My mother-in-!law has been here for a couple of years. During that time, her health has gone downhill. She is 93 years old and has incontinence. In the beginning, she was okay, cause she was able to speak up for herself. Today we called to let them know that we are getting her at about 11 a.m. to take her out for Mother's day. We helped her in the car, and as we were putting her wheelchair in the back, three of us was hit with the putrid smell of urine. The blue cushion, a disposable chuck, and a towel was all soaked and marinating in urine. The wheelchair seat was encrusted with dried urine, salty particles. The wheelchair itself had joints of rust, where it was wet and never wiped down. The putridness was unbearable. We had to put things inside a black trash bag. Once we got to the restaurant, I took her to the bathroom right away. Her pants was wet with urine and her pad was full. Sad to say that she sat in that the whole meal as she did not have extra clothes. This must be something that is normal to her as she did not complain about her wetness. This makes me emotional as this is not very dignified. The amount of money we pay for this place is not measley. Once we got back, I asked to speak to the caregivers I pleaded with them to clean her more, to clean her wheelchair and accessories at least once a week. One of the caregivers, LIlo(?)? Was so disrespectful to me. She stood there making faces like I shouldn't be taken seriously. She kept blaming everyone else, and not taking her part of my mother-in-law's care seriously. This makes me wonder how she cares for the residents. Is she as disrespectful, leaving people with no dignity, and letting them sit in their urine the whole day to marinate and soak in it, and just have endless excuses when confronted? With the way she treated me, I can see her the same way with the residents if they ask her to be changed. Maybe that's why my mother in law stopped asking and is now resigned to being wet? I want to say to her, Lilo, that cushion, towel, and crusty salty urine on the wheelchair seat is not a product of a night. That has been soaked, dried, and soaked repeatedly for weeks. As you yourself turned away from the stench and putridness of it when I took it out of the black trash bag, you couldn't say anything cause you know the truth if it. Remy, LVN in charge,and the other Filipino caregivers offered their apologies, and I appreciated that, but I wonder if they will take my request seriously. It seems like their heart is in it to help. But maybe they need more caregivers in this place. I'm writing it here in this review,, so I remember what happened today in this very expensive place, as my husband writes their check monthly. I will keep an eye on this, and will change the rating if this issue improves.

I have lived at the Rancho Bernardo Remington Club for 3 years now. It was good when I moved in and it has gotten better ever since. There has been remodeling, and upgraded landscaping, and continued excellent variety of activities. The present Executive Director and Food Services Director have made welcome improvements. The residents are friendly and my apartment is large and comfortable. The location is ideal with a big plaza right across the sreet.

The campus is beautiful, and the staff are incredibly attentive and truly care about the well-being of the seniors. The transition from Five Star/Aleris Life is applauded for both residents and employees. The Executive Director was a great choice for the future of the community. He is warm and caring to both staff and residents. If you want to experience a fabulous activity department, attend one of the many activities campus wide. One of the best teams in the industry. Within the AL department, you have tenure staring from the administrator to the care team. All around great place. Would highly recommend as part of your planning for the next chapter of life.

Bill has brought fresh energy, creativity, and an inspiring spirit to the dining program, and the results speak for themselves. The changes to the weekly menus have been incredibly well-received by residents. We’re seeing a wider variety of dishes, improved quality, and an overall elevation in flavor and presentation. From comforting favorites to exciting new options, every meal now feels thoughtfully crafted and truly enjoyable. In addition to the menu enhancements, the dining room itself has seen noticeable improvements. The atmosphere is more welcoming, and mealtimes now feel like a special occasion rather than just part of the routine. My husband and I brought my parents for a tour at The Remington Club this week. We met with Jeanne Selis and she took the time to really listen and understand our questions and concerns. The tour was not only impressive but so much fun. My parent were dreading this day but now are hopeful, and can't wait to be part of this community. Jeanne worked out a great deal because they can't get in until March but she was able to secure their apartment. We couldn't be happier. The residents are so friendly and took the time to introduce themselves to my parents while we were all having lunch in the dining room. I had no idea it would go so well. My beloved aunt and uncle moved into The Remington Club several weeks ago and could not be happier, for the community meets all of their needs. Visiting them today with my parents, who I hope will consider moving in as well, my wife and I were truly moved by the community's sales director, Jeanne, who not only came in on her scheduled day off to give us an extensive tour, but also treated us to a lovely lunch in the newly remodeled dining hall. More impressive still was Jeanne's passion for assisting others, particularly those of advancing years, which was evident in the way she highlighted the grounds and positively interacted with guests along the way, all of whom were pleased to see her. Truly, the Remington Club offers excellent value for the money, and appears warm and welcoming at every turn. Finally, the grounds are beautifully maintained, making it a pleasure to behold, particularly the established trees and flower gardens, which are accented by flowing pools of water. Were my wife and I twenty years older, we would certainly consider living at the Remington Club ourselves.

The pleasure of writing this review is all mine. I have found the Remington Club to be everything I wanted. I feel as though I am living in a 5 star Hotel. I have been here over a year and love my apt. It is spacious and very comfortable. Its handy to have a full washer /dryer in the Unit. Dishwasher to.. and more ---all the equipment to make ur life easy. I can cook or not. the choice is mine. I have made new friends here and we all are here because we want to be. I know friends who went to Assisted living and are doing well. It's nice to have it - no reason to move. I enjoy all that Remington offers- - daily activities -- exercise - movies - theater - games - outings - restaurants - holiday parties...etc. It's all fun... Anita Kimball

Sometimes in a large facility or community, individual benefits, such as Transportation, are taken for granted or not given proper accolades when due. My mother, who is wheelchair bound, required weekly clinical appointments for over two and a half years. In addition, she had other dental and medical issues requiring in office appointments. This review is to offer our sincere heartfelt thanks and kudos to Mr. Marshall Spencer, the Director of Transportation, for always being on time, always being warm and caring, planning all the complex details, never having to wait for a return pickup for more than a few short minutes, and for getting us safely from assisted living living to the appointment and back. Marshall is a true gentleman, and the consummate professional. His concerns over the safety and comfort of mom (and myself, as I accompanied her to all appointments) were paramount and he always was efficient, thoughtful and kind. Marshall has a staff of drivers who are equally professional and caring and we always knew we were in good hands. When one gets into their own car to run errands, we don't think twice. But when the complexities of a wheelchair become involved, one learns quickly who you can rely upon. Marshall Spencer is a five star employee, an outstanding human being, and has been an immeasurable asset to The Remington Club for about 10 years. He also coordinated the shopping trips and other excursions which were sadly reduced by covid. If you are able to drive around town with Marshall or one of his staff of drivers, you are indeed, lucky. We are grateful that Marshall made the transportation element of a very complex health issue a "ride in the park". We will always be appreciative of his kindness and professionalism. I recently took the opportunity to visit Remington Club for a few days. I found the facility to be quiet, and very comfortable. my room was nicely decorated, and everything I needed was there. I was greeted cheerfully, by Alexus, and made to feel welcome and at home. I also took advantage of the lovely restaurant. Chef Mike is Devine. The food was delicious. Ana was the perfect hostess as well.

My husband and I became residents of the Assisted Living Building at Remington Club on 8/2/22. We chose RC because of its proximity to our son and family who live in 4 S Ranch. I chose RC/AL because my husband has a progressive neurological diagnosis. I wanted more help for him and I wanted us to live together. Our apartment is large and wonderful. We are very happy here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The activities offered are fun and we enjoy participating. We have used the Activity Room for private family times. I wish the caregivers had more colleagues..they seem stretched at times. The building itself shows age and could use touch up refurbishing etc. Right now both washing machines are out and we expect new ones soon. I wish that had happened sooner. We know we made a good choice coming to RC/Al and hope to stay here for a long time, as long as the stars line up for us!

The hardest part of making a move to an independent living facility is helping a loved one realize it is time. Once that decision is made, Jeanne Selis at The Remington Club makes everything else easy. We have been trying to convince our sister (-in-law) to move to an independent living facility for over 3 years. She was increasingly unable to do simple housekeeping, walk up and down the stairs to the condo she lived in for over 30 years, and was becoming isolated as friends were unwilling to help or visit her. Finally, things came to a head this year when a serious health issue reappeared that weakened her further, resulting in her needing even a greater amount of assistance. She lived 40 miles away from us so helping to do a simple thing like taking her to a doctor visit was a 5 “ 6 hour commitment. We took her to The Remington Club in February for a tour, but she was still resistant to make a change. It is hard for one to admit they need help, but by mid-June she was ready. Anyone who has helped a loved one with a major life change knows the importance of striking while the iron is hot. In this case it meant securing movers, buying some replacement pieces of furniture, and helping our sister (-in-law) adjust to her new life all within a few weeks. Jeanne helped make all these details easy. She gave us referrals to several moving companies who are familiar with The Remington Club. We were able to schedule Help-U-Move on short notice. They packed and moved everything and the move for our sister (-in-law) was fast and flawless. We planned to pick up a few pieces of replacement furniture at Jerome’s prior to move in. Upon hearing this, Jeanne gave us a contact at Jerome’s who works with seniors and understands their needs. We were also able to get a discount on the furniture due to an arrangement The Remington Club has with Jerome’s. All the furniture was delivered and setup before move in. Jeanne also worked with us from our initial visit in February until a decision was made to move, keeping us apprised of apartments that were available that would meet our sister (-in-law’s) needs. Jeanne was able to get her a nice apartment on the ground floor, with a garden view, that was close to all the common areas. With all her belongings and new furniture in place, It’s beautiful was the first reaction of our sister (-in-law) as she walked into her Remington Club apartment for the first time. She is only 5 minutes away from us which makes it easier to give her the support she needs. The Remington Club provides weekly housekeeping, activities, transportation, and meal services. Our sister (-in-law) has made several new friends starting the very first week she was there. How does she feel now that she has been there for 2-1/2 months? We were leaving after a visit and out of the blue our sister (-in-law) said I really like it here. I thought a place like this would have people in wheelchairs abandoned in the hallways. But everyone here is friendly and active. Even the people with rollators are walking around and doing things. All the things Jeanne Selis promised The Remington Club would be. Patti & Alex R.

They were very accommodating of our visits and became friends over the time he was in their care. Nancy, Dr. Singh, Denny, Michelle and Fran in particular were especially kind and helpful. Dr. Singh reminded us of what a good, caring doctor can be; we were all impressed and comforted by his heart and mind. Nancy kindly welcomed us on our visits, sometimes telling us personal stories about her journey during her parents’ final days. The Remington Club has been an amazing home for 2 generations of our family. My Grandmother lived there the last years of her life in Independent & Assisted Living. When choosing an independent living community for my father we knew it could only be Remington. Not only are the grounds and living areas well maintained & manicured, the food is delicious and there are MANY activities to choose from every day. The Staff is so involved and attentive to not only the residents, but to their loved ones as well. The constant updates that have been circulated during the Pandemic to residents & family helped to maintain an unprecedented level of safety & health during this difficult year. I would choose Remington again & again for a senior living community for anyone I love.

The Remington Club has been more than what we have expected over the past 5 years. We have now been here almost 7 years and this past, our 5th year, has been taken up entirely with Covid-19. That has, indeed, been a most eventful year. It would take up a couple pages to tell you what everyone did to make us comfortable and happy. From the top position, right down to the lowest position on the scale, they pulled together in an extremely positive way. The ups and downs they had, as well as us, appear to be behind all of us and we can once again look forward to a bright future here at The Remington Club. There is a very broad menu daily, and the chefs sure know how to cook fine dishes. There skills are Class A. Entertainment keeps us happy, and the staff, always available, attend to all our needs. In conclusion, allow me to help you decide to move here as soon as you can. We are a very friendly bunch of people....

Everything worked out well. It took some patience on Jane Navas' part because I was pretty picky on what I wanted in a retirement community apartment. I was coming from two years in an individual patio home at Wesley Palms Retirement Community in Pacific Beach with a view of the Ocean so I needed to be certain that an apartment would be large enough and appropriate for such a change. We finally agreed that 1st floor with a view of the Rose Garden would suffice. So Jane had to work hard to find what would satisfy me. Give her some extra credit because I am no slam dunk dude, but a retired 25-year mustang submarine lieutenant commander.

I had a 5 star experience The medical staff, nurses and PT team were top notch and assisted me in every way possible on my journey to recovery. Every day my room was cleaned and bed/pillows fluffed. The chefs did their best to accommodate my culinary needs as my taste buds were way off I highly recommend The Remington Club when the need arises for excellent care in a beautiful and supportive environment’•

I’ve been a frequent visitor to Remington Club for several years. I’ve had friends and family members stay here. Currently my Great Aunt, retired US Airforce, is staying at the skilled nursing facility and soon moving to the assisted living facility. In the past two weeks I’ve been here several times per week. Everyone here is helpful. Your visit starts with a lovely lady beaming with a delightful mood settling smile. Her name is Nancy Bragg and I will be coming to say hello to her after my aunt is moved to the assisted living facility next door. As you walk past Nancy’s station you notice how clean and comfortable everything is. There are many people working here and they’re all very helpful and attentive. The bedside care here is extraordinary, the food is great and they can easily customize the care to anyone’s needs. Thanks Nancy, Nathan, Sophany and Iris for a great experience.

I came here for recovery from double knee replacement surgery. Never been in a skilled nursing facility as a patient. I arrived after hours. The person at the front desk welcome to me new my name knew where I was going to go and that started the beginning of a wonderful time at the Remington. Got into my room and the first thing they asked has had I had dinner yet. The answer was no their kitchen was closed but they had already saved a dinner for me. There are many departments and the employees of each are fantastic. Doctors, nurses, nurses assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, housekeeping, administration. Every person in every department was kind, patient, enthusiastic but understanding. The food is great. I had to consciously stop eating all the food they serve me. The care and actual rehabilitation is fantastic. If you have the option of the Remington, take it.

I moved in the last day of August 2019 and am settled in comfortably. I feel I have been welcomed by residents and staff alike A wide variety of activities are available and .I have been able to participate in the exercise program and found it to be helpful . Questions have usually been answered promptly by the concierge or other staff as well as the residents. I feel part of the community. I have had some computer problems and Diana has come to offer assistance in a professional manner. I did know two people prior to moving here but have found it easy to make new friends and acquaintances. All in all, I am glad to be here and participate as I am able. Donovan Myers 314

I've visited many skilled nursing facilities with being a caregiver. The Remington Club is by far the best. From the front desk to the nurses I would gladly recommend this facility above all. They go the extra mile to make sure the patient is taken care of and comfortable in their new well maintained environment. The facility is also kept very clean both outside and in.

I had a spinal fusion at Scripts Hospital in Encinitas.I was a little wobbly at discharge time so they suggested rehab for a week or two. I was a little apprehensive about it after hearing horror stories of some places. I took 7 days of rehab and arrived in a wheelchair and left under my own power. This place was nothing like that. Choose your mals in advance from a wide variety of food and it's very good food as well. The staff is great all positive, not a bad apple in the bunch. The therapy sessions are great and they take great care in the right exercises for each individual. I'm glad I took this week after my hospital stay. The therapy staff taught me some great tricks for recovery. I'm more than happy to give them 5 stars.

My mom was brought to the Remington Club after a week stay in the hospital. We were nervous because she had an awful experience at a previous rehabilitation place 2 years ago. However, her visit at The Remington Club has been absolutely amazing. All staff from Admin, to clerical, maintenance crew and Nursing were all above par. Everyone was very attentive, kind and helpful. When my mom had a bad day due to her being sick Dante, her nurse and the CNA never left her side. Mom calls them her Angles. In addition to the staff, the food was excellent and the facility was very clean. Mom was only here 5 days even though it was originally a week. I hope we don’t have to bring her back again but if we did, The Remington Club would be the place. Thank you to ALL of the staff there for taking care of my mother as well as you did

After having gotten up to go pee, at 4:30 in the morning I sustained a fall. As a result of this fall, I broke the largest bone in my body - the upper leg bone (femur). To fix it, they inserted a rod in the middle of the bone from my hip down to my knee. Then they put a nail through the rod and up in my pelvis. Not fun. After I was discharged from the hospital, I still needed skilled nursing care as well as Physical therapy and Occupational therapy. I was so delighted to find the Remington Club. The staff was professional, gentle, and very kind. They knew what they were doing as they frequently see patients with the same condition as mine. In short order (2 days), they had managed my pain and had me up and walking with the help of the staff and a walker. While it took some time to get me independent, the folk at Remington Club were wonderful and accomplished a lot with this old man. Dr. Singh was assigned to my case. He is one of the best doctor I have known, and I have seen a lot. He was very knowledgeable, kind and very approachable. He observed my pain level and prescribed the appropriate medication and dosage. There was no nonsense about the pain meds; something unheard of in today’s medicine! He was truly wonderful. Going to Physical / Occupational Therapy was like going to a party. Every member of the therapy staff was wonderful. They knew exactly what exercises would work for me and gently guided me through all the steps. Every person had a plethora of tricks around specific actions like climbing stairs, getting in and out of a car, dressing myself, etc. Very helpful. I can’t say enough about how good my experience at Remington Club was despite my injury. These people are outstanding in all aspects of a post operative rehabilitation facility!

10 Stars for the 5 Star Remington!!! Starting at the front desk, Michelle & Nancy are friendly, full of valuable information, and always there with a smile & helping hand. Jaylan was our admissions hero and got everything in place for us at record speed. The nursing staff were all so helpful & attentive, and Dr. Singh is very approachable and treats patients and family members very well. I would highly recommend Remington Care to anyone.
