My mother was a resident of the Memory Care unit for 16 months. We picked this location because the facility was beautiful, and we had a lot of promises of care for her. They were also reasonably priced considering the other facilities nearby. There have been some ups and many downs during the last 16 months. We just moved our mother to another facility this week to be closer to family after her husband who was battling terminal cancer passed away. She was in Greenwood to be close to him. We would have moved her sooner but wanted her to be closer to her husband during his final year of life. If we had to choose all over again, we would not choose Demaree. There have been many valuable employees over this last year. Employees who care about the residents. Our family built relationships and trust with those employees that cared for our loved one. However, the facility and the Executive Director (ED) who started last summer do not hold onto to the wonderful employees. The turnover is absolutely appalling. Since the current ED started last July, every single Director on her leadership team was fired, resigned, or was downsized. (exception, Director of Maintenance). During our 16 months in Demaree “ we had 4 Directors of Memory Care. The major issues we faced were errors with our mother’s medication. Multiple errors. Such as new orders from the outsourced providers being lost multiple times. After a stay in the hospital when our mother’s medicine was greatly changed, the facility FAILED to make the changes in her chart. For 2 weeks our mother received the wrong medications until our family discovered it. The worst issue was our mother received another resident’s new medication for multiple days a medication she should not have been on, and had bad side effects for her.. once again that was found by the family. The staff do mean well, and try their best, but sometimes they are short staffed. During a behavior issue of my mother’s over a long weekend where she kept getting in the shower and caused floods in the bathroom, we were told we needed to either stay with her or hire a private nurse because they were too short staffed for the weekend to deal with her. That was the only solution they offered. Instead, we had a family member come and remove the shower head to prevent the issue. Problem solved by family. The current ED, is unfriendly, doesn’t speak to any family unless spoken too, and seems to actively avoid most all others. If you reach out to her via email, you might as well plan on waiting a day or two, then calling and getting a nice person at the Concierge desk to track her down and ask her to respond to the email. Forget trying to talk to her on the phone, she was never available to talk, you will be asked to email. I will truly miss several employees that we have built relationships with as they did their best to care for our mother. For those employees that have moved on I understand why. For those employees that are still there, I truly hope things get better for you as an employee of Demaree, if not, look me up, I’m happy to give you a reference for a new job. They constantly ask family for google reviews, however, while my mother was a resident, I didn’t think I could leave an honest review with her still living there. So, this is my honest review.

My mother really is loving it here. The staff is very friendly and the residents are happy and welcoming. The thing I would love to see is more of a social media presence. I would like to see the monthly activity calendar posted on Facebook so that the family can always know what is coming up. I would like to be able to call her and say that I can see what's going on today and think she would enjoy it. I can't always get there at the beginning of the month to take my own picture. She likes to have her picture taken and shared also. She likes for her friends and family from out of state to see how much fun she is having.

We enjoyed the Thanksgiving event at Demaree Crossing with my mom. The decorations were very nice, and the setup was good for the high participation. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre, and the portions were a little small for the price. However, the staff were friendly and helpful, as they always are! The atmosphere is clean, bright, inviting, and comfortable. Mom enjoys living there and has made many new friends. Her favorite day is craft day! We always love seeing the smile on her face and knowing that she is safe and cared for. Overall, we feel blessed that her home is at Demaree Crossing.

Demaree Crossing is THE BEST assisted living facility in Greenwood! Both of my grandmothers have now lived here and the experience both times has been truly wonderful. It truly is another home to our family. We recently moved one of my grandmothers in and Ryan and Jordan were extremely kind and helpful in that transition. They were understanding and always available to answer any questions we had. My grandmother loves the variety of activities that they offer, and Denise the activity director does a fabulous job at providing engaging, fun activities for all residents. Would highly recommend Demaree Crossing to everyone!!!

My daughter and a couple of her friends have been volunteering at this center since summer of 2024 for helping out with some of the activities, and this is a place they want to continue volunteering at! The center is well organized, staff is super friendly, and the activities that are organized for the members are very well thought and executed. My daughter has a memorable and fulfilling volunteering experience at the center. Through this opportunity, she is able to give back to the community in her own way. Over the summer my daughter and couple of her friends volunteered at the Demaree Crossing Assisted Living center for school credits. We were impressed by how well organized the center was, the welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and all the activities that were organized for its residents. Volunteering at the center has been a great and enriching experience for my daughter. It has given her a whole new perspective of being part of the community and helping its members. Our father went to live here after being diagnosed with Alzheimers. The nurses and activity directors were wonderful! They loved on our father. They always get the residents involved in different things. They take their time to get to know the residents. When Dad passed they provided comfort for us and even came to the funeral to offer their condolences.

Demeree Crossing is a very nice place , I know my mother in law is in great hands. The place is very very clean. The staff is wonderful.(especially Denise and Debbie)They do crafts once a week, we played bingo they also have card games, they have entertainment .Movie night is always a big hit, At 10:30 they have sit and fit, There is so much here to do to keep my mother in law very busy, they also have a great menu , with a variety of food. I definitely would recommend this place. Everyone here is so friendly and the grounds are very pretty and welcoming

We chose Demaree Crossing for my mom basically by the looks of it. It's very nice, clean, open...overall a wonderful place to live. She is in memory care but the staff through-out the whole facility is excellent...they are very caring, very helpful, very attentive, and most importantly they treat my mother with love and respect. She has a very nice room that we decorated with mom's own furniture and personal things to make it 'her' home. The food is great, the dining area is very nice, and they have so many activities for their residents to participate in if they choose to. They do exercises every day, play games, watch TV in an open area, and have creative activities making things, etc. They can even get their fingernails polished if they want to! There is also an outside patio area where they can take a walk and sit outside to get some fresh air. I am so pleased with Demaree Crossing and will tell everyone I know that Demaree Crossing is the absolute Best!

We recently moved my Grandfather into the memory care side. This place is amazing! Meagan was amazing and helped us through the whole process. The staff here is spectacular they truly do care about their residents. If you are looking around at different places I strongly encourage you to consider touring. Thank you Meagan and Jenni. I could name so many wonderful staff names here. This was a really hard decision for our family and knowing my Grandfather is in the care of such great people who really care and in a top notch facility has made us all rest a lot easier!

It does my heart good to see the photos of the activities in which my loved one is participating. It helps me to stay in touch with how and what she's doing through the week since I can usually only get to see her on the weekends. Also, I can see the joy in her face, which gets lost in a phone call when she is retelling what she did that week. I am so grateful for the staff at Demaree Crossing. I am so very appreciative to them for the care, concern and compassion shown to my family member!

I have had the privilege of working collaboratively with Demareee Crossing as a community partner since opening. It is an gorgeous community conveniently located just off of 135; close to all of the local shopping and restaurants that Greenwood has to offer, but unique in that it is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood away from the noise and traffic. It always makes me smile seeing residents rocking on the front porch enjoying the peace and quiet when I visit the building. Feels like a home! I appreciate the team approach that the community level leadership and corporate leadership teams take to work together to continue to make Demaree a warm and welcoming place for the greatest generation to call home. Food is important to everyone, and it is wonderful to hear from the residents that the food just keeps getting better. I had a meal at a community event recently that would rival any restaurant- bravo to the dining services team! The activities director, Jenni, offers a wide array of activities on both the assisted living and memory care units and keeps the residents constantly active and engaged. After the year we all experienced with the pandemic, the activities department has really breathed new life into the community and it is so refreshing to see residents out and about enjoying life. Families tell me all the time that they love seeing all of the opportunities their loved ones get to enjoy via Facebook posts of activities. Definitely tour Demaree if you are looking for senior care for yourself or a loved one to experience all the community has to offer for yourself!

I have known several of the staff at Demaree Crossing for a number of years. They have an endearing passion for serving seniors and it shows in the way they address their needs and concerns. With their leadership, Demaree is one of the most caring communities on the south side of Indianapolis. They provide excellent service, support and a great lifestyle for those they serve. I have known the Executive Director, Kamela West, for more than ten years and she is outstanding. Not only is she a great leader, she is also a seasoned nurse who is called on by numerous professionals in long-term care when they have a challenge and need expert advice. If you choose Demaree Crossing for yourself, or a loved one, you won't find a better place to call home.
