My dad made RIVER ROAD his new home almost 3 years ago. This kind of change in life isn’t easy for anyone. But with the kind of support and compassion that was given to him by the PSW staff he felt very comfortable and secure in his new home. The staff is beyond caring and loving. The medical team, and the management team are ’%, supportive, always. The residence itself is very warm and cozy, feeling relaxed as soon as you walk in. The location is beyond perfect. On our beautiful river in Niagara Falls. The expansive outdoor patio looking at the view, with lots to see. I only wish my mother had a chance to make this her home also. She would’ve thrived with the care and lifestyle that River Road provides to all their residence. I truly hope you make River Road your choice.

My mother has been a resident at River Road for 3 years. I find nursing staff to be attentive, caring and responsive to her needs. Management staff are consistently available and offer compassionate and caring solutions to any issue she may have. I have also found that the cost for her services are quite reasonable and offer tremendous value compared to competitors that I have researched. Mother loves the food and our family have peace of mind knowing that she is well cared for. Thank you RRRR!

My mother has been at River Road Retirement since July of last year and she is loving it! We are pleased with the care she is getting and continues to get everyday! She has made many friends and loves the recreational activities they provide. The staff is amazing .. they are hard working, and genuinely care about their residents. Very pleased with River Road Residence facilities, staff and management. The location is picturesque, facilities are well maintained, modern yet cozy and makes adapted living easy. The staff is friendly and compassionate always respectful, timely in their assistance and care. The management is readily available, open to suggestions and questions... easing any concerns. I had the opportunity to spend 5 weeks at this facility for respite care after my knee surgery. It was amazing. The room was excellent, the staff beyond amazing as they did nightly checks to see if I needed anything, the food was excellent, good variety and served by excellent servers. The whole experience was so positive compared to another facility I had booked but left early as they were a -1 compared to this facility. Everyone was friendly and highly professional and the residents I met were so warm and friendly. I was warmly received on day one by the administrator and head nurse. It is just a fabulous facility. I would give it a 10 without question!!

We just moved my mother from one private residence to River Road. The transition to River Road has been amazing! Jan was our first point of contact and has stayed with us as we get to know the processes and learn to navigate the system to best serve our mother. She is a strong communicator, gets things done quickly, and is a tremendous advocate for the residents and their families. We were so impressed that within just a few days staff were addressing my mother by name. There is a feeling of caring and warmth that exudes from all staff that you have to see firsthand to believe. Our family can finally relax with the knowledge that our mother is well cared for, and be confidant that if she has difficulty we will be informed. It is the little things that we are witnessing that make this residence so impressive. Whether it's a PSW straightening a resident's shirt in the elevator with a smile, or a few kind words and the holding of a hand as they are passing by. It is definitely the home with heart! We are so appreciative. 🙂

Jan was informative and helped me through every step of the transitional process. Once my grandfather moved in, he immediately wanted to stay. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place . My grandfather stayed in the transitional room for over a month while we waited for long term care to be available. The staff was amazing , attentive to all his needs and went above and beyond to provide the best care for him. The process of papper work was handled by Jan smith ( care director) and she made us feel like family as she walked us through the process , we couldn’t have had a better person for the job !!! The nurses, psw & front desk staff we were amazing ! The rooms are clean & the building is well taken care and always updating to make the building an enjoyable place to be in. The activities of bingo, cards,entertainment, live music, and arts crafts, and so many more enjoyable things this residential home has to offer are endless. I will forever be grateful for the wonderful care that was provided to my grandfather during his stay with the River Road Retirement Residence . My mother just moved to River Road Retirement Residence (RRRR) on July 13. She is currently going through the transition period. As you can imagine the family is very concern for our mother during this time. The staff at RRRR totalling understand our anxiety around our mother adjusting. They have gone above and beyond to assure us that she is in good hands. They ensure our mother is given opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, socialize and enjoy the entertainment on site. A special thanks to Jan for sharing pictures of our mother outside socializing with old friends. Thank you to the team at RRRR for helping to improve the quality of my mother's life. I am so grateful to all of you. P.s. A reminder to all families during COVID lockdown the staff's number one priority is to protect our loved ones. So if you show up and can't get in don't take your frustrations out on the staff. They are just doing their jobs. An update my mother is receiving much more personal attention and social interaction from the staff at RRRR. As a result we all feel like our mother is back. Our visits are very enjoyable as we can clearly see she is happy.

My father went to River Road as a transition placement. He stayed 6 months until he was admitted to hospital. The entire staff at River Road is professional and extremely kind. I always felt well informed of my father's condition. My father had a special relationship with his PS W's. I cannot recommend this care facility enough. They treated my father with a great deal of dignity at the end of his life.

My parents spent two years living at River Road Retirement Residence. They moved there from their home where they lived for the past 48 years. It was quite an adjustment for them but the staff helped to make my mom and dad feel at home. I am thankful for the thoughtfulness and care that my parents received during their residency there. I also felt my parents were safe and in capable hands at River Road with the handling of the Covid 19 crisis. I would recommend River Road Residence to anyone looking for a retirement home.

My family was recently looking for some options for my mom who had very complex care requirements. The staff at River Road were amazing to deal with and very willing to work with our requirements beyond our highest expectations. Kudos to Jan and Shelley for taking the time to explain everything about their home and provided us the time to tour the facility and ask lots of questions. We actually had two tours and we asked a lot of repetitive questions. Being very new to this experience we were somewhat unsure of what to expect however when dealing with Shelley and Jan they were able to put our fears to rest and were also very practical with suggestions. They did not make promises they could not keep and were able to highlight any potential concerns for myself and my family to discuss further. In the end the arrangements for mom did not result in her coming to River Road Retirement Residence through no fault of anyone. And certainly not from lack of effort on behalf of the management and staff. Although we needed to make other arrangements for our mom we would highly recommend this retirement home as an excellent option for many seniors in the Niagara Region and beyond. There are not enough nice things to say about our experience. Thank you kindly Shelley and Jan, my family will always be grateful for the patience and the compassion you both shared with us.

Our family has had two separate experiences with RRR. Our Father (2016) and our Mother (2019) both spent several weeks at RRR Transitional Program between hospital stay and long term care. We found the staff and management to be very friendly, polite, professional, and caring. The level of care is comparable to other long term care facilities. The only area of improvement (which believe may have since been rectified with renovations) is that there wasn't a accessible shower/bath for the 10 transitional rooms on the first floor. The rest of the facility is a retirement home and in speaking with residents and their families, they seemed very content with RRR. The food was good and the facility clean. Highly recommend.

I have to say what a wonderful environment RR is. My mom was there and was extremely happy with the service she got from her personal care ,social events to the food she ate on a regular basis. They kitchen staff was very accomdating to her dietary needs and always provided her with choices . The frontline staff were very friendly and genuinely concerned for my mother on a regular basis. Dealing with administration from the time I walk in and get greeted by Jan to dealing with Shelly for my moms care planning and other arrangements were so rays to do. As a Family member I was very relieved to know that my mom was in a safe , caring and social environment. I really would not have to worry as my moms needs were cared for and attended on a regular basis. They would always deal with issues or concerns but contacted us when needed. River Road is a lovely, boutique Retirement Residence. My Mother first went into Transitional Care at River Road, but we are hoping she can stay as a permanent resident. The atmosphere is pretty and cozy. The food is very good. The view of the Niagara Gorge is stunning. But what really sets River Road apart from everywhere else we've looked is the staff. From the Directors of Care (Shelley and Carol) to the Life Enrichment Manager (Jan) to the Kitchen staff, the dedication to my Mother's care is beyond anything I hoped for. And then there are the angels in the building: the Caregivers, whose exceptional kindness and care have touched our family deeply. We are so grateful to have found such a loving home for our Mother.
