her. 2. Minimal staff turnover--I am pretty sure all of the senior and nursing staff (plus many others!) have been here at least the entire time my family member has been a resident (almost a year now)--this says a lot about the culture here for employees and also about the level of care that these amazing people provide for the residents. Special shout out to Kelly, Shelly, Chris, Tina, Rita, Amber, Jennifer, and Paige! 3. High level of engagement with a calendar full of fun activities for residents--trips to area shops and restaurants, scenic drives, happy hours, movie nights, manicure events, education seminars, themed events (Christmas photos, family brunches, Olympic games), and more--there is never a shortage of new and fun activities for residents to enjoy. Thank you to The Boulevard for helping our family member live their best life. 🙂

My mom was member of the memory care community at The Boulevard. I cannot say enough great things about the care she received. The caregivers were compassionate and attentive. The chefs (and I do mean chefs) not only prepared great meals, but they were attentive and caring. My mom was only at The Boulevard for a short time, but I am a fan. If you are looking for a memory care facility in St. Charles, you should tour The Boulevard and visit with the care team before you make your selection. Our hospice care team suggested that we consider The Boulevard, and I will be forever grateful for that recommendation. The Boulevard came through for our family in our time of need.

Independent Living. Beautiful place for mom. Update: 3/2023 Mom has been here for 5 years. Unfortunately, longevity has highlighted some issues with the management company. Firstly, they can't seem to attract experienced professionals. There are ongoing issues with dining room (quality of food and service) and management in general. Getting reliable information is challenging and staffing is sparse and not really helpful to families or residents as it seems that their main objective is to rent more units rather than to retain satisfied residents. This is a very expensive choice for the lack of professional staffing in the IL facility, lacking in overall management. On the plus side, the facility is extremely nice and the apartments are beautiful. Changing my initial review from 5 stars to 2.

I cannot say enough about Mary Lawrence and her team at Memory Care. Mary and her staff worked as a team in giving Mom the best care possible from the heart. It showed in Mom’s interactions with Mary and the employees when she smiled at them even though she couldn’t express herself-her eyes and smile showed them. Boulevard staff worked with St. Croix hospice, coordinating her care, especially the last long week of Mom’s life. In the end, all we want is the highest level of care and concern for our loved one, especially when we can’t be with them 24/7. Boulevard Memory Care lovingly took care of Mom with genuine love of staff shown to her. I am forever grateful to Mary Lawrence and her staff for taking such awesome care of Mom. Thank you.

My mother spent the last 7 months of her life in the memory care section of The Boulevard. I am so grateful to the staff for the love and care provided to my mom (a special call out to Mary Lawrence, the director and Katie, LPN, others too but don't know the names). Mary is very engaged with the residents and staff. She is truly passionate about caring for the residents. I am so thankful that we moved my Mom to The Boulevard. Good care is difficult to find and unfortunately Mom experienced some very bad care from another facility prior to moving to The Boulevard. Keep up the good work. You are truly a blessing!

I cannot express how impressed my family and I were with the care my mother received at the end of her life. Mary Lawrence is simply the BEST. We cannot thank you and your staff enough for the love and care showed to not only my mom, but our family as well. It felt like you were part of our family. Mary is so engaged with the patients and the staff. They work together as a team and provide great care and are passionate about what they do. It was obvious that Mom felt the same and that she had strong bonds with some of the staff as many of them came to Mom's bedside in her final days/hours and said their goodbyes. I am so grateful that we moved Mom to The Boulevard. Good care is hard to find.

I recently moved my grandmother into The Boulevard. Moving a family member into assisted living is never an easy decision, add COVID restrictions, and it was very unsettling. Jeff, Matt and everyone I was in contact with at the Boulevard made the process easy. Every question I had was answered in a timely manner. So far, she loves it. Constantly tells me how good the food is and that she is sleeping well. Highly recommend The Boulevard if you are looking for independent living, assisted living or memory care. Also - Dave with Double D Movers was super easy to work with. He and his team moved all of her belongings in for us and then followed up to make sure she had what she needed.

If looking for senior living options for yourself or a loved one, I would highly recommend The Boulevard. The campus offers many levels of care (from Independent living to Assisted living to Memory Care). When calling to schedule an appointment for a tour I would recommend speaking with Jeff; he has a huge heart, will take his time to listen and help in any way he can! He genuinely cares about helping others! The community is beautiful esthetically but also beautiful because of the genuine love and compassion they have for the residents that call the Boulevard home!

Both my parents and my mom-in-law recently moved to The Boulevard. Despite having to navigate around Covid issues, they have enjoyed the community. What they have especially appreciated is the friendliness of both the residents and staff. Prior to their move they looked forward to being a part of a caring community with common interests, I am happy to share that at The Boulevard they have found it.

We moved my mom to assisted living at the Boulevard when she required more assistance than could be provided by another local Independent Living Facility where she was living. This was a huge transition for her and the Boulevard Management and staff have all been very supportive and helpful and mom has done well there. Mom also has some health and memory complications which have at times required special care and attention. I am grateful for how management and staff have worked together to address her needs and they have at all times done an excellent job of communicating with me and keeping me informed. Yes.. there was the recent incident with the water line break and mom was one of the residents that was temporarily displaced. This was a very unfortunate occurrence that was very challenging for everyone involved and it was disorienting for mom. My experience and observation during this time was that the staff worked well as a team to do the very best they could to focus on taking care of the displaced residents (I did come by a lot to check). Mom was never without sufficient care and was well attended to during this entire time. There are a few minor details remaining to be touched up from this incident but mom is now back in her regular apartment and doing very well. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at the Boulevard for the care that you are providing for mom.

The management is horrid. They will tell you that the memory care portion is your loved one 'forever home ' and we are able to handle care till the end of life for any situation. This is not the case. Do not believe them. After several months at looking for memory care facilities we chose this one because of what was promised. When we moved in they were in the middle of moving a resident out and four months later we were given 30 days to move out also. The communication between the director and the employees (including the nurse ) is petty and badly micromanaged. The room was not ready and we had to move things out (closets were full and furniture was left ) in order to move in. In spite of what we were told there was no orientation for the family when we did move in ( we took off from work to do this). They are understaffed and do not have the personnel to handle the residences. When transitioned from a walker to a wheelchair ( while we were waiting for the doctors approval) a pressure wound was received and is still being treated to this day. There was no suggestion of maybe getting a seat cushion to help prevent this for the wheelchair that we were using from them. The only reason why this got 2 stars is because of the actual workers who were informative and helpful. This was our families first foray into an memory care/assisted living and I hope no one has to go through what we did with this place as there were many other issues to numerous to list here.

We found the Boulevard to be an exceptional experience. All of the staff could not have been nicer or more caring with a special emphasis on Donna Johnson, who Has to be one of the most caring loving people I have ever met. My mother referred to her as her buddy, And frequently told her she loved her. Thank you Boulevard Staff for all that you did

My parents were in the independent side and it was great. I moved my mom to the memory care unit when my dad passed away and communication with management has been terrible. They don't encourage my mom to participate in activities and the set up of the building makes it difficult for friends to pick her up. The Boulevard called me immediately when I posted this review to listen to my concerns and have addressed them.
