We were very excited about my father potentially moving to Bella Villagio. He's an independent man who worked until he was 83 and golfed until he was 90. In fact, he was a charter member at PGA West. Recently he decided he was in need of some assisted living. We had an unpleasant experience overall with the assessment that was conducted by the L.V.N. for my father at Bella Villagio. In fact, it was unfair and incomplete. No physical assessment was done at all to truly assess what his needs were. It appeared they had decided before we got there he would be "too high a level of care". I said to Mary Kay "high level of care, he walks, has no dementia and can transfer by himself, this is an assisted living facility, correct?" He's ambulatory but they didn't test him to see where he was at ....at all. He walks with a walker inside his house and to and from his appointments. He takes care of all his own bathroom needs. It seemed they had made their decision to give the room we had put a deposit on to someone else. In fact, there was an appointment right after ours and there was only one unit vacant. It left a very bad taste for this particular facility. My mother was in an Oakmont facility and they were always caring, equitable and fair. I'm in the medical field, a medical practice consultant now after managing medical offices for 45 years. I'm highly qualified to comment on the interactions and what took place. I also took care of my 80-90 yr old mother for 10 years in a similar type of assisted living facility including times at hospital and SNF (Skilled nursing facility). I know exactly what's involved and what services each of these facilities provide. Anyway, we have decided to go a different route because of this unfortunate and unpleasant experience. I hope Villagio will give each potential resident a proper assessment to physically see what their needs are. A need assessment is not just asking questions while resident a resident is sitting down and then assume you know what their physical needs are. Enough said.

This is our first time to use a facility such as this so impossible to compare with other similar facilities. Because of that will give it an average rating. Friendly caregivers but at times seems understaffed. Facility is apparently part of large corporation so can't judge upper level management but lower level management caring and helpful. Nice, clean building. Limited visitor parking.

From the moment I arrived at Bella Vallagio it was a positive experience. The place is clean, beautiful and has so many options available to seniors. My main contacts were Mary Kay and Nathan, who assisted me in the process of both selecting and placing my father into care at this location. The process was seamless. Both Mary, Kay, and Nathan are personable , kind, professional and knowledgeable people in the business. Nathan went above and beyond to always greet us and make us feel Welcome. He helped my dad transition and feel comfortable and welcome it Bella.If anyone is considering the options available in Palm Desert, this is a top-notch Facility who cares about its people. Staff is great, Hector in particular is always helpful! The only complaint is having to call the memory unit and wait so they can open the door. The doorbell doesn't alert them that someone is at that door and during the summer heat this can get pretty annoying.

I can't say enough about how amazing Villa Bellagio is. My 90 year old parents recently moved in and they've been taken care of from the get go. The staff and facilities are top notch and they genuinely care about their residents. I'm very glad my parents live there and I highly recommend Villa Bellagio to anyone looking for a senior living community.

The dining for food has gone down. Items are not how they are described when you get them. Turkey pot pie- is a broth with a biscuit on top, never seen pot pie like this. Items are on the menu and frequently they don’t have these items. This happens on a regular basis. Some staff members are great , other's not so great. Much better when first arrived . Manager never returns calls . Difficult to get to speak with if you have an issue.

This place is extravagant for your loved ones. The kitchen and dining room are insane. I've been a chef, restaurant owner, and an electrician. I know where I would like to be if I were retired. This is perfect. Movie theater, library, gym, pool. Beautiful place
