The Lodge life has well thought out activities & planned events. The staff make the difference and they strive to make the residents feel at home. There are meals that are diverse and provide wellness but there is always an optional choice for pickier eaters.

My 86 year old Mother fell and fractured her arm. I live in Alberta so Mom was in the hospital for nearly a week until I could get here. It happened over Easter weekend and could not make arrangements until I arrived but talked to Jon at Conestoga Lodge to see if they had a room for respite care over Easter, as that's what my mother wanted to go until she could manage on her own. It is her second respite stay at Conestoga Lodge. Jon was very responsive and so helpful. All the staff have been great. We moved the room around many times for the best comfort for Mom. She could not get comfortable in a chair so they brought her in an electric recliner. Staff is so caring and attentive. You are part of the Conestoga lodge Family. Thank-you everyone.

I had only ever heard fantastic things about Conestoga Lodge so when I required a place for a respite stay for an ill relative I knew exactly where I wanted him to go. Unfortunately, the social worker at Grand River Hospital informed me that Conestoga Lodge's respite rooms were already full and that they had no current availability for respite stays. Devastated I started calling other places to make alternate plans. I decided that I would start my relative at another facility and then move home to Conestoga Lodge when a room opened. When I spoke with Jon about when a room would become available, I was floored to find out that he had gone out of his way to make up an extra respite room for my relative so that he could go there upon his discharge from hospital. This was the beginning of the immense kindness and special care I experienced from everyone at Conestoga Lodge. Everyone consistently went out of their way to welcome us and try and make my relative comfortable and happy. Personal aides went out of their way to help my relative groom himself and give him dignity, nurses closely monitored him and quickly reported all concerns to me, dietary aides adjusted his diet so that he was satisfied with his meals. I have many examples of the exceptional care from my relative's short time there. All the staff were always welcoming and looking for ways to improve my relative's experience. I know that moving to a retirement home was not something that my relative wanted but the kindness that was shown to him helped to make the thought of that transition easier. Sadly, he passed away prior to that permanent transition. However, I will never forget the stellar service I experienced during my daily visits, and I will forever be grateful to the staff of Conestoga Lodge. I know for many places when they say, "it feels like family" that those are just empty words, but I can attest that this is truly how you are treated when you are there. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this facility to anyone who is thinking about moving into a retirement home or requires a respite stay.

I have just spent 2 weeks at Conestoga Lodge in Kitchener for convalescent care. I couldn't have asked for better care from everyone. They were very attentive and made sure my needs were looked after. I highly recommend Conestoga Lodge.

Feb. 10/23 My Godmother lived at Conestoga Retirement Lodge in a lovely suite for the last 15 years of her life, from age 86 in 200 , celebrating both her 90 th Birthday there in 2010 with relatives and friends and then her 100th Birthday in 2020, until she passed on there shortly before her 101st Birthday. She was an independent spirit to the end and appreciated the care she received there. I enjoyed our visits there over the years. Jessie MacIsaac

Just 2 words to describe the lodge. Very disappointed. Poor food. Staff overworked. Total lack of communication. There is no retirement residence out there that rates five stars. Remember these are all for profit organizations. Profit being the number one concern. The care is there as long as the money is. Other wise your out of luck.

Our Dad has been a resident for over 3 years. We can't say enough about the wonderful staff and excellent care he has received. Despite all the extra demands of Covid, staff have remained cheerful and always happy to help.
June 2022
Absolutely top notch, caring, wonderful staff. The level of care was superb. Food was quite good. My father began suffering from some health problems, but they went over and above to attempt to meet his needs. Considering the extra burdens and restrictions because of Covid, it was especially noteworthy.

Family - that is the first word that comes to mind when I think about Conestoga Lodge. My mom was welcomed to her new home 4 years ago. She receives personalized care, support from this extended family. YES - extended family - management, staff and PSWs... all help to make her new home memorable and offer support to her immediate family. Management has always been accessible; by phone or email. Nurses, Recreation directors and support staff offer personal care too. The autonomous, semi-autonomous and fuller care programs allow for family members to better decide what level of attention is needed. I highly recommend this Retirement Residence should you be seeking a new home for a family member.

Conestoga Lodge Retirement is everything we have hoped for. My brother has been at the lodge for almost 12years. The staff has been nothing but professional to him and his needs throughout. They are in constant contact with us as family if any need arises. He is so comfortable in his surroundings at the lodge, from the food to the exercise, entertainment and the health care provided. If you are looking for a comfortable well maintained and caring lodge for your loved one I would highly recommend Conestoga Lodge.

My mother has been a resident at Conestoga Lodge for two years. She enjoys the warm friendly atmosphere, provided by kind, caring, patient, competent staff. She finds the meals appetising and appreciates the variety and choice of menu offered. Throughout these difficult times, the communication from administration has been timely and clear. As a family member, I feel well informed about the ongoing status and adjustments being made. My mother is comfortable and content and I am confident in the care she is receiving. We are grateful she is in such good hands.

I am very proud to have worked at Conestoga Lodge for 19 years, 12 of those years as Administrator. What stands out to me most about working for Conestoga Lodge, is the dedication and commitment of the staff and owner. This is an exceptional home for residents and an excellent employer for staff. From the time you walk in, the staff make you feel welcome and safe. You can be sure your loved ones are well cared for.

Conestoga Lodge is definitely a "Home away from Home"' The staff are very attentive and caring for each of their residents' As a person who has had a family member there, they welcomed you and make you feel very comfortable as soon as you enter the residence. Also willing to answer any questions that you may have. I have also been a volunteer there and have felt part of the team. They always greet you with a smile. Julie

My Dad has been living at Conestoga Lodge for a year and a half now. I visit him nearly every day and for that reason, I believe I can write an honest and accurate review. It was a big adjustment for my Dad but all staff helped us through the transition. Moreover, they helped me through the adjustment - lol!! And, he is happier than he has been in years! All employees from housekeeping, kitchen staff, nurses to management have all been wonderful. I have personally dealt with Paul and I can tell you that he truly cares. He is sincere and has true integrity. I have also eaten at Conestoga Lodge (Christmas dinners, Family BBQs, Lunches with my Dad) and the meals are tasty and there is always a good variety. There is a range of activities to participate in and there is something for everyone. The Event Coordinators, Bridget and Carling are equally wonderful, always happy and uplifting. All the nurses have been so kind and accommodating as well. So, a big thank you to Conestoga Lodge for creating a lovely home for my Dad and giving us a great piece of mind knowing that Dad is well cared for.

Our mother had been quite sick in hospital and was unable to walk. While we waited for placement in Long term care she went to Conestoga Lodge. Her stay of 5 weeks was amazing! They got her walking on her walker again. She ate great food. Her life spirit came back. She started doing to activities and concerts. The people who worked there were so supportive and friendly. We are very grateful for everything they did for our Mom and family.
