I was fortunate to enjoy a trial stay with V!VA Thornhill Woods while my home underwent repairs from a flood. The staff were fantastic and all knew my name within days. The facilities were terrific. I especially liked having the gym on site. I enjoyed playing pool and getting to know the other residents. The food was delicious too. Should I decide to make a permanent move to retirement living V!VA Thornhill Woods will be my next home.

I stayed at Viva Thornhill Woods Retirement Home for a two week respite for hip replacement. The entire staff was extremely friendly checking that all was going well. The PSWs were compassionate, attentive, and available to calls. My favorite PSW was Lina. She was so caring and went beyond her call of duty. Not only helping me when it was required, but made my bed and assisted me with getting dressed. Please make sure that Lina continuous to work at Viva! I would not hesitate to consider Viva Thornhill Woods as a place to live for retirement. They have excellent activities to suit all needs, too. Thank you, Viva. Phyllis Robins

I got to visit VIVA Thornhill Woods for the RHRA Resident Champion Award ceremony. I loved community feel and the warm atmosphere. I had the chance to go for a tour and was impressed by the diversity of spaces in the home - from the pub and cafe, to the horticulture room and theatre, to the pool and gym.

We had the pleasure of working with Viva Retirement Community to assist with moves for some of their residents, as well as participate in their annual Season of Lights event. From start to finish, Jill and the team at Viva has been outstanding, They are organized, welcoming, and genuinely care about their residents’ needs. It’s always a joy to collaborate with a community that values both comfort and connection for its residents, and Viva goes above and beyond to create a warm and supportive environment. I recently visited a friend here. I was very impressed by every person on the staff who I met. Each person was genuinely caring and professional. I enjoyed a lovely lunch served by attentive and friendly dining room staff. The food was delicious (especially the home-made soup) and so beautifully presented that I took a picture.

A couple of month ago my mom came to visit us for a month. We chose to host her at Viva since the facility was much more convenient and prepared for her (no stairs and no bathtub to climb). She not only enjoyed her stay and welcomed us with coffee in every opportunity we picked her up, but also made good friends who invited her to seat with them for lunch or dinner, even though she spoke little English. She enjoyed very much the food, the musical events and the quiet of her spacious room. We all enjoyed the swimming pool with her and felt welcome all the time. Thank you, Wendy and all the staff at Viva Thornhill Woods for taking good care of her!

I cannot say enough about everyone who works at the community (from maintence, dining room, concierge, health care, sales and administration).They have all shown themselves to be people who are warm, caring, welcoming, supportive and responsive to their residents in every way. I could never have found more for my father, who has truly appreciated all of the efforts to make him feel welcome and a part of the community in short order. Awesome group!!!!

Viva Thornhill Woods met all of my families expectations and more about retirement living. From the first phone call with Wendy the Community Relations Manager my parents were at ease. The tour and lunch were great, Wendy made sure to answer all of our questions and even introduced us to others. My in-laws are looking forward to moving into their new home.

In summer of 2021 my mother in her 93rd year said to me, "I'm ready to move into a Seniors' home. I immediately began to research the homes in the GTA. I narrowed my search down to three homes, shared my findings with mom and we both agreed on visiting the three homes. We started out with the home closest to my mom's surrounding and after visiting the 2nd home my mom felt she was satisfied with our meeting and with what the home had to offer therefore she would settle for the 2nd home. We however had the 3rd appointment which was to meet with Viva's representative, I suggested to my mom that we go since we had already booked the meeting. Both my mom and I are so happy we did, because she knew right away Viva was the place she wanted to call home. Our experiences have been very positive from our first meeting to my mom moving in. Our contacts with staff members have always been responsive and there's always immediate attention to any query we might have. They've extended themselves to ensure my mother feels she's in a safe, friendly and responsible community. Their attention to the handling of COVID and its variant OMICRAN, according to Public Health guidelines has been remarkable. The place is clean, warm and inviting. Viva Thornhill Woods stand by their value of "Making Today Great". I know where I want to live when it's my turn to look for Seniors' living. A big thank you to the staff of Viva Thornhill Woods Retirement Community!

When the time was right our mother took the initiative to tour retirement homes and make her choice. Our tour with Wendy at Viva Thornhill Woods was thorough and informative with lots of time for questions. The facilities include a swimming pool, fitness room, hair salon, cafe, lounge, movie theatre, spacious lobby, library, etc. Her 1 bedroom suite is bright and functional. The main dining room is well appointed with modern furnishings. Medical needs can be handled independently or administered at the nurses station. Overall, the transition from an independent lifestyle to a retirement home community (with an independent lifestyle) went very well with minimal stress and we are pleased with our choice!

I think we toured 10 other residences before selecting Viva. It was actually a pretty easy decision, as Viva stood out in so many ways. The main areas are bright and always full of people and activities. The many food options at each meal was a great bonus (although I think I'd just have the blintzes every day). Mom's room is bright and cheery. From the start, Wendy was another big part of our choice. I have always found her to be knowledgeable, supportive and helpful. She always went above and beyond to make sure that mom was happy. And of course - that great smile of hers. Initially, mom did have some difficulty settling in to her new home, but Wendy and all the other staff were always there to help (both mom and me). It makes me so happy now to talk to mom and hear her say "I just love living here at Viva". Thanks to all the Viva staff for making that possible.
