5 Stars all the way!! I can't say enough good things about Balfour in Longmont. I've worked in a hospital setting for a long time and I know how difficult it can be to provide loving care to this unique population. Balfour, at every turn, went above and beyond for our family member. She lived there for 2 1/2 years, spending the last year in memory care. All of the staff, top to bottom, are loving and kind. The clinical care is top notch. And at the end, the nurses became family to all of us. Balfour is a community, residents have friends and some even bring their dogs. It's a vibrant community and a gorgeous facility. You can't go wrong.

I'm a diabetic 2 and my glucose was very erratic and Christan, the Heath and Wellness director changed my time for my insulin from night time to morning and that solved my my low sugar. Balfour now they administer all my medication

I need to express my frustration. Balfour memory care unit should be staffed well enough to answer the phone. Many times I have to leave a message which my calls have never been returned. My family member doesn't know how to answer her phone. If no one answers the phone I feel totally cut off from her. Under staffed? How can this happen for the $$$$ we pay for her care. Come on!!! Answer the phone!

This community is one of the best I have seen, with some remarkable people living here, world-renowned scientists and others whom I continue to obsess over in their accomplishments. Balfour stands out for its pleasing aesthetics, and over 90% of its care staff here have experience, common sense, and care about their work. After traveling around Colorado and surrounding states, I don't think any other community in CO can compare to Balfour at Longmont in this way. Unfortunately, Balfour communities face significant management challenges. The Health & Wellness Director here ironically is frequently unwell and has to call in sick a lot leading to chaos and a lack of guidance for the staff she's hired. Tends to scold her team if they have unpredictable events and have to call off. Moreover, ignores new medication orders if it's after her hours. If a critical patient has new hospice orders it can be claimed the resident is fine without taking in account hospice's evaluations. The HWD's hiring practices are questionable, exemplified by one of her hired LPNs; Michelle who was known for having inappropriate relationships with her patients while on the job at her former employment. Due diligence is not something that is done, unknown why. Acquiring evidence about that nurse has been relativity easy for me by simply asking her former employer. Despite the challenging situations they have created, Balfour at Longmont remains one of the best places for seniors to live. This is presumably due to the dedicated staff who have been through it all. However, those individuals who do not care about their reputation will eventually rot somewhere else.

Kellaway, Kolby, Grayson, Jesse, and Eli and many others did their part to make an EXCEPTIONALLY difficult transition for our family as smooth as possible! Making a move to memory care means different things to different people. For me, it was the hardest thing I've had to do over the past ~ ten years of parent support (including taking one through the end of life). For whatever reason, this move shook me to my core and I ended up being the one needing caretaking and support. Luckily, the Balfour staff coddles more than just the residents. The move went seamlessly that day due in large part to Kolby! There are no words for how effective, professional, and compassionate he was during a trying time. Kolby, you are a gem and the epitome of what families are looking for during difficult times. Kellaway is also more than a manager, she is someone who cares about the individuals, and the families, who rely on her. And, Greyson, man, way to show up and deliver on your first formal day on the job! You have the right heart for this work! Since my parent made this move, I have found the caregiving staff warm and attentive. Mom has adjusted well and I feel she is much safer now. The team at Balfour work hard to care for, support, and establish relationships with their residents and families. I am very happy with our choice to join the community nearly 3 years ago.

My father has lived at Balfour Longmont with assisted living services for nearly 3 years. And, while he did not want to move to an assisted living facility, he has thrived here. So much so that he will soon be celebrating his 100th birthday!!! I truly believe he is still with us because of the level of care he receives and the comraderie he enjoys with staff and residents.

Balfour has taken wonderful care of my father. The staff is very friendly and professional, and you can tell genuinely cares about him. He has really enjoyed the food there, as well as the activities that are offered, and he really looks forward to the live music on friday afternoons. Balfour has been a great living experience for him, and visiting experience for our family. Highly recommended.

My mother came to live at Balfour a year ago, after the death of my father. She was 89 years old. Although she never took advantage of the incredible amenities available, she was treated with dignity, respect and so much kindness. To the care staff, nurses and physical therapists who took care of her, my heartfelt thanks to every one of you! Leading up to my mom's death on November 11th, and in the weeks afterwards, your hugs and kind words meant so much to me, and to my mom as well. This place is a true gem! We searched for a place for our parents where they could have a safe apartment where services would be available for both as they aged and family members could easily visit. Balfour at Longmont suited our needs in many ways. From the friendly staff to the beautiful interior decor to the lovely outside areas, we have been very impressed with Balfour at Longmont's offerings. Assisted Living services have been excellent. Communicating clearly with family members to ensure the Balfour at Longmont team and our family work to maintain health, independence and dignity has been excellent. From day-to-day activities to care during an emergency, we are confident that Balfour at Longmont is the right place for our parents.

We relocated my late 90's parents to the Balfour at Longmont November 2022 from an independent living facility in Santa Rosa, CA. They both were in need of more assistance than they were getting and needed to be closer to family. The staff and administration are very caring, concerned, responsive, and helpful to my parents. The care providers come quickly when called and work with my parents to provide for their needs while maintaining their dignity. Staff is very good at letting us know if my parents need anything, any issues, or are running low on supplies. The Balfour manages medications for both of my parents, so we are no longer concerned about them missing a dose or confusing medications. My parents enjoy chatting with other residents at meals and the various social/musical events. We have been able to dine with my parents regularly and found the food to be delicious and well prepared. A private dining room is available for family events. We had a lovely meal last Christmas when the grandkids and great grandkids were in town. The building is new, lovely, beautifully decorated, and well maintained. Transportation to doctor's appointments is provided by staff in a car and, if needed, a wheel chair van is available. The Balfour has in house maintenance who are always spot on with any needed repairs no matter how minor. They will even mount paintings and TV's on the wall. It has been such a relief to us to know that my parents are well looked after and cared for by lovely, concerned staff. Thank you so much for your dedication to caring for my parents.

My parents moved here about five months ago. This is the only place I know that has integrated assisted living with independent living. My dad needed some assistance and my mother was, and is, independent. She was my dad's caregiver. Unfortunately, my dad has recently passed away. The Balfour at Longmont staff was truly caring and compassionate throughout my dad's end of life and passing. My mother had the option to return to her own home, but she has decided to stay at Balfour. She loves the people there and joins in activities. She knows that, when she needs it, she will have a caring community to assist her as she ages. I highly recommend this community for an aging loved one that feels like they still have a lot of quality life left to live.

My Mama lived at Balfour Longmont for a little over a year in their memory care wing, "The Range." The love, respect and attention that my Mom was shown in the time she lived there (she recently passed) was excellent...in the face of her rapid decline she wasn't always the easiest one. 🙂 The care staff, nurses, life enrichment, food service and management worked so hard to create a wonderful experience for all the residents at Balfour Longmont during the season of Covid which was such a challenging time for everyone. Anyone who came to visit my Mom always commented on how Balfour Longmont "is as good as it gets for this type of place." I am so grateful for everyone there who touched my mother's life in such a positive way in the last year of her life! I feel nothing but love and respect for all the people who work at Balfour Longmont! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my sweet mama!

I have been a member of Balfour Longmont for the last 8 months. My wife is in Balfours Memory Care. I am very pleased with the memory care provided. In particular the careworkers (nurses and care workers) are all terrific people. Having seen and experienced these people I have always seen them as very caring, very helpfull and they are very delightful to deal with. Not only the patients but us significant others can attest to the sometime health rigors our loved ones can have and I am particularly impressed with the care, the speed and the various follow throughs these care workers provide to assist us with our loved ones. The main area of residents (many of whom have family members in memory care) is also in my view a place where people can assemble, eat wonderful meals and form and enjoy many activities. I find particularly wonderful is their very helpful, attitudes and willingness to assist with whatever we might need or ask for. When looking for a place I looked at 6 places. Balfour was then an easy choice.

We moved our mother into Balfour-Longmont in September and everything about her transition from her family home of 61 years to senior living went incredibly smoothly. Kellaway and Andria treated (and continue to treat) mom and our entire family as if we were their only clients. Since she's moved in, the staff has been welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Since the facility has only been open for 10 months, there have been some minor issues, but the staff responds timely to our requests. The LifeLoop app keeps the family connected to everything associated with mom, which is a comfort to us.

My father has been a resident at the Balfour Longmont facility since it opened in December/2020. The staff in both Assisted Living and Memory Care are amazing. They are compassionate and take care of my father like he is their family member. I am always acknowledged and welcomed when I visit my father. The facility is always clean and maintenance requests are timely. This support staff interacts with the residents with kindness and respect, that his concerns are important. The activities are diverse and the outside entertainment is top shelf. The management team is approachable and handle my concerns until we all agree on respectable solutions. Dining and snacks are quality and remind me of the specialness of home cooked meals. The facility is beautifully decorated and my father has accepted it gracefully as his home, with pride. Balfour Longmont has been the perfect solution for satisfying my father's needs. His family has peace of mind with his care and daily safety. We feel blessed to be in the Balfour community,

My mom is new to the facility and owing to her stubbornness is very slowly adjusting. The staff, however, couldn't be more helpful. I visited 4 days in a row and witnessed how patient they were. 3 staff stand out in my memory, Zita who took a personal interest in getting my mom out of her room and enjoying the beauty of the facility. Also Sherry the CNA and Sherry the memory care director. I feel she is in very good hands. I also like a feature offered called Lifeloop. Here the staff can post what activity's my mom has participated in and I can view photos of her too. While my mom complains about the food, I've tasted it and it's quite yummy. The only reason I'm not giving it 4 stars is that my mom's hearing aids don't always get charged every night and put in her hears when she wakes up in the morning. I'll post more as our experience deepens.
