The food was very good and presented nice. The staff and service was exceptional. We enjoyed ourselves and had a lovely visit.

We visit our friend, Kathy, in assisted living to play canasta with her every month. We like to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy while playing for a couple hours. We find it difficult to find a suitable place for us to play and consume our snacks and beverages. Yesterday when I arrived the whole bistro area was overtaken by a family with lots of children and changing diapers on the bench. As a result I went to the book room to set up to play for a couple of hours. We were visited by your concierge and general manager to tell us that no food was allowed in this area. A group of women who play bridge on Monday afternoons in this area told us the same thing. Where exactly can we play with our friend Kathy? Her room isn't big enough. If the bistro isn't available where should we go? We just want to spend a few hours with our friend doing what we have done for 14 years before Kathy became disabled.

We love Clarendale! From the very first meeting through to now, they are a joy to work with. Maureen is a light! My loved ones are safe and doing well. It's difficult to lose independence, but Clarendale has eased the burden for my them. Plus there are actually a lot of residents that are quite independent. To my family and I, we felt like we were being welcomed into an upscale hotel, but still retaining a cozy vibe. (It doesnt feel like an "old folks home.") I want to thank them for everything!

I support several Clarendale communities, and the team at Algonquin is wonderful! I was so impressed to learn that many of the Directors have been there since its grand opening. Their longevity really shows the pride they have in serving seniors everyday. The community also recently updated several common areas that have given the place a fresh, welcoming look. If you haven't had the chance to visit, I highly encourage you check it out.

What a great place!! My mom was in a skilled nursing facility due to a hip replacement. She no longer needed that care. We felt she would flourish being closer to us & in a much happier environment. We viewed many facilities & nothing called us home like The Clarendale. From the minute we walked in to everyday occurrences. The atmosphere is so upbeat, warm & happy. That’s my 83 yr. Old moms take as much as it is her families. The systems in place are seamless. The staff is positive & willing to be of any assistance. Daily choices of food are just delicious. Activities start at 9:30 am & go to 9 pm. This community speaks volumes for anyone’s loved one. The Clarendale is home’ for our mom.

Clarendale of Algonquin is a beautiful senior living facility. Everyone there is so nice. The staff there helped my aunt understand the many options and services available. They answered all of her questions. And with that, she found the perfect apartment. I can’t imagine a nicer place for her to live. It’s easy to be skeptical of a nice review. Please don’t be. I have my in-laws there. The staff is just remarkable! They are so good with the residents by getting them involved as much as they can. The nursing staff and the excellent workers next to them really take care of who is living there! They all really care about the residents! It’s nice and a big comfort knowing the staff truly cares for the residents and it really shows how much they love what they are doing!! We are truly lucky and blessed to have such a great team behind our loved ones. I won’t stop either until I talk about the kitchen staff and the servers! During our visit, it was easy to see the care that is given to the residents. The facility is already beautiful and it is currently going through more upgrades. This is definitely a facility to consider when looking for a loving caring home for your loved ones.

I visit my sister in the Memory Care unit about 3 times a week. Most troubling to me is shortage of staff. One staff person being in charge of activities for 15 to 20 residents and personal needs of the same residents is not adequate care. What is more important games and crafts for all residents or the safety of a resident that may try to get out of wheel chair or begin to walk without walker? At least two staff members should be available at all times and I do not see that being done.

My husband and I were visiting The Clarendale to see whether it would be a good option for an elderly aunt who wants to sell her home and move to a place where she no longer has to worry about maintaining a house, particularly as she gets older. Jim was extremely helpful in explaining what The Clarendale has to offer, how their program works, as well as showing that they care about the person who is moving there. He went through all our questions and answered them very well, providing good insight into what our aunt could expect. The facility was very clean and the apartments are quite comfortable, and seem very much like home.

Just recently placed my Mom with Clarendale of Algonquin, and what a wonderful Experience!!! Working with Maureen, Colleen and Jim was by far very professional and heart felt Experience... I also cannot give enough credit as well to all the hard working staff that oversee the care that mom needs... In just a few short weeks my mom is a changed person....Physically and mentally... Dementia is forsure a difficult and hard road, that's fact...all the folks at Clarendale of Algonquin made this transition wonderful, not only for Mom...but me as well...
