I did a walk-in on the facility wanting to promote my company! I asked for the Director Rolanda, she was very energetic and welcoming! The residents were playing cards, they had great fun music playing and staff were all smiling. I love what I saw in my short time there. I was in the Assisted Living Building! I would recommend it to my loved ones or anyone looking for an assisted living community!

My mom has been a resident of the Forum memory care for several months and I had to express my gratitude for their wonderful care and amazing staff. Many of the staff have discussed they've chosen their jobs because they truly wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. They've certainly made a beautiful difference in my mother's life with their consistent staff and continuing efforts to establish a personal connection with every resident. They've guided me and accommodated my mom's changing needs with love and patience and even joy! What a difference it makes to have real people take real time to love and care for my precious mom when she needs it most. My cup runneth over…

I was just getting ready to do a 5 star until the sales counselor, not mentioning any names in this post to give her the privacy I did not get, she grilled me and made me feel discriminated against. I was there to only drop off some groceries for 1 of their residents which is my 2nd job. I noticed how beautiful the property is and decided to ask for a brochure since a relative of mine is looking for a senior independent living home due to her house being too overwhelming for her. Sales counselor grilled me about my primary job and my new wonderful side career I do every once in a while, how long I've been there and she started to dig deeper until I shut it down. All of that just to get a brochure to take to my relative to look over to see if she wants to schedule a tour????? I REFUSE to give the brochure to her now. I'm throwing it away in the trash. Stop harassing people and stop acting paranoid because of ones profession. You weren't being investigated. I was just a normal woman inquiring. You just lost a potential resident. Note: I only mentioned my side career due to her insulting my intelligence when she was describing the studio.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the assisted living program at the Forum at Memorial Woods. I made friendships with other residents, played games, went on day trips, attended services and listened to guest musicians. The caregivers were kind and became some of my best friends. I would highly recommend the facility! My family felt safe knowing that I was living there.

When we moved in, the food was late much of the time, it was cold, over cooked and had no visible appeal. But, the hamburgers and deserts were mostly good. I did notice that we had the same thing every week, but I didn't have to cook, serve or clean. When our new Chef came in, there was an immediate change. She attempts to listen to the residences and make changes. I love the communication and the fact that when she sees something wrong, she corrects it. The food has gotten so much better. The soups are delicious and so many varieties. We had a real Chicken Fried Steak and gravy that was almost as good as the late Threadgill's in Austin Texas. The carrots, broccoli, asparagus and breakfasts are to die for. One can order a delicious medium rare hamburger and receive it in a timely manner with waffle fries. The coffee is the best in Texas and the staff tries to keep our cups full. One cannot ask for much more.

I had lunch in the dining room with three other friends. We all made up our mind what we wanted to eat before the waiter came so when he came, we were ready to give him our order. It was Lewis and he did a great job serving us. He brought us our salad and soup soup was very hot which was good and I ordered eggplant parmesan and vegetables and the eggplant was probably the best I've ever eaten here anyway Tina does a great job she's the chef.

The Forum at Memorial Woods opened in the mid 1980s as one of the grand dames of retirement living in Houston, having an independent living tower, a separate assisted living and memory care building, and a temporary nursing care facility that was attached to the independent living tower. I moved into independent living at The Forum at Memorial Woods about 3 years ago and shortly thereafter, the skilled nursing was phased out. My experience at the Forum has only been with independent living and thus far mostly favorable. Any issues that arise, whether mechanical or plumbing, that I report are addressed promptly. Housekeeping is provided weekly, even if the scheduled day happens to be a holiday. Activities are pretty much daily and decor is attractive and changes often, even overnight if the holidays demand! The staff and management go out of their way to provide and accommodate the residents, to make sure the residents' needs are met. With advance notice of storms or freezes, management will often stay on site with residents to ensure safety. Food quality and variety is good with more varied menus ranging from soups and salads to hotdogs and hamburgers, to Mexican, Asian, pastas, fish, steaks, lamb, and incredible holiday feasts! I really appreciate the improvements made in the dining services by Chef Tina and hard work done by staff and management. The staff and management definitely put in much more hours taking care of the residents than they get credit for.

I have several clients that have lived there and the the Forum team has always handled their needs with the utmost importance and care, as if they were family. The building was recently renovated, resulting in a nice high end, but welcoming feel. In addition, there are always fun activities and events for the residents to take part in.

My sister and I have recently moved a close relative into Assisted Living at The Forum at Memorial Woods. I can't say enough about how crucially helpful the staff at The Forum has been during this transition. Both of us live far away from Houston and simply could not have accomplished this without their help. All of the staff has been so friendly and forthcoming with communication and we'd like to give a special shout out to Denise Collins and Tylin Williams for their proactive involvement and organization. This experience has been totally different and far superior to what we have experienced in the past at other communities. Our relative already seems to be feeling better and doing better after just a few days of being at The Forum. Truly a Five Star Experience!

He always has a smile on his face and kind words for everyone. He greets every resident like they are his best friend and he is truly glad to see them. My mother has lived at The Forum for over 12 years and she has loved it! They have a very wonderful, caring staff! Yesterday we celebrated GG's 95th birthday with a lot family coming in from out of town. The Director of Activities, Angelle Braddy, and the Director of Dining Services, Jessie Shogreen and also the Chef (whose name I do not know) were all instrumental in making this a beautiful and successful celebration!! My Dad has been at the forum for probably about 8 months now. He is in the memory care unit and has fit in quite nicely. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive. The staff is fantastic about helping us stay on top of his medications and the various Dr Appts that he may have coming up. When first getting him settled in there Wendy could not have been more helpful explaining the cost and letting us know how everything worked. Also the galleria centric location is perfect for our family. I would recommend anyone dealing with an elder looking for memory care or assisted living to check it out.

Dear Jane, I wanted to take a moment to tell you and how pleased we are whit every single aspect of out experience at the forum Dinner today was at a New level of professionalism show by Jessie Shogreen and his staff is as good as I ever seen. There was not one detail Thad Jessie overlooked. The food was outstanding and my discriminating adult children were blown away by the food he serve today the shrimp today was amazing and upstaged only by the amazing flavors in each bite . The staff was so friendly and helpful and seemed to anticipate every single need it is easy to see the relaxed and professional way Jessie interaction whit the residents what a pleasure it was to watch him work and move so wonderful Overseeing all the operation from the beginning till the end of this wonderful Dinner I had some request from my kids for Dinner and for some reason Jessie see is ok I can make it happen He seems to be in the business of yes and make it all look easy when it certainly cannot be ! The Forum is very fortunate to have this team and someone like Jessie it was a wonderful and amazing experience plus he is a I candy for all the single ladies them that live in this facility his very charming and caring for this generation. I simply cannot say enough good things about the Forum and its wonderful caregivers. My mother has been a memory care resident on the 4th floor for two years. Her advanced dementia is complicated by a severe preexisting depression, anxiety disorder, so her medical management is quite difficult. Nursing supervisors Juan, Geneva and Felicia update me regularly regarding her condition and have always obtained a prompt medical evaluation of anything serious. The Bridge to Rediscovery Program is well designed to allow residents to participate in activities at their own pace. The memory care staff--every one of them--are true angels, handling an incredibly difficult job (as anyone who has lived with someone with advanced dementia can attest) with grace and compassion. There has been very little turnover--almost all of the staff on my moms floor have been working there since before she moved in, which is important in terms of their familiarity with the individual needs of the residents. I have spent a good bit of time there and have never witnessed anything like what has been described in some of the negative comments on this review board. To the contrary, I have seen nothing but dedicated professionals who go above and beyond on a daily basis. They really are the best.

My husband has been in memory care on the Fourth Floor since April, 2018. I live in the same building in independent living. I visit my husband at least twice a day at different times and have observed all shifts. In a few words, the nurses, the caretakers, and the staff are fantastic. They have a tremendously challenging job because dementia patients can not remember routines or requests. My husband has gone though stages of dementia while he has been there, and they have helped my husband as well as me deal with the changes.Jessica, Geneva, and Felicia are the best, and they set the standard of superb care. I have never see the conduct Tish describes. Perhaps she is merely inexperienced with this disease and the Fourth Floor.

Cannot more highly recommend the Forum. If you are looking for a safe, secure, clean, friendly, and caring place look no further. In particular, Madeline Goldsmith, Director of Independent Living, goes far out of her way to take very special care of her residents. Recently my aunt had become ill and Madeleine was incredibly helpful to my aunt and our entire family in transitioning from a hospital stay back to the Forum. Sadly, my aunt passed away several weeks later. Without hesitation and without having been asked to help, on the Sunday my aunt passed Madeline went to the Forum on her day off, and stayed with my uncle past midnight until the funeral home could arrive. Madeline kept our family informed of every step that day and virtually held our hands through the process. Madeline and the staff at the Forum always go out of their way to take care of their residents. They treat them like family. If there was a way to give more than a five star review Id give as many as possible. This place is truly amazing.

Jessie I Now it took me a long time to post this but I just feel like I need to let you now about Fathers Day was one of the best Fathers Day I ever seen Ive been coming to visit my parents at this facility for so long for the past six years and this is the best Fathers Day I ever seen make and you had so much people in this building I dont even know how did you do this I guess you have to love your job that much to be able to satisfy everyone specially the Residents well it was a pleasure meeting you and your staff hope you had time for your family. O my God I just can believe they are still Gentlemens in Houston i was going to visit my mom in Katy coming from the movie with my kids , for some reason my car stop working in from of this place it look like a Hotel but the not realice it was a Senior Living home . A wonderful and very handsome man stop to see if I was ok I tell him the situation I was like is ok let me see how can I help you, at this point is very cold out side he decide to open the car trunk and look in to the car . I was like thank you God I had no idea what to do he was like is going to be ok just stay inside whit the kids. I feel blessed at Thad moment I was wondering were is this Handsome and very well bill Man came from . So I decide to make conversation he was like I work at this place my Name is Jessie I am the food service Director. I was like o how lucky am I he finally fine the problem and fixed my car it happens Thad the battery was lose . Thank you Jessie you the best and I am sorry you had to be in the cold helping me .

I cant fairly review the entire facility as I dont know enough however, according to many residents I deal with, the Lincoln towncar that drives the residents around is embarrassing to said residents because its being used to advertise for the facility. It screams * I live in a retirement community and cant drive.* and in very public places at that. It embarrasses them and hurts their dignity. Isnt that one of the most important values in elderly care? Its tacky, distasteful, and cheap. Do your advertising elsewhere.
