We moved my dad into Commonwealth at Stratford House recently and the team there has been incredible. The building is immaculate, the staff is very caring -- espeically the director, Cherie -- and the vibe is friendly. Also, my dad is a veteran, and having the team at Stratford add him to their "Wall of Valor" has been very meaningful to him. He's in a nice apartment in independent living at Commonwealth; we hired an outside caregiver to come in and spend a couple hours a day with him to help with errands and manage his prescriptions, which is how we're able to make the independent living work for us. I'm very appreciative of the care and the community they offer at Commonwealth Stratford.

The staff is very caring at Stratford House. Executive Director Cherie Melton, her assistant Tricia, and resident care director Cassandra have been wonderful to work with. They have gone the extra mile to assist my mother and me. My mother is happy at Stratford. I have toured many other AL facilities and found Stratford to be the most beautiful and welcoming.

This review is dated March 23, 2025. I wish I could leave a better review and I can’t decide if three stars is too generous. But I want to believe that everyone is doing the best that they can. First off, I know my mother was Initially, extremely challenging And I appreciate the tolerance and patience they exhibited towards her.. But Generally for the nature of the business of elder care, my experience was less than what I hoped for, noting that I don’t feel that any of my expectations were unreasonable. My mother was a Residence of Commonwealth for a few months In late 2025 until I moved her to Assisted Living closer to me. during that time I had sent her some items which she never received. After several inquiries, I could not Even Determine if those items were delivered. Not until I was preparing to move her, did I find out They were withheld and I was Able to retrieve them. In addition, I found the managerial staff somewhat unresponsive in any timely manner. I was in need of certain types of documentation to transfer my mother to an assisted living in my state. I initiated the process roughly 3 weeks prior to the move. Three weeks later, I am on the phone texting and driving and calling Trying to get that Information. It was not until I was an hour away from our destination did I finally receive the information that I needed to move her in. And this is after several phone calls and emails During the previous three weeks from both myself and the new Assisted Living facility requesting that information. Even as recently as a weeks ago I sent an email asking for an expense report in order to file my mother’s taxes and never heard back. A week or so later I had to call the facility and spoke to somebody who forwarded my request to the business manager who Was I able to have that information emailed to me. The facility itself is Adequate and The general staff seemed to be friendly. A new facility my mother is and now stands out as I stark contrast. Very responsive very accommodating.

Such a friendly and professional staff across the board that do their best to make a home of comfort and great care for our loved ones. Dale Smith, awarded company wide Resident Program Director of the Year, and team put their hearts into engaging the residents with fun and varied activities. Resident Care Dir, Crystal, and Assistant, Liz, provide great medical care along with caring aides. Maintenance, housekeeping, dining, front desk and sales all work hard to provide a safe, clean, and caring environment.

I cannot say enough in praise of the staff and facility. I have had many experiences, both personally and professionally working with senior living facilities, but none have matched the caliber of Commonwealth. My mom was in the best of hands while a resident and when she passed, the staff went above and beyond in support of me and my family. The people at commonwealth made a true difference in the quality of her life, and for that I will be eternally thankful.

Would like to give 5 stars to Commonwealth Senior Living for the excellent care my father-in-law receives! All of the staff are so kind and caring. He especially loves the food! They have such fun activities and crafts for the residents! He is so loved there and has adjusted well to his new home!! They keep me informed if there are any concerns with him. We all know what they say about first impressions. I'm a skeptic and can hardly believe I'm giving a 4-star rating to a first-time visit to Stratford House. I was visiting to be introduced to a resident by the resident's family. With an eye for detail and a huge chip on my shoulder when it comes to wanting nothing but the best in elderly care, I am impressed with what I observed after arriving unexpected and after 7pm on a weekday. From the front desk and staff passed on elevators to the one who greeted me in the memory care center, the environment was very welcoming. There were just a few residents sitting in hallways, etc., and they each appeared well attended to. The parts of the facility that I saw looked super clean and also inviting.

We are so happy with the care my mother receives at Stratford House. She has a beautiful apartment and loves all of the fun activities. Every staff member is so kind and goes out of their way to make her comfortable. They welcome our family to visit any time, which is nice and if there's an activity happening, we're encouraged to join in. Their motto is "Welcome Home" and my mother has said many times that this feels like home. We are so happy that we chose Commonwealth Senior Living at Stratford House for our mother!

Stratford House is a special place! My Aunt has been in Stratford's assisted living for about 3 years and I dont think I've ever seen a more caring and invested staff. They truly care about my Aunt! The tone is set by Cherie Melton, the Director who is invested and excellent to work with. From there it goes through the staff including Crystal who texted me the other day that she was concerned about my Aunt and was arranging for a few tests. Talk about proactive and invested care. I was there last week and saw the Christmas show that was put on by the Activities Director and her friends. It was a full house and an incredibly heartwarming show that even included Santa and Mrs Clause handing out gifts at the end. During the show Adrika (sp) from the kitchen approached me to tell me how much she loves my Aunt. I have more and more examples. We were out for dinner and when we returned the staff kept engaging with my Aunt to see how her dinner went and almost everyone I met knew I was coming to town. I feel so good to know my Aunt is in the very capable hands of truly loving and invested caregivers. Thank you Stratford House, I know it's not easy!

Stratford has been a very good place for my mom to live for the past 5.5 years. She has a lovely independent living apartment, many dear friends, family nearby, and the security provided by the caring staff. She especially appreciates the housekeeping staff (kudos to Teresa!), the quick attention of the maintenance staff (kudos to Mark!), and the helpfulness of the front desk staff. Our extended family has always enjoyed visiting Mom at Stratford!

My mom has lived here for 2 years. She loves her room and her new friends. She is very peaceful at this facility and I don’t have to worry about her. She is independent living so she still does much for herself. The thing that she had struggled with the most is the food. She eats one meal a day in the evenings and the food is just not inviting. She has complained as I have but I think it’s just the way it will be ! If you can deal with that it’s a great place. And did I say very clean!
