We recently moved my Dad into The Stafford Assisted Living Facility. It is on the lower level of the building and there are just 12 spots available. We were on a waitlist for a few months and feel quite lucky to have gotten in. We have been there just five weeks and could not be more happy with the choice. My dad's past facility was as expensive but never provided even half the care he now gets at The Stafford. I wish we'd moved him earlier. The staff are all very attentive, kind, effective and respectful. The medical team works in concert with his healthcare providers and is very in tune with his medical as well as other needs. It is a terrific place! Even though he's in assisted living, he eats in the restaurant and participates in any of the independent living activities without any problems. People are friendly. There are so many activities, lots of well-behaved dogs, lots of music and the food is good. I highly recommend The Stafford and suggest you get your family on a waitlist if you are considering Assisted Living within the next year.

We've known several people who lived here before. Looks nice from the outside, rooms look nice, property looks nice, hallways look nice. But, there are often issues with getting food to residents. Residents who need the food brought to them in their room for whatever reason oftentimes have a hard time getting the food brought to them. Either the kitchen is closed, the kitchen is getting ready for a large event, or they're closed for a holiday and don't have staff or they are focusing on the residents who can make it to the kitchen. This often leaves the residents who are unable to make it to the kitchen or the events, or who need food after hours, hungry and having a hard time getting food unless they know someone from outside the Stafford retirement community who can bring them food. It's extremely expensive for residents to live here, and for the exorbitant price they are charging this is absolutely unacceptable. Also, most of their event dinners are full of unhealthy foods. If residents have heart issues, diabetes or other things which require them to healthy they are oftentimes left making the choice to risk their health and eat unhealthy or go hungry during the holidays or during holiday meal events. Again, for the price they're charging this is unacceptable. And I know some of their also expensive competitors who have been in business longer in other parts of the Portland area do not have this problem. Also, a lot of the activities they do there for the residents have not a lot of thought put into them. Again, I know some of the competition has better events planned both at the facility and for field trips the residents can take. You can probably do worse than living here if you are looking for a retirement community. But make no mistake, for the price they're going to charge you, you could definitely do better if you look around. This is definitely not a retirement community I would ever recommend any of my family live at.

My parents recently moved to Stafford Retirement Community on Overlook. The staff has been incredible. They could not be more supportive and welcoming. They eagerly make any accommodation they can and respond promptly to all questions. My parents have been grateful and are very happy they made the move, which makes my entire family happy as well.

My grandparents live at the stafford and very much enjoy the lively and social atmosphere they were searching for. We have brought our family there to visit many times and enjoy our time, whether it's in their apartment, the bistro or the melange restaurant- our experiences have been wonderful.

Started working at The Stafford 3 months ago and not once have I second guessed the decision. Such a wonderful place to work. Management is so involved and great with communication. Residents are active and happy. Resident activities are great and are keeping everyone active. I love it at the The Stafford.

Just dropped in for brunch at their restaurant. It is open to the public. The food was very nice. One of our group said it was the best clam chowder he ever had! Loved the quieter atmosphere and a little slower pace for socializing with the people I took there.
