When I made my decision to move to Cascades Verdae, a strong driver in that choice was the Water Fitness Program held in their gorgeous Aquatic Center. In the time that I have been here, I am finding this program to be everything I was seeking! The Aquatic Center has a SALTWATER pool just under 25 meters, overall depth of 3.5 feet to 4.0 feet. This allows for very active classes of movement without space constraints. In addition to the great water fitness classes and highly motivating instructors, the pool is open 24/ 7 for personal swimming and exercise. The large, enclosed complex has very high ceilings, as in a college gymnasium, with large sky lights, and a sunny, outdoor patio with cushioned lounge chairs. They supply towels, lockers, full-service male, and female locker rooms each with a dry sauna. Staff are delightful, helpful, and strongly motivating in moving people forward in their workouts. If you aren't breathing heavily by the end-of-class cooldown, you will know you haven't put the energy in. Nicely, there is no "competition" with others. The focus is how hard YOU are working. It isn't a competition-except with self! The fun part is that we aren't competitive with each other. It is a competition with self to push harder, do better. Great fun and certainly everything I was seeking-even more!

My mom & I want to compliment the level of service we've received from the office staff at Cascades Verdae. There are several instances where they have gone above and beyond to make challenges less of a nightmare. Most recently, Ms. Joyce helped my mother return my forgotten iPad. Had it not been for her gracious help in guiding Mom through the shipping process, I'd have been without the device for some time! This isn't the first time that office staff have provided excellent service. The front desk team has also helped with faxing and other types of support. We wanted to highlight these services and the people providing them in this review, as it may not be something that everyone immediately considers. However, it's important to recognize these individuals for the valuable supports they provide to Cascades residents and families.

I moved from my home in Rochester, N.Y. To Cascades in September , and it has truly exceeded my expectations ! The staff and the residents have made me feel so welcome , and the activities available to me are exceptional . The healthy exercise, balance routines, pool activities are conducted by the best of trainers , and they allow for every member to go at their own pace , with much encouragement and fun along the way !!! The surroundings are beautiful , with easy access to shopping, medical care, and anything you need - I truly feel like this is " home" already ! My goal has been to " Keep Moving and Keep Laughing " to extend my later years, and Cascades provides the venue to do just that !!!! I am so happy that I made this move while relatively healthy , so that I can take every advantage that Cascades offers and highly recommend this Senior Living Community !!! 

My husband and I visited the Cascades in 2020 and thought we had arrived at a college campus and not a retirement community. We were impressed with the facilities, the location and the people and the activities . Moved here in Oct of 2021 and have been happy with our decision since that first day. We found we were close to shopping, churches, medical care. downtown Greenville, and the airport. Keeping active is not a problem; scheduling your time can be a challenge. However it has been the people, both the residents and employees that have made it an enjoyable way of life.

We recently moved my mother into Assisted Living at the Cascades from Independent Living. We visited other facilities in the area and realized nothing would compare to the beautiful grounds and architecture of the Cascades. We were hopeful the care would meet our high expectations as well. We have been very pleased. Every single staff member came by to say hello and welcome her. So far all of the promises have been kept, including a short response time to her call button and calling in a physician when needed. Staff remind her of the many varied activities and invite her to join in. She enjoys eating at the dining table with her neighbors and likes the menu. Michelle Powers, Resident Care Director, has done an excellent job and has remained in contact with us via phone calls and follow up. The staff is well trained and caring. Last night we were in my mother's room and two staff members came by for a piece of her birthday cake and stayed to chat and laugh and give hugs. My mother is a changed person, more engaged and secure. We are thankful.

I started in Greenville, jobs and life would take me to Tennessee, North Carolina and Washington DC. Cascades has been my home for 8 years. I enjoy the location of my home, it is in the back area. I can see Linville, and the cottages, I can walk everywhere and use the back gate for quick trips to Target and Trader Joe's. The members become like family. With the different levels of care we can stay on campus and continue to look after each other and keep those relationships. I am able to participate in excercise classes and then visit and help others in Linville and throughout the community.

After moving from my large family home to living in a condo for many years, I realized that I now needed a home that could give me assistance when needed, security and remove concern about their mother from my family. I wanted to live as independently as feasible in a comfortable, friendly environment with a variety of activities for entertainment and self-improvement. After a few visits to Cascades-Verdae Greenville, SC, I knew there was such a place. My lovely apartment immediately felt like home, especially with my own furnishings. From my windows, I look out on a park-like setting with big trees, flowers, shrubs, fountains, walking path and benches for resting and visiting. Residents quickly became my friends and shared seats at the table for delicious meals, movies, programs, excursions, wellness activities, special events celebrations, clubs of interest and much more. Believe me, it is all there for you to enjoy, ask for assistance and feel a sense of family. Staff members are caring, fulfill your needs, enjoy their profession and most of all, want residents to be well and happy. I became a resident of Cascades-Verdae in March 2022. My days have been filled with fun activities, warm companionship, comfort, security and my family is at liberty to take a vacation.

The overall quality of care and attention to detail was amazing. My 87 year old mom spent 60+ days at Cascades - first in skilled nursing and then in assisted living care. Skilled care nursing team Bonnie and Emily along with ALL the Genesis therapists were attentive, dedicated and caring. When mom moved into assisted living the nursing care was egually as impressive with Tiffany Smith and CNA care by Dee. House keeping and maintenace were also very responsive to our needs. And the daily activites were creative and helpful. It was comforting and quite refreshing to see how everyone worked together to provide top quality care. Finally, I encourage anyone considering care for their family member to contact Christy Chambers at Cascades to discuss your needs - she helped us find the right place and plan for my mom's recovery!

My mother has lived at the Cascades in an independent living villa for almost two years and she loves it! When we started to evaluate her options for continuing care retirement communities, we knew she would be quickly uninterested in the dated decor, boring bingo game nights and a tasteless cafeteria menu most places had to offer. From our first tour of the campus with Mary Elyse and Stephanie, we both realized the Cascades is a special place where residents and team members know one another by name and foster an upscale and friendly community environment. Since COVID-19 began, the team at Cascades has done an amazing job at timely communicating valuable information to residents and their families and instituting health safety protocols to protect staff visitors, and residents, all while continuing to provide dining services from a full restaurant menu, fun events, outdoor activities and cultural enrichment programs within the Cascades that conform to the new public safety guidelines. Mom and the other residents trust the guidance of Cory as executive director and have so much fun with the Ed the social director. Mom has made so many friends there, both residents and team members and I can relax knowing she is so well looked out for by everyone there! Scott from dining services is so friendly and helps her keep her pantry stocked with essentials from the Cascades Market so she can avoid unnecessary trips to the grocery store (even though Target is just right outside the back gate for easy access if she needed it!) Marian at the front desk is always smiling and helped Mom feel right at home when she moved in and continues to be a friend. Mackenzie in the dining room and Sharon in housekeeping are also two of Moms fave Cascades ladies and their help is always so appreciated! All in all, the Cascades is a fun place to visit and according to Mom a fun place to live. She likens it to living in a cruise ship with no shortage of things to do! On a serious note, they are taking care to institute mandated and recommended COVID-19 safety protocols and making sure residents and team members are protected while also socially engaged and they are balancing it all very well. Thanks to the Cascades team for taking such great care of my Mom!

i have visited my grandparents over the years and each time i visit they seem happier than ever before. The staff is very courteous and always willing to assist the residents. Even though Covid has put a halt on many of the activities, the social director and event coordinator are always looking for ways to accommodate the residents wishes in a safe and thoughtful manner. The dining facility has operated a door to door food delivery program which is a huge undertaking to keep the residents fed and safe during these times. Our family couldnt be happier knowing that our grandparents are in the safest environment possible. We highly recommend Cascades to those who are looking for a safe, friendly and caring place to call home.

Trying to care for aging parents is stressful. Trying to do this when they are in South Carolina and you are in California is absolutely overwhelming. I am so grateful for the Cascades that I scarcely know where to start. The community itself is stunning — no attention to detail is missed, from the beautifully appointed villas and homes to the gorgeous grounds and gardens. But it is truly the staff that sets them apart. They are kind, they are caring and they go above and beyond the call of duty time and time again: From Kaitlin and Jenny who helped make seamless what was a major transition for my parents, to Events Director Scott who threw a welcome dinner to introduce them to members of their new community to Samantha and Brionna at Reflections who worked so hard to make sure my mom, who has cognitive decline, thrived — and continues to thrive — in her new living situation.The amenities (gym, hair salon, restaurant, pub etc) at the Cascades are top notch and there are numerous events and activities going on daily. My parents could not be happier. Neither could I!

What an amazing place! Mom moved into Independent Living at Cascades in February of 2020...just before the craziness of COVID-19...and she could not be happier! The staff is wonderful, she has made new friends so quickly, she loves the meals, and the activities and fitness classes have been perfect! She feels like she is on vacation. Her apartment is beautiful, the grounds are so pretty, and she really has everything she needs. The administration has done such a great job communicating with the residents and the families during these tough times. We have not looked back once - definitely the right decision for her!!

I have been living at the Cascades for five years.The staff is consistently good. They are always willing to help. If a member can not help heshe will always find someone who can. I have never had a staff member just turn me away with I can not help or do not know rather it is I will someone to help. Two persons who have been especially helpful are Scott Smothers and Rick Haines. Both have been able to direct me to community resources that I needed. Having employees who are knowledge of the community has been a big plus. The curbside market that Scott established for small grocery items has been a blessing. It was a great idea. It is so good to know one can get a piece of fresh fruit when needed. He is a person of many talents and in occasion has helped me access information I needed when I was using the computer.

We moved to Cascades in February, just 2 weeks before our Covid-19 shut-down. We appreciate everything that our Executive Director, Cory Hoots, and the entire Cascades staff has done to ensure our safety and well-being. They immediately began delivering meals to our homes every day. We were, and continue to be offered a wide variety of fun, socially distanced activities every week, and have many exercise opportunities to chose from every day! And, an added convenience was the opening of a mini grocery store! All this has been done with a smile on their faces and a can do attitude. Scott Smothers, Community Event Coordinator, and Marion, Concierge Services, have gone the extra mile to show care and concern, plus be a friendly face for my father during these difficult Covid months. Travis, Concierge Service, willingly went to my Dads apartment to reset his TV clicker. Jordan, Dining Room Manager, and all dining staff have worked a feat by orchestrating amazing meals, service and delivery to the residents. Jill Dodge, Housekeeping Director, keeps facility impeccably clean. The list goes on and on of all the friendly and willing staff at Cascades! As they say, it starts at the top. My wife and I moved to Cascades -Verdae on May 5 during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic. Every effort has been made to keep residents both safe and very comfortable. We are in the independent villa part of the community. This is a beautiful place; the buildings are of the highest quality and the grounds are park-like. We honestly cannot think of how the a retirement facility could be better. Each staff member is terrific and the residents are very friendly and helpful.

My new home at Cascades-Verdae is all was expecting when I searched for a place to settle after selling my home of thirty tears in Greenville, SC. My wife had passed 10 years prior and I was still able to clean and maintain the house and yard with no problem. Meals were primarily microwaved and eaten alone. Research took me to the Cascades web page and there I saw photos of many special events with everyone in attendance dressed in their finest. Is this the way everyone dresses all day? Im just a jeans and t-shirt guy, will I fit in? ? Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that yes, I did fit in and end everyone dresses similarly daily and the finest only come out for special occasions. I can handle that. The meals are delicious and healthy and I now have many new friends and good company with which to enjoy them. No more microwaving alone. Although I am still able to drive to most medical appointments there are eye appointments that assistance is needed on the way home. This is never a problem as Cascades provides a car and driver to deliver and return you home safely. The staff at Cascades are kind, courteous and provided me with recommendations for my transition. Long story short I moved out and in on the same day with everything in place and even the bed made. If anyone is on the fence about living out your retirement make the move to Cascades, youll not regret it. There is plenty to keep you busy without cleaning, maintenance, yard work and cooking. I promise you will not be bored. If you choose to go out to eat, visit friends or travel you are free to do so. Regrets: I should have moved here sooner. JUST DO IT!!

My husband is now in the Nursing Care area where, until COVID, I was able to walk over to see him daily from my independent living villa. Grandma moved in a year ago and the main complaint Ive heard is ambulances honk at 3 or 4am if they cant get through the front gate. Other than that shes found a wonderful community here. She loves her apartment (she can see sunsets), the food, and the movie nights. My family tries to go for dinner once a week and from what Ive seen the facilities are well kept and the staff is A+. Its unfortunate there are so many negative reviews having either no explanation or based off a single negative interaction. If youre considering Cascades for either yourself or a loved one I highly encourage you to come check it out for yourself.
