My dad has been a resident at Summit of Uptown for three years, and the staff has been incredible. They see him as a person, not a room number, and treat him with warmth and dignity. They’ve gone above and beyond for us time and again. The community is clean and well cared for, meals are steady and satisfying, and there are activities that keep residents connected. But it’s the people that make the difference. Robyn sets the tone with genuine leadership. Emma, one of the servers, is so kind and attentive. And she knows how to brighten his day, often with his favorite ice cream. Tessa, at the front desk, always greets us with a bright, welcoming presence. And Dawn, who oversees the kitchen and catering, keeps things running smoothly. There are so many others who deserve thanks, but these few reflect the heart of the place. We’re truly grateful.

Our family has been so impressed with the positive changes at this memory care facility. All staff has truly gone above and beyond to create a warm, compassionate, and engaging environment for both residents and their families. It is evident that she genuinely cares about the well-being of every resident and is committed to providing exceptional care. One of the most appreciated additions has been the weekly family newsletter. It keeps loved ones informed about activities, events, and important updates, giving families peace of mind and helping us feel connected to our family members' daily lives. This level of communication has made such a meaningful difference. The dedication, transparency, and genuine compassion shown by the Director and staff have not gone unnoticed. From the very first day I entered the halls and rooms of The Summit of Uptown to take a tour, I knew it would be the best place for my mom to live independently, but finally CLOSER to me and my family. The staff has been phenomenal and there are a multitude of benefits that I've never experienced elsewhere for senior living. Summit is an excellent extended care facility. I have experience with 3 other similar purpose facilities in the area. Their purpose is similar but the quality of care at Summit of Uptown is of far superior quality. If an assisted living facility might be needed for your loved one you should definitely check out Summit of Uptown.

My husband and I have been at the Summit of Uptown for over a year in independent living. It was absolutely the best decision for us. We looked at multiple senior living facilities, but the Summit stood out in many ways. For what you get, it is financially the most economical. The staff is very kind and sincerely cares about the residents. The food is DELICIOUS, seriously! There are activities all day long to choose. And the location offers so much, restaurants, the library, the theater, many churches and transportation by bus or train. We love it here!

It is never easy to relocate from one State to another. It is even more difficult to realize that whether you like it or not you have reached the point in your life that you need not just family support but a more supported lifestyle. From the moment my husband and I entered Summit we felt welcomed and cared for. Robyn explained it all and again and again as we asked questions and she never lost patience or made us feel silly when a few tears were shed as I seemed very surprised to be in this position. While there were no apartments available in May of 2024 we made our decision on the spot that these were the folks we wanted to share our new to us lifestyle with and this was exactly the place we wanted to be. It was not just the staff but the residents themselves who made us feel welcome. When an apartment became available in Octobe we moved in with a lot of help from Shelley and a zillion questions answered with a smile by Cherise at the front desk. After eight months I can say in all honesty that we have been treated with love and kindness from every single staff member here. Always a smile and a friendly hello. The food has been a bonus. Great choices and delicious. Eating has been a highlight of everyday! Thanks to our chef Jacob and his kitchen staff (I think maybe the dining room could be larger) but the dining room staff led by Sarah take good care of us, they never let us leave hungry. Regular activities and musical programs keep things lively. Again the engagement staff are really good and offer a wide variety of things for a range of varied interests. As we are in independent living the community itself has much to offer and much of it within walking distance. Ike our driver for short trips is truly wonderful. There are so many people and things to like at this place but the number one thing is the staff from those we meet daily to those we see rarely. I am truly grateful to be here. I think if I could I would personally name each and everyone of the staff for special acknowledgement but while I do not know you all by name know that I appreciate YOU ALL and those I do know by name please know you hold a special place in my heart. February 15 2025 What a good decision we made to move to this exceptional place while we were still able to make this decision ourselves. It has truly been a wise and wonderful choice. We continue to enjoy the amenities especially the staff and the other residents. We daily relish the varied and delicious meals, the activities and the on-site health care support. It has been a blessing and we feel we have come to a warm and welcoming home.

After visiting several Senior Residences, I just made the commitment to Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge. I can’t wait to move in! Everyone, staff and residents, is genuinely friendly and happy to be here. The facility is spotless, location is near Trader Joe’s, a great location with lots to do in Park Ridge, a community you’ll want to live in. Searching for a prime senior residence? Begin here. Others won’t compare! After moving into Summit I found my initial review exactly on point. One example of a staff member who goes above and beyond, always cheerfully with a smile and desire to help, is Timo, a member of the maintenance staff. The very next morning after I moved in Timo knocked on my door to see if I had empty unpacked boxes to be removed. I had been wondering how I was going to get rid of the boxes and packing paper. Before I could even ask, Timo was there that morning and every morning after without even being asked to removed the clutter of settling into my new home at Summit. Timo is the best! Other staff is equally as helpful and cheerful! Summit really was the best choice for me! Five months after moving here, I couldn’t be happier! The residents continue to be the friendly, welcoming, interesting people I initially experienced and there’s so much to do. I spend little time in my apartment as a result. Recently I joined the book club and creative writing group. Residents are welcoming, outgoing and happy to be here. I think I know almost all one hundred in independent living by name now. Those happiest participate in many of the activities because it’s the easiest way to meet others. I know only a few who spend most time in their room/apartment which is isolating. They don’t seem to mix with others easily as a result. The Resident Advisor volunteers attempt to ease new people into Summit life so there’s a real effort to help new residents feel part of community life. If you’re considering senior community living, visit more than once to get a genuine feel for Summit. I know that helped me decide Summit was perfect for me.and it is!!

Our first visit scouting places for our parents gave us a fabulous feel. Robyn and Jocelyn were kind compassionate and energetic with all of the residents and so understanding of our situation. The follow up with our parents was a homerun. After several years of saying no, they signed on the dotted line their first visit. They've now been living there with the help of Shelly at Summit coordinating the move and the staff being unbelievably friendly and helpful. 6 weeks in, and never a day of regret from my parents. They continually comment how much they love the energy of Park Ridge and all is offers them when they step out the door. The Summit, people, food and programming, and medical offerings have surpassed their hopes. We are so thankful to see them get life back in their years in a safe environment. Highly recommend

My dad had reluctantly given up driving a couple of months before moving into independent living at the Summit of Uptown. He was very upset about the loss of independence and being able to get out to meet friends for a pint at the local Irish pub. Since my dad was no longer driving, having a driver available for short trips was a selling point when he was choosing a retirement community. Thanks to the Summit's friendly and patient driver Ike, my dad is still able to get out regularly to enjoy a shandy. All of the staff have been friendly, caring and welcoming.

We moved my grandmother into the Summit of Uptown in March 2024, and from day one, everyone has gone above and beyond to care for her and has made her feel at "home". I can't say enough positive things about ALL of the staff there, but in particular, Connie has been so incredibly kind and caring, patient, nurturing, and truly listens to my grandmothers needs and feelings. She is always quick to come when my grandmother hits her button, which is always reassuring. Connie always goes the extra mile to make sure my grandmother feels loved and well taken care of. My grandmother looks forward to participating in all of the activities (esp Bingo!) every day, and she thoroughly enjoys all of her meals in the beautiful restaurant, which is saying a lot because my grandmother is VERY picky when it comes to food. LOL! I even enjoy participating in all of the activities when I visit her. Everyone makes me feel like I am part of their family too. I feel at ease knowing she is so well-cared for by everyone at The Summit!

My husband and I, (long-time residents of Park Ridge), were unexpectedly and urgently confronted with the task of finding an assisted living facility for our 59 year old son. After just one visit with your staff member, Shelly Valenzia, we knew that we found the right place for him at the Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge. Shelly was working alone in the office during this week when our arrangements needed to be made. (Robin and Jocelyn were out of town at a business meeting). Shelly was doing the job of three people, and she did it all with compassion and a smile. So much needed to be accomplished in just a few days, including getting the apartment newly painted and ready for us to bring in furniture. At this time, our son was still at Avantara and it was imperative we get him over to the Summit as soon as possible. With this task, Shelly also assisted us in accomplishing what needed to be done. We would like to say Shelly is an impressive asset to the Summit, as is your entire staff from the front desk to the restaurant. With a special mention of gratitude to Nurse Marinella, we extend our thank you to all the very caring staff who administer to the personal needs of our son. My husband and I are very grateful for all the special care at the Summit. Our son is very happy there and that is a great relief for us. M&W Barton Update: In May it will be a year since our son Blaise found a home at the Summit of Uptown Park Ridge. What a blessing it was, that a room was available for him in the assistant’s living building at that time. Blaise has gone through many ups and downs since he moved in, but he is truly happy in his one-bedroom apartment. The nursing staff under the Care Director, Marinela Busu is outstanding. Up until this past Friday, Blaise liked to travel out of town, and it always entailed a lot of extra planning. All his Meds needed to be prepared, and he needed extra help and guidance in the preparations for his trips. The nursing staff has always been very efficient and helpful. But most of all is the help we get from Marinela Busu. She has been such a comfort to us. No matter what time I walk into her office with another Blaise wish, (problem) she finds time for me and a solution. Her help and compassion gives us comfort. My husband and I are very grateful for all the special care that Blaise gets at the Summit.

For the past 25 years, I have been an entertainer for several dozen senior living venues throughout Chicagoland on an ongoing basis(3 - 4 times annually at each venue). Among the best(if not THE BEST) that I have seen during my career is The Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge. Every time I visit to perform for their residents, I can't help noticing how bright and clean it is and how happy the residents are! The activity director Jocelyn and her conscientious staff are very well-organized, highly professional and pleasant to deal with. They are acutely attentive to their residents' needs and constantly demonstrate that they take their work seriously and that they are dedicated to(and truly care about) their seniors(which is very refreshing compared to the apathy I often encounter at many other senior living venues). In short: I would highly recommend The Summit of Uptown to anyone seeking a wonderful, caring home for their loved one(s)!

My mother was a resident of the Summit of Uptown s Memory Care Unit. Her care was outstanding: she was always well groomed & nourished and the staff surrounded her with love and care. Everyone went the extra mile to care for her. They provided cognitive enhancing daily activities and treated all residents with dignity. The nurses and nursing assistants are knowledgeable & vigilant with infectious disease precautions & prevention. Family are always welcomed & included in decisions and care updates. I cannot say enough about the Memory Care Unit staff & environment. It was truly my beloved mother’s home and when I would return to my home, I had great comfort in knowing she would be receiving the best care.

My mom moved into Summit of Uptown, Memory Care in July of 2022. The sales staff on the front end was professional in helping me navigate through this transition for my mom. The recreation staff, specifically Matt and Emily, exhibit a passion for the daily activities they lead, as well as the special talented people they bring in. Holiday entertainment and decorations are amazing. Sharese and Ike at the front desk are warm and welcoming. The cleaning, cooking, service and maintenance staff work like a well oiled machine. The staff in the memory care ward is kind and sensitive and caring. As mom’s dementia progressed, the memory care staff was extremely skilled and well prepared to handle anything. They let mom run her own relaxed schedule while maintaining her daily meals, hygiene, medications, etc. She always said the people there were so nice. Dora Loya, the Director of Memory care, is fully immersed in her job and could not be a more compassionate and good natured boss, co-worker and confidante. We’ve known each other now for over two years and I feel a special bond with this angel. My mom passed away peacefully in February, surprisingly, while I was visiting her at Summit. Dora, also an RN, along with the on-duty nurses Melody and Elizabeth handled this situation with professionalism and grace. I’ll forever be thankful that these three women were there. Also, another of my favorite nurses is Anuja. I would recommend Summit to anyone who is interested in Independent, Assisted or Memory Care. Thank you. Liz Repking

My mom has been at Summit for 10 months. I am very happy with the care she is receiving. I am out of state but communications are good, emails and calls answered quickly, and problems are resolved. Employees are friendly and seem to like their job. The front desk always helpful; the nurses and nurse assistants are great. I don't know all the names but Anuja, Melody and Connie stand out. Shelly, Marinela & Oscar helped with move in and other issues. Summit was there when my mom needed respite care and now she is a permanent rssident. Thanks to all of Summit's staff for what they do!

Amazing experience. We have been looking for a place for my mother that's a great fit. We found it. The people here are so caring and thoughtful. They are very respectful of my mom's wishes and very understanding of her desires and needs, and our concerns when it comes to finding the right retirement community. Everything has been handled with the utmost compassion and professionalism. My mom, who was very reluctant about this move, is now very excited about it and is looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life. Update: My mom has been here for a year now and I have nothing but good things to say about her living experience. Her apartment is lovely and feels like home. She really likes living here. The other residents are great people and she has made friends. Lot of things to do, and her every need is promptly taken care of with kindness and respect. I live in a different state, so it's challenging to manage things long distance. The staff at Summit has made that challenge as easy as possible. Shelly and Jocelyn have been incredibly helpful as we have managed some minor crises. They have been in contact with me, been wise and helpful as I tried to negotiate the best course, and then just followed up to see what was going on because they simply cared about my mom. Also, the entire front desk staff has been amazing - always kind, considerate, and helpful. Special shout out to Sheree! The front desk folks make sure her Amazon packages get to her right away, always treat her with kindness and respect, and are just good caring people. The handyman, Temo, is amazing - very responsive and helpful. Seriously, everyone here, from the cleaning staff to the wait staff, to the handyman and driver, are genuinely good people who know the residents, show incredible compassion and kindness and respect. They even let us host my mom's 90th party in the common room. Almost every day, I say a silent prayer of thanks that we found this place for my mom.

My mother has been a resident for about eight months, and the CNAs and staff treat my mother like family. The list could go on and on from the warm and welcoming reception from Dawn and Priscilla to the food service staff in the dining room like Emma who treats my mom like a queen! The CNAs are incredible; Connie, Sara, Lizzy, Kierra, Shakira, Juliana, and more. Anuja is attentive to every detail and is led by the amazing resident director Marinela. We are so fortunate to have their care and support. Temo and Oscar make sure that everything is working in order at all times, helping with little things like fixing the remote control to the TV or a blind cord for the window. Matt and his team, Rosa and Mae keep the activities current and plan weekly outings - the lunch bunch is my mom's favorite! Thank you for all that you do!

Our tour guide, Robyn, was extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions with such enthusiasm. She really wanted to understand our needs. In addition, she was the 1st facility (and there were many) to follow up on our visit. We had a very complex situation and Robyn was there helping us every step of the way. Summit is perfect for our mother! My sister and I visited over 10 other facilities and chose Summit. Mom was not cooperative with her moving out of the house, but the staff at Summit made her more than welcomed as a new member of the community. The leadership and staff are beyond friendly and accommodating, the food there is outstanding, and it's located in the heart of Park Ridge with restaurants, shopping and the Pickwick close by. They have activities scheduled every day and mom carries her itinerary with her from the time she wakes up. MY sister and I made n outstanding decision moving her here. I highly recommend it!

The Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge, IL is a fabulous facility! We were in a jam two years ago and needed to quickly find a place to take care of my aunt. The Summit worked with us to move her into an independent living apartment. As time went on, we eventually moved into assisted living and then into memory care. Throughout our journey, my aunt and our family interacted with skilled staff that treated us with kindness and respect. Being both compassionate and flexible, the Summit was understanding and able to pivot with the uncertainty and many changes that can occur as your family gets older and moves from being independent to relying on others. My father was excited at this new adventure because of the personal connections made with the staff at the Summit.

The Summit of Uptown at Park Ridge offers an excellent living and care (if needed) environment. They provide wonderful facilities, services and activities that promotes a very warm, welcoming and engaged community. Bill and the entire management team were extremely supportive during this life transition for my mom and are dedicated to the highest standards of service.

I have an elderly aunt and uncle who had to move from California to Illinois. My aunt had suffered a stroke and I was looking for a place that was safe and willing to give her the care she needs. I met with Julie and Bill about getting them a place at Summit of Uptown. They walked me through the process. Step by step. If there were any issues at all they were on top of it. Immediately. When things got stressful for me. They were always there to help. I had to meet with the head of nursing at one point. Her name is Kim. She walked me through all kinds of situations regarding the care for my aunt. When my aunt and uncle finally arrived. Kim and Julie were waiting for them, even though their plane was delayed by 3 hours, they still waited. Needless to say they are finally settled. It was a whirlwind of emotions, but without the staff at Summit, I would not have been able to get this done. On another note, the very first day my aunt was there, the C.N.A's at Summit responded quickly and have the utmost respect for who ever it is they are caring for. The facility is very clean and their food is great!. I would absolutely recommend Summit of Uptown to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

The people at the Summit have been very good to us and to our Mother who is resident there. My mother has lived in independent living and recently moved to memory care. The staff has been so king to us. When I go to visit I feel very much at home. Mariah has been there for us as a great support in making the transition. My mother is very fond of Mariah as are the other residents. Boriana has been very helpful and kind to us also. I would recommend the Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge to anyone looking for good senior care.

I moved my brother from a retirement home in Chicago to Summit of Uptown after carefully considering the various options. I am so thankful that I did. Summit staff is so considerate, caring, and respectful of their residents. And, very important to me, they keep the family abreast of any problems. (I live in California) The food is outstanding. Jacob carefully plans the menu to be nutritious, tasty, and the presentation is eye-appealing. If I had to do all over again, I would still choose Summit of Uptown as I don’t believe I could find a better home for my brother.

Selecting a home at this point in my life was an extremely important and difficult decision. An atmosphere of kindness and community at The Summit was obvious to me on my first visit.The staff listened carefully to what my needs were and worked with me to find an apartment just right for me. The Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge provides honest and trustworthy care in assisted living. We are so proud to partner with them on community events that are senior citizen involved! They take great pride in treating every resident there with a fun, loving, and empowering environment. I know from first-hand experience it's difficult to entrust our families in their golden years to assisted living facilities but this one is top-notch. The staff treats all residents like family.

My sister has been living at the Summit for 4 months now and she and our family have been impressed with the quality of care and concern the staff has shown to her. Receptionist Scherice - kind and helpful. Matt-always smiling and remembers everyone's name. Jacob - accommodating. There are many more but don't know their names. Maintenance men are great and always willing to hep. Thanks to all for an interesting and and dependable atmosphere and service.
